Well,it said that the righteous and the sinful were called to be rendered according to their deeds. It didn't concretely say they were judged solely base on how many sins or righteousness they committed.
if i'm not wrong metro books series is about how people beliefs just fucked the world and are still fucking on the tunnels for example there's a group on the tunnels who are trying reaching hell digging down and there's a evangelic cult that believe they are blessed even when they are all terrible sick from radiation... There's even a nazi faction and soviet faction still fighting.
Spoiler, in the book, Artyom was born on the surface and got into the metro when he was so little, her mother died in Timiryazevskaya station by the attack of the giant rats, and artyom was saved by his stepfather Alex, went to WDNCh Station.
Hmm, I want to do some too. Spoiler, the game(metro exodus) and the book 2035 are both about people living beyond moskow. However, while the game shows you the train and cars about 15 min after your gameplay, the book only shows you cars, and it takes 2/3 of the book until you get to ride one. Also, at the end of the game, Artyom travels to a safe place in a train with his stalker friends & his wife, but in the book, after Artyom and his teammates(Homer, Sasha, and more) founds out the truth about metro, they try to do a revolution in the metro, only to lose all of Artyom's teammates(they fail Artyom, saying metro is where and why they live) and unable to take the sick kid who needed fresh air to get better. The only people who choose to follow him is his dad and wife. Same start, different ending.

Strange how a game about nuclear war is perfectly fine with the uncountable horrors of nuclear war and its wretched universe, yet entirely left out any drug reference from the books.
@@_tyrannus the references are there. In Exodus, Anna comments asking "What does Krest roll in his cigarettes?" And with psychedelic mushrooms are mentioned somewhere in the game 2033.
To those who may wonder why Russians were so poorly-dressed in the flashbacks there are two options I have in my mind: Either a WW3 pulled the whole nation into a poorer state not allowing them to buy any fancy clothing; or, which I like to think of more, it’s Artyom’s own mind seeing people like that, it’s possible he doesn’t remember much of how things were before the Apocalypse so for almost the entire life people looked exactly like in Metro games.
In the Metro fictional universe, the USSR never collapsed. The economy was in the can if I recall correctly from the book, I think that was the main reason the clothes look patched together.
The Metro 2033 series tells the tale of survivors hiding in the Moscow Metro system. In the year 2012, there were rising tensions between the US and the Russian Federation. To match the American firepower, they even developed the Kalash 2012, the "best bullpup rifle of the Army before World War III". A woman at Prospect Mir (Market Station) says that she saw tanks rush by her house in the early days of the Great War (circa June 2013). There was deadly fighting between US ground forces and the Motherland defenders. The US, wanting to put down the Russians once and for all, attacked important strategic centers in the Urals with nuclear bombs. Immediately after this, they proceeded to nuke large cities, like St. Petersburg and Moscow. Russians then launched their full arsenal of SS-18 "Satan" missiles to the States in retaliation. The order came from the enraged commanders, submarine captains and generals that wanted to avenge their families. The whole world has been slain.
South America is untouched too if I recall, there are actually a bit of places that were not nuked. However most if not all of Russia is isolated in the Metro so they have no way of knowing for sure.
fallout is way different it emphasizes more on a sort of black humour rather than aiming to be more deep and touching, even though you do get something like this deep in fallout3
Fallout is almost happy in its world, and the people get along better. Manufacturing, trade, relatively-safe communities, even freaking countries. Yeah, that's not happening here. I guess you could say that it's only been like 30 years in Metro compared to Fallout's 200, but still.
I just realized, this is basically the story of most any child caught up in a war from which they have to flee, abandoning their home, maybe losing their family and their future, and ending in a rundown desperate refugee camp. Like the children of Syria or South Sudan or ethnic Karen Christians in Myanmar being massacred by their government. This scene exists in many places on this world.
The part when the children that walk through the tunnels, the background music gets me all the time, plus the part when he talks about his mother before the bombs fell at the gardens. In this year, Moscow is one of the World's metropolis, so anyway it should look better, even during war just before worldwide destruction... And on the side note - people must learn well, that there's no such thing as "winnable" nuclear war, as it seems is what nowadays warmongers from the NATO are trying to suggest...
Glukovsky's Russia never brought down the Berlin Wall IIRC, they were still isolated and hated the West, and he made it that the people would be poor and the tension of the Cold War too high by the time true war broke out in 2013.
Avensis Astari That's quite possible, thank you for explanation. However in "Metro 2033" novel there were little said about reasons for a war, nor history before it. As I recall, there were only mentioned shortly some events from during a war (radio operators telling stories about commanders of submarines, that some of them did their duty, others didn't, etc.), but I don't remember anything regarding situation before the war.
kjkonrad Glukovsky has spoken about it in interviews and such, I'm not sure if it says more in Metro 2034, but apparently in that book it confirms that Russia went to war with America.
