Lincoln, I so appreciate how you verbalize your thinking and plans. That makes watching a play through much more engaging. Not all channels realize that, unfortunately!
Jim, Thanks so much for the kind words! We really wanted to do this show for ages before the lockdown. The ridiculous amount of time at home finally allowed us to do it. We planned for DateNight to be a new show and when we can game with folks again it will become it's own thing. Thanks again for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
Agreed. While I like seeing games played out at 4 players (wouldn't mind watching some games at 5 or 6 even) it's sure nice to watch a relaxed game session with just 2 players as well.
I love this new GameNight! series. I generally play games two players so it is always great to see how they are played with that player count. Also Nikki and Lincoln are my favorite GameNight! players; although I do miss Dave.
note: spending for the decoration doesn't count as one resource. All the resources you spend count toward your three total. So building a door with two gems is all you can do.
I agree with Jim. I think BGG is setting itself up for a nice set of shows...GameNight for group games...DateNight for two player games...and Aldie has been doing a ton of solo plays in recent months and that could be the start of a regular solo-player show as well! Just something to think about. Personally, I prefer the old fashioned 4+ player GameNight, but some people love two player games because that's how they play at home (with their spouse or sibling) and others are more into solitaire games. I am very curious what will happen when the lockdowns end...will people still be livestreaming as often or will we go back to "one-show-a-week" formats?
Great video! Just wondering at @ 50:37, you already used 3 resources to build the decoration and then did another build after that in the same turn. Is that possible? I thought you can only deliver 3 resources on your turn for both decoration and/or building.
I have watched a lot of your videos with four players but never just you two. Nikki - you are a good teacher. Never saw you with the school marm hat on before. :-)
18:46 Why is it considered ruthless if the players don’t score a tower when they tie for it in a 2 player game? It’s the difference in score that matters, and the difference would be zero anyway. Am I missing something?
Some day, it'd be nice to watch a regular Game Night playthrough at 4p. It'd be interesting to show the differences in strategy, scoring, etc., at a higher player count. I think I'm in love with this game.
Very beautiful game but I have a doubt. At 50:30 you sent another material after you had built a door with 1 wood and 2 gems. I understood if you select the action of send material to construct, you can only send a maximum of 3. With the door you had sent 3 material, why you could send another one?
True. They get all the building stuff wrong:send the door, pay the wood and 2 gems and that is it...3 materials:wood and 2 gems;the door is a ornament not a building material...
Is Lincoln’s move around 47:30 a mistake? He uses the guild to activate a workshop tile, so it seems he should just get a purple gem. Instead, he moves the die under the workshop tile, gets the benefit of the new spot, and then gets a purple gem. Am I missing something?
David, you are correct. I'm not sure what happened here. If you notice the white die I moved is back where it started and I don't have the purple gem so I think either we realized I did something wrong or I took back my turn. I do recall some difficulty editing a turn and this might have been the one. What I do when I move the yellow die is correct. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
Great playthrough, thanks! I pre-ordered this game back in October (in Europe) but I hear stores will only get stock in February. Watching this makes it seem like February is soooo far away....
Dave, we love the game. We got the expansion but haven't had a chance to play it. Looking forward to giving it a shot. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
@47:52 isnt that an illegal play because the 3 pip white die cannot go to the third spot? so subsequently and 'extended' moves are illegal as well? Other than that have been looking forward to a playthrough for this great game... what a great puzzle!
@@boardgamegeek thanks! that's actually a very interesting twist to the rule! did not notice it... now i can't actually wait for my pre-order to ship and hit my door :)

At 45:05 when Nikki said she couldn't get to the wood.... she could have moved the 3 pip white die then paid 3 money to get to the wood, right? (Edit) And then I see Lincoln did that exact thing a couple minutes after that. 😄 🤣
I don’t collect half way! Gotta get them all though I’m not a crazy completionist. My Mammoth Hunters is the Rio Grande version without the number on the spine. Plus I didn’t buy the repeat of Puerto Rico, I let the deluxe edition hold it’s place. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln

Yes.He done the same thing few times.
I just found out about this game a few days ago. This video of yours comes at a good time. It looks good. :)
Thanks, you two. :)
Thanks! I’m glad we could help. -Lincoln
Love Nikki's tunic top.

I clicked because of the hair flair! You both have such nice hair : )
Thanks! That's as good as any excuse to click through :-) -Lincoln

45:20 She said she couldn’t get to the wood.. just use the white die and pay three coins to move it to wood.. lol
Where do you buy those cute rubber containers? I desperately need to know.

According to the rules you may pay to extend the white (or your own color) die beyond the full space.

If this had a different theme, I think I'd be all over it. Fun to watch though!
Keeping in any potential prejudice, I still like the game and the theme :-)
The game is great and not very expensive. It is really worth everyone’s consideration. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln

Fifth Avenue? Don't see many with that in a gamers alea collection
