The Best Budget Pants For Pre-Season Scouting!

- In this week's Gear or Gadget, we are bringing our experiences with different products to the table to do a hybrid style product review. We are calling this segment "Gear or Gadget." Today, we are in the studio with Justin Yuran of Yurans Whitetail Taxedermy.
We will be determining whether we think this piece of hunting equipment is gear, and we would buy it again or is it a gadget and money can be better spent somewhere else.
There are a couple of ground rules:
#1 We are not here to brand bash anyone. We are simply here to give honest reviews on products we have used.
#2 NO USEAGE OF THE TERM "GAME CHANGER". The game has not changed, and will not change from a single product.

Hahahahaha I've literally been telling every single dude I know that these are the best pants EVER made!!! It's the only thing I wear. I have 8 pairs!!! I work for the county in pipeline repair and they are durable, light, comfy. They're basically dress pants for the outdoors!! Best pant I've ever owned in my life no question!!! I literally lol when I saw what pant you chose 🤣🤣🤣
I got the 55 version and they’re ATG trail pants. Absolutely GAME CHANGER! I custom fitted them to my fit body and they are versatile for quite literally all occasions
Absolutely my favorite pant! The only issue I have had is the waist stretches out through out the day. Definitely requires a belt.
Rick Young Outdoors makes a Bino strap that holds your binoculars and rangefinder. Super comfortable and only $15-$20; mine is 3 years old and still works well. Stays tight to your body and doesn’t get in the way when you’re drawing your bow
Wrangler pants are awesome. Thanks for sharing that there’s a fleece lined pair that might come handy late season . Also you guys should try the marsupial gear bino harness and range founder pouch the flaps open forward and lock vid a magnet
Love these episodes. So with the rangefinder pouch and lanyard. I went on the cheap and attached my vortex rf pouch to my marsupial gear bino harness and bought the lanyards from cabelas in the fly fishing section.
For the range finder I will not wear a jacket or vest with out the chest pocket. The little zipper pocket in front is a must have. And my range finder is normally my binocular. I’m in northwest pa normally in a woods setting, if I need my binos my bag stays unzipped up in the tree with me on the ground I’ll have to stop and take it out if it’s to far for my rangefinder to see. I have the vortex bino harness and it is just to bulky and hot. Normally my range finder can do the job seeing just enough if it’s a nice buck or not.
For scouting, buy a pair of $44 briarproof chaps from Dan's Hunting Gear. Lightweight and very durable to protect your pants from all season briars and stinging nettle in summer. They're too noisy to hunt with, use them just for scouting.
Been using Smokey’s pre orbital as well. I use it to kick start mock scrapes or doctor up existing scrapes. Agreed with everything said. Great product!
Got the atg tip from cam early this year and love them for not just hunting but everyday work

I have some flexfit, wrangler, Realtee pants I purchased from Walmart for like $14.99. I use them ALL the time, plus to hunt hogs! Highly recommend.
I live in NW pa and I’ve found these in Gabes department stores for 12 dollars a pair. I got 3 normal pairs 1 fleece lined and I love them.
I agree the wrangler atg are awesome im hr South of Pittsburgh and our local Walmart has them for 17.97 daily i have 2 of every color there my every day pant plus scouting and hunting anytime its above 50 degrees

Can you guys do a video on the best boot laces for my boots? I'm not seeing as many deer on my cameras this year, so I'm thinking my boot laces must be causing it.

The blue mountain tractor supply khakis and olive drab colored pants are pretty good I hunt with them in early season and they go on sale for 12 bucks all the time. Also have them atg wranglers too but I think the price went up on those
I use those pants as well, they are great!!
Very comfortable, i have/had 3 pairs... shot a buck last season in briars and absolutely destroyed 1 pair.... trash they went.

I'm always open to new scents but man the best thing I've ever used in scrapes was my own piss lol seriously.
Exodus- I was listing to podcast Jw if you guys can get a guest from southern missouri upper arkansas- hill-timber country- not a lot of ag would like to hear views on our type of hunting down here tons of public land was hoping you knew someone that hunted around our neck of the woods

Agreed with pants and range finder pouch (no experience with scents). I live in NC and it easily gets over 100 degrees with >90% humid and those pants are clutch. Didn’t know they have the reinforced style and will check those out for sure. Thanks again guys, another great video.

Yeah but their thread is not the best forest or pockets for credit is mad about worrying out either danner it's just a product that I work around I use them for work pants they are amazing
Don't take this the wrong way, but everytime I see Cam I expect to hear a Seth Rogen laugh. 😂
My current pants are Army surplus(multicam) cotton ripstop pants....they are NOT so good for scouting. Them being cotton they soak up dew like a sponge so right now in the market for some quality early season pants with DWR.
ATG pants is all I wear anymore
Wear whatever pants you like in the warm weather of the preseason.
