    I’m decently handy and pretty crafty and to be honest these are pretty bad quality. I speak from experience-they look fine at first, but with way they were put together they will almost immediately begin to come apart, especially with all the shortcuts. And the materials for all of these projects will rack up cost surprisingly quickly, in the end costing more for a product that will quickly fall apart.

    No one ever tells you how much these cost, that dense foam is like $40 for a piece like that, if not more plus the fabric will be like $15 unless it's on sale, and the batting would be like $15, plus the cost of the bookshelf! At that point you should just buy a more comfortable seat.

    Surely it would be cheaper and less time-consuming to just buy some of these? Because you can’t find many of the materials used so you’ll have to buy new material anyway + the equipments.

      I guess it's more satisfying to actually do it yourself tbh, and you also get the creative freedom of choosing your own fabric/wood stain/sizing etc. Idk, that's the reason I chose to DIY instead of buying lol

    • @shellyslioneyes
      @shellyslioneyes 6 років тому +1

      Yeah, like the first one with wood. I wanted to make a duct tape mannequin and went to the Home Depot. I got wood out of their "scrap pile." Here it was oak. It was only 8" x 14" and it was going to cost $22 bucks. The real mannequin online is on $39. And after I bought wood, I still had to get wrapped and nail it together and paint frame, etc and HOPE it turned out ok. Sometimes it's simply easier and cheaper to just buy what you want. UGH!

    unfortunately the succulent table will probably kill your succulents :( there is 0 drainage for water and the plants will probably develop root rot because of it (I have killed 2 succulents because of draining issues now and have since learned better).
    too bad because it's a super cute idea!!

    • @jade2014
      @jade2014 6 років тому +1

      Laura Rasmussen i'm sure there would be a way to create drainage, and to not do to much damage! Like use flex seal or something and drill some holes through the bottom. Also instead of plastic wrap the flex seal would probably do a better job of protecting the table!

    • @snowlondon8642

    cute but why do they do things in inefficient ways? measure elastic band each time by wrapping the book instead of just measuring one piece and using it to cut the rest? tuck fabric around and under an entire bench of foam just to THEN flip it over and wrap it AGAIN to staple the fabric? sorry buts it’s 2am, and i’m gonna be salty about crafts i’m literally never going to do

    • @lemono151
      @lemono151 6 років тому +8

      beefeebrillate It’s to make it feel more like a seat/bench than just sitting on half hard foam. To make it more cushiony I suppose? Whatever, that’s just my opinion.

    • @shellyslioneyes
      @shellyslioneyes 6 років тому +2

      Foam makes you sweat directly close to your skin. The cotton batting serves as a barrier. Never buy a foam mattress and if you do, get a THICK mattress cover. Ask anyone at any mattress store. Trust me.

    If making pom pom rug around 6:07...You may want to use TWO non slip mats doubled up and then tie the pom poms through them....Because I think as flimsy as they are, it will rip in NO TIME if you only use ONE. (Just a thought.)....Also, wooden bench at 13:00 needs more support devides throughout the center of the 2 boxes if holding weight. (May STILL crack under pressure)
