It's okay, we appreciate it. It's so much better than those reactors who watch the whole thing without saying anything to then just talk at the end of the video :)
The line, "Go back to Hawaii" is a not-so-subtle jab (if you know their early history) at the jackass on who called them girls for wearing stage makeup when they were still young and long before they earned this current world-wide fame. Suga has said that his music is like a trap for cockroaches - if you get caught in one that's on you since he never directly calls anyone out by name. This is my favorite of the 4 cyphers because how hard Suga and RM go but it's still amazing to see how the growth in both lyrics and the overall mindset changes.
The amount of references in this cypher drove me insane and made me Army. See bts were monster rookies but not from the big 3 and still were criticized for being too idol like by underground rappers especially RM and Suga. They hadn't even scored their first music show win (an important achievement for all idol groups) All the cyphers were born from this place. So rapping with swagger even without the success they have today, shows immense self belief. And they only get better. Now if we knew Korean we would be able to understand more of these references 😅
OMG how I love Triptych. You geeking out with it is so fun and why I watch. I love when people appreciate what they put into their songs and even get the levels, double entendres, etc. Also LOVE that you introduced Daechwita to your co-workers. That is fire. Even though I still don't call them KPOP since that industry shunned them for at least 10 years. I just call them BTS, a group of Korean artists. Others already said things below I would have said or pointed out. So on to 3... :)
We know for sure that one of the target of this Cypher was the underground rapper "B-Free" who insulted RM and Suga during a podcast just months after their debut. In SK, you have to really respect your senior, so RM and Suga couldn't fight back directly. Cypher 2 is their answer. Years later, this rapper ended up in jail and BTS became world wide - Karma is an ARMY !
"This is K-Pop"? Mmmmm... I would not say plainly "yes". They were and technically are part of K-pop industry. But they have always been different, and they went beyond. They are a class on their own.
I don’t think you mean any ill will with your suggesting he not just answer ‘yes’ when he played Suchwita, yet I have many people who think the same way when I say I love BTS. I decided to play August-D and some Layover and hip hop genre somewhere and they were surprised too. It didn’t mean they liked them and would become ARMY but I just said it’s BTS who has all kinds of music. Too much detail and I found people’ mind shuts off. I’m happy he played it in the first place. Thank you 💜💜💜
@@Ween4ever for sure, there is no ill intention!!! It's just a reflection that always floats in my mind whenever I listen to them. There is very little to no "K-pop" stereotypical sound in their music. That's why I made this remark 😊 But be assured that I did not want to sound unpolite. If I did, I apologise 💜
Yeaa lol I don't consider it "Kpop" (in my head) for sure. Simply, kpop pretty much just became a 2nd nature word for me to use w/the Ch. and all. It's def a skill issue type hurdle, I suppose.
@@giovannabenso1754 I know. I think it’s because a few people I mention BTS say the same and I tried to tell them what you wrote. Thy waved me off and it made me feel alone as ARMY here. The same people I played a couple of songs for used to say they were a K-pop boy band like the stereotypical Western boy bands and I live in Canada and was surprised how close minded they were. I did try to explain, and they walked away. Maybe it’s hard to play that music or say in front of people because I’m older ( not silver). I understand why you wrote it. No need to apologize fellow ARMY. 💜🫶🏼 .
Oh my god!! I LOVE TRIPTYCH!!! It was fun watching you geek out😂 When the beat drops and RM goes 'R r r right! Come hither.'' You know its coming. And yeah i felt it when you went "they're already dead! You're still going?!" 😂😂 I love love Love Suga's maniac laugh at the end. It feels like he's laughing standing over the grave of whoever they decimated. Nothing remains only ashes. He's insane bro!! 😂😂😂
Hey Teej, knew you would geek on the Cyphers. I am 60 years old and grew up with rock n roll, never realy cared much for rap, ever. BUT, when I heard this Cypher I was blown away, especially with Suga's verse. So after listening to this one several times I then started to really listen to the rest and OMG have been hooked ever since. These three can really go hard!! Can't wait til you finish the lyric vid and watch the lives...so much better. Also, if you haven't already, you need to add Outro: Tear to your list! It is so deep and full of emotion. It was written by Suga in 2018 when they were thinking about disbanding. So so so glad that they didn't!! Great reaction, looking forward to the rest!
This outro: Tear song is def in the q. I do believe it is right after the next group song from them called "Bapsae" or something other lol idk but it's not far away is what I'll say to make this shorter
@@TEEJ-9 OH, oh...lol. You are gonna love Bapsae. You will also want to watch the explained video done by DKDKTV otherwise you will miss a lot of the Korean meanings. I would put a link but, LOL, I am not very computer literate, LOL. But if you do a search, on Bapsae explained, it should come up first.
Don't worry Teej we are geeking right along with you and we will do it with you every single time. Love your story about you introducing Daechwita to other people. Yes definitely share the love!
I love that you're putting them on but I would like to say that no this isn't k-pop. BTS have transcended the k-pop label a long time ago. They've always had their own sounds and concepts that not only are very different from the rest of k-pop but also different from their own songs which sound very different from each other due to their incredible versatility both as a group and as soloists. As a hip-hophead myself who grew up listening to all the ogs of rap the BTS rap-line are easily the best in the k-pop industry and some of the best I've heard overall. Their skills and lyricism are no joke. You can tell they actually truly love and are very well informed on hip-hop it's in their roots. Suga actually reminds me so much of a younger Eminem in terms of raw authentic lyrics, delivery, flows, and life story.
Yeaa lol I don't consider it Kpop for sure... kpop pretty much just became a 2nd nature word for me to use w/the Ch. and all. It's def a skill issue type hurdle, honestly. UGH Em 🔥
they never tell who the song is about but in this one its really obvious that its about a certain rapper who really disrespected them during an interview - there was a snippet of it in the introduction video
Please React to Stray kids you are missing out. They have the most crazy rap songs!!!! “Heyday” “3Racha” “Easy” “Hall of fame”… I am waiting to see your reactions!!!😢
bts isnt k pop. i believe theyve demolished that title. they are global musicians that can do any genre thrown their way.there music isnt made of just nonsense music that uses a dance beat and a repetitive hook to distract you from nonsense lyrics. i could never put these 7 men in a k pop category. sorry for the rant. i really dislike k pop lol
Warning: Might be a bit of talking here 😅
It's okay, we appreciate it.

Suga's line "like your parents my heart hurts whenever i see you" always has me like 😳😲
Seriously brutal

Think I need to delve a bit more into that side of their history as well to get the full story
