- After making an epic helicopter entrance at the San Diego world premiere of ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ Tom Cruise spoke to ‘Extra’s’ Rachel Lindsay about the long-awaited sequel. Tom admitted it was ‘daunting’ making another ‘Top Gun’ movie and expressed his relief and gratitude over how it is being received. He also dished on how Maverick has changed over 36 years. Plus, Tom talked about working with Lady Gaga, whose song ‘Hold My Hand’ is featured in the movie, and going to see her show in Vegas! ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is in theaters May 27.

Gotta be one of the best red carpet interviews ever. Rachel asked great, insightful questions and gave Tom the time and space to answer them without interrupting. Very well done! Also, it's been a pleasure being a child of the 80s and growing up watching Tom's movies. He may be the last great Hollywood actor, no one does it like him.
She did a wonderful job in the interview. She didn’t interrupt him and try to be the star and outshine him like people like Jimmy Fallon do. It was refreshing to see an interviewer allow the star to talk. The interview flowed excellently. Both class acts.
The last true movie star. I saw this movie for the second time last night, *SIX WEEKS AFTER IT WAS RELEASED* and there was a packed audience who literally whistled and cheered through the entire end credits as that Gaga song blasted. Such a magical experience, so thankful to Cruise for all he does to keep real Hollywood filmmaking alive.
This was a fantastic interview. She got Tom talking and having fun. Excellent performance from both. Mr. Cruise is such a class act.

Rachel LIndsay nailed this interview. Wow. Tom Cruise is the real deal. How do you stay on top in the movie industry, since he started, when he was about 18 years old? But Tom has done it. He is an amazing person and actor and movie maker. He's got it all. Always a true professional. Always cares about the audience and his cast and his crew. Aren't we lucky to have him? Yes!

That girl nailed that interview. It was relaxed, her flow was natural, she was enthusiastic and she allowed Tom Cruise to tell us a little about what makes him tick. Cruise is a saviour of an art form that is cinema and I hope we get to enjoy movies on the big screen where they should always premier and play. Day Date is something we should not return to post covid. It dilutes the movie experience and cheapens the experience and magic that is Hollywood.

The soundtrack to the movie by Lady Gaga is adorable. Rachel Lindsay did a fantastic job interviewing Tom Cruise. She is also gorgeous too! Tom Cruise is one of my favourite actors and a consumate professional. These are the kind of actors that make me honoured and like being in the acting industry.
I was at the Premiere of the movie in London, UK, although I did not get to see him in person , it was great being there and seeing everyone's reaction.
Tom Cruise said: "This is not work. This is LIVING THE DREAM." That sums up why he is why Tom Cruise is movie world's G.O.A.T. Legend, tbh. And, the way he described Lady Gaga is simply mindblowing. Plus her song - absolutely outstanding.

Every time I watch an interview with him its like WOW...love this man for what he stands for and for his willingness to share his craft with the next generation of young actors and actresses.
Tom always says his job is to entertain people. That's his goal every time he makes a movie. I think it's why he's so intense, so hands on with all his movies. I commend him for it, because he's the best in the business.

The best most elegant interview I've seen. I don't know why people talk shit about him. He seems so in love with his career and the endless opportunities
This interview was great and Cruise was extremely calm in demeanor and open and respectful; but the reason some people may speak of him negatively in an interview context is Tom Cruise has a history of overreacting to interviewers and behaving erratically if they misplace a question or accidently veer toward too personal of a topic. Furthermore, he picked up some haters over his submission to Scientology and his alleged treatment of Katie Holmes when they were married. I don't worry too much about stuff like that, because actors are just human beings, subject to the same potential pitfalls, problems, and ways of dealing with them that ordinary non-celebrity human beings are.
Because scientology is awful.

Best interview I have seen with Tom!! I think it has alot to do with the girl interviewing him, she let him talk and express himself and one can see that he enjoyed it and she really put him at ease and he gave him a chance to express himself and didnt interrut him at all. She did great because he is not an easy person to interview he has a real attitude usually. She is one amazing presenter/interviewer.

This is one of the best interviews so far with Tom. Rachel was full of enthusiasm, excitement and joy to be interviewing one of the biggest superstars in Hollywood. Yet, she was very patient and respectful. I applaud her for that. Being born in the 80s, I watched most of Tom's movies. A massive fan, I say. Tom is so much different now. He showed more maturity, honesty and vulnerability particularly in this interview. I love the trust he shows with his co-stars and sharing the craft to the younger generations. One thing I'm sure of, when Tom hangs his acting career it will be one of the saddest day in Hollywood, if not the world. Lastly, "TOP GUN: Maverick" is the best ever movie sequel I watched so far. Huge congratulations to Tom and his crew.
