Too many modern magicians are no longer familiar with the methods used in Eric's performance. I often hear them at conventions say these methods are too "old school and obsolete." Well, gentlemen, you are watching the methods often employed by past masters, but updated so beautifully by a modern master who seems to fully understand that magic is NOT about the methods and technicalities. Magic is about the performance. This performance is more than a magician doing a simple trick. It is a beautiful story eloquently told without actually speaking a single word. Yes, there are parts of this routine that require some great skill, but those skills are invisible due to their being woven seamlessly into the story. Every action seems to have a reason and that makes this magical performance even more magical. This performance should go down in history as one of magic's best performances of all time. If magicians would study this as a brilliant lesson in developing their performances magic would soon, and finally, be viewed as one of the great performing arts instead of weird variety type of entertainment it is seen as today. This is an example of magical theater at its best. Well done, Eric. You have my highest respect.
@@ishotbambismum6105 No, if Eric had conjured up a demon in order for him to perform this beautiful effect then it would not have taken him countless hours of practicing sleight of hand in front of a mirror and video. Demon powered black magick doesn't require those long hours of practice to create an illusion that looks like real magic. Eric would probably be the first to admit that it is all just a trick, a well-rehearsed series of moves and techniques designed to create the illusion of real magic being performed. It is purely entertainment based on purely natural means. There is nothing occult or satanic about this performance. This is a technically skilled individual with superior performance skills. I just feel like this was almost perfect, but he could’ve utilized the gimmick table (not the black art part, the other part which I won’t expose the secret of) with somthing similar to his “impossible assembly video”
Go to 5:40. Watch in 1080 at .25 speed and tell me again there there was no blur and belnding added in post processing to conceal the rectangular ribbons as they retracted into their slots. If you watch at other critical moments you will see the same thing. That being said, to perform this live is a feat. Eric is a true master. Unfortunately UA-cam has made it orders of magnitude more difficult to be perfect. I'm not sure how I feel about post processing video that was taken of a live performance. Why seek mastery and perfection if you can just conceal defects with video post processing?
@@jameslederer7613 My comment is for those who think the trick works with video editing. I totally agree that their is post processing, but: This trick works perfectly live, and with naked eyes video editing doesn't make any differences. But their are people who watch that frame for frame to figure out the secrets and for those is the post processing. So it's just to hide the secrets for people who watch it frame for frame, but it does not work with video editing, how some people believe. Edit: Sorry if there are spelling mistakes, I am Austrian.
Are you kidding? slowing the video reveals just about everything he does. you can clearly see how he deals card underneath the top-card with his fingers underneath, how the outerlayer of his shirt is ripped down when it changes colour, and even see his slight of hand when he pushes cards down the table and everything. Only the appearance and disappearance of the squares is not visible. But thats only because its faster than the camera, if it was better you would simply see the squares, coins and cards disappear into cracks in the table. He certainly is very good but there is nothing new about his tricks and slight of hands, so if you have any idea what to look for everything is quite clearly visible if the video is slowed down.

Pretty easy to see what he does. He lifts the ribbon and summons the demon Belial to transmute the cards into coins and back. He simply presents his offering backstage and the objects turn back to normal. He'll only be able to do this trick a limited number of times before he runs out of conjurings.

I watched this before already and just re-watched it again because Digg sent me here. This routine is utterly beautiful. WHOAAAAAA!! You performed to us a few hours ago, but I had to leave early because I was in drama club so I didn’t get to see it in person😭 Yeaay I found this video at least 😛 how do you even do thatttttt it’s so magicalll. Once a shark, always a shark! 🦈☺️
@Skettles It's pretty easy, examine the crimp in the rectangles and consider why they are there. Obviously, because they were folded at one time. Do they not appear to be attached to the material they lie on? So the material was therefore folded, concealing them. Now you have already figured it out, except the transitions are impossibly invisible...because the video has been retouched, which is why 'it took some time to get a proper version for upload' from the performer's mouth. The mechanism of effect of the rectangle reveal/dissappear is basically the same as the ribbon cut. These are the two big effects of the routine, and gimmicks of the table, and they have both been digitally retouched to conceal the gimmicks of the table.
Watch his left hand, it goes to his waist to pull the black vest off while the diversion is created by his right arm diving across the table. Understanding it though doesn't make it any less impressive.
Soundtrack please? Your video is perfect, your magic is perfect, so much dedication, good job and keep grow up, don't stop dreaming, try to touch the sky and you will be happy with this adventure

You used common sleights to create a true masterpiece. The mind that created this routine and the hands that performed each sleight flawlessly deserve the reward.

오늘한거랑 똑같네요 ㅎㅎ 대단!! 잘봤습니다~
I watched this before already and just re-watched it again because Digg sent me here. This routine is utterly beautiful. It's like "S" Tier level, like it would've been a Copperfiled trick if he had a chance to own the rights to it. I'd love to see the routines of all the winners of FISM, but I have a feeling that this routine is going to be one of the top ones.
Eric Chien, you definitely are going to remembered as on the of the greatest for creating and performing this.
One of the most cleverly designed a d brilliantly executed routines I’ve ever seen. Maybe THE best
Even when I watch how magic tricks are done
I'm still always amazed at seeing the trick done again
This is incredible to see well done and thank you 👍
After many viewings, I can see a few things, but most of it is so clean that I have no idea how it was done. Beautifully crafted and choreographed. This was a joy to watch.
As I watch this incredible performance my natural curiosity is screaming to know how he pulled off those fantastic tricks. Frankly it would be insulting to attempt to explain what I have seen only moments earlier when Eric has spent years perfecting these wonderful illusions. I salute you Sir, masterful.
Eric Chien's new magic act has made all magicians to lose sleep.
I don't usually watch magic tricks or performance but this... is AMAZING! It seems like magic exist in real life! Good job Eric, thanks for sharing this!
FROM ITALY, THANKS!
this is actually the best magic trick that exists, period.
The most amazing sleight of hand magic I've ever seen! It just keeps on getting crazier and crazier. Pure brilliance!
nuts. i feel knowing how a couple of the moves are done make it even more impressive. his slight of hand skills are amazing, true art imo
Even if you know every Trick! Out of this Performance... It's even then... F*cking AMAZING! You did it so clean! Even if i go on slowmo, and watch every Problem zone of them, you won't Find any! It's Art to have so much Perfection, and this on Hard Tricks like this! I am happy, to life in Times like this, where people Like you Shows how Amazing magic can be! So, thank you for this Master Piece!
This is So AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats!! and thanks for creating this miracle routine !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eric Chien
this routine is the definition of magic. not illusion. because it makes me feel like I'm in a world with something beyond my understanding. which makes me feel wonderful. THAT is magic.
Saw your Fism Act Last July, and it was a privelage to witness it live! Thanks for sharing your magic to the world!
The level of magicians is increasing very fast. Congrats for this piece of art!
와... 이건 다시 봐도 미쳤다!!! 다른 마술들은 우와! 잘한다!! 인데... 이건 그냥 호그와트네....
One of the GOAT seriously how could he have been behind the scenes eve,,,wow mind blown
That ending gives me chills every single time
Every time I watch this, I see more and more of the story being told. Amazing performance 👏👏👏
This is beautiful, just like Shin Lim, your the next super star!
No words left !!! Speechless!!! Thx for faczinating me and it was a pleasure to watch you!! I wish you all the best !!
That ending! Loved the performance
Everyone is like "yeah I know how this is done" until he picks up the bit of the card.
nope i dunno
What a fine act! I'd love to see you on Penn and Teller's Fool Us!
This is the 1st time ive ever seen this. This is also the greatest routine i have ever seen in my life. This is unbelievable. Well deserved win. 🏆
This is by far the best magic routine I have ever seen!!! Too good!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩👍✌️
Too FAKE and you are a simple minded fool...
@@imtheman3039 you the type of guy to say the ouija board is moving on it's own and call everything fake lmfao. fuck outta here
So good to see Your fellow magicians supporting you in the comments section. You deserve it, though, because this was pure magic. Keep it up!
ok, this is seriously awsome! u blew my mind. THX!
This STILL mesmerizes me after all these months! WOW!!!!!!
0:34 clicking back and forth between frames. Frame 1: No rectangles. Frame 2: Rectangles
I've spent the last half hour yelling at my computer to "Zoom in! Enhance!" and I still got nothin'.
He threw the rectangle and the two rectangles light up
I'm not a magician but I think I figured out 90% of it
Well im convinced this guys an actual wizard blending in as a magician
Love U man!!!!!! YOUR SKILL IS MASTERFUL!
You are the TRUE meaning of magic .... MAGIC ... MAGIC MAGIC ... you are the best i've ever seen and you deserve to win AGT with no questions. ... please keep up the good work !
Is anyone here for his AGT debut and knew him before it? 😂
Yes, I knew him before because he's the winner of another AGT (Asia's Got Talent) earlier year.
Nick Nguyen I knew him before America’s Got Talent. I saw and voted for him for Asia’s Got Talent and so happy he won. Hope he wins America’s Got Talent too!
I was looking for you my buddy 😂
Shin Lim is really good, but Eric is out of this world, there's always people that are really good in what they do but then there's legends
lol dude eric chien uses video editing for some of his tricks... But yeah if that guy is a legend for you....
@@DjRea75 He never used video editing here, wdym?
I'm surprised that the Ministry of Magic has not arrested him yet. :O
He's the new head of the ministry...
You can't simply arrest demons.
M.o.M lmao
Yes!! I was just thinking about how much his Hogwarts tuition was...
Me too 😁😁😁
his sleight of hand is so calm and composed with the positioning as well as very skillfully demonstrated, sharing these moments with everyone around makes it so interesting Tried watching in 0.25 speed and the frames changed instantaneously, see color change at 2:19 to 2:31
I think you should go perform at Penn and Teller fool us😂
he wouldnt fool them, he doesnt even fool me. The reason he won is his skillz, not the "how to".
@@narfsc2657 it's good promotion, though - fool them or not.
Besides, he fooled me plenty of times in that routine.
He did, and did.
@@narfsc2657 he will probably fool them i mean you cannot just say its slight of hands and that this didn't fool you
@Ian Stevenson I have not seen Eric Chien on Penn and Teller's Fool us. Are you thinking of Shin Lim?
Who's here after Asia's got talent.
Ahahahahah ME 😂😂😂
That means ur the 2nd
@@lukeinfimate9971 hhaahaha..u think so?
Wth I saw him on Americas got talent a few days ago. Guess he is going for the world 😂

you get the idea. damn. Dr Strange, you ain't got nothin'
You're a real life Wizard and make magic real, I just love what you do, You're a living legend
WHOAAAAAA!! You performed to us a few hours ago, but I had to leave early because I was in drama club so I didn’t get to see it in person😭 Yeaay I found this video at least 😛 how do you even do thatttttt it’s so magicalll. Once a shark, always a shark! 🦈☺️
Yeet Yay 🦈🦈🦈🦈
You can watch this is .25 speed and still be extremely confused. Some of it straight up doesn't seem possible it's actually insane.
like at 1:51 ? its so extremely obvious...
@@nedudki than 3:20 ?
I think video was edited before publishing.
@@UniMindPerson edited before publishing? the hell you saying? he did that on stage with people watching him. ITS A COMPETITION. DUMB FCK
My favourite part is the ribbon torn and restore! And the first dress change.
Watch his left hand, it goes to his waist to pull the black vest off while the diversion is created by his right arm diving across the table. Understanding it though doesn't make it any less impressive.
Mr. Eric Chien, that was really adorable! You've gained a new fan. thank you for this great performance.
Soundtrack please?
Your video is perfect, your magic is perfect, so much dedication, good job and keep grow up, don't stop dreaming, try to touch the sky and you will be happy with this adventure
Wow...
