    Thank you for this! I've been finding it difficult to find solo female traveler to Morocco content that isn't totally fear mongering.

      Curious, comparatively what advice would you have for male expats when interacting with locals? Black men, etc? Have you down a vlog on this?

    These are helpful tips! I've heard bad reviews about Casablanca. Is Casablanca worth traveling to?

    Hi is there a black expat group there to connect with?

    • @TheJazzyNation1
      @TheJazzyNation1  Рік тому +2

      I’m sure there are! Search black expats in Morocco on fb. That’s how I’ve been able to find groups like that in countries I move to.

    Do you speak French or Arabic? If not, was it difficult to communicate?

    • @TheJazzyNation1

      I speak french. I know a few Arabic phrases that helped me get by.

    Are French and Arabic widely spoken?

    • @TheJazzyNation1

      In Casablanca, French was more widely spoken but Darija, Moroccan Arabic was spoken more in other areas from my experience.

    Hey! thanks so much for the info! I'm a single woman thinking of applying to be a fulbright eta in morocco, and if I get it I'd probably be living alone and commuting alone to and from the school I worked at, and maybe the only person in the program in that whole city! I'd absolutely love to have the chance to improve my teaching skills, learn arabic and experience morocco, but i'm worried i'd be miserable being that isolated for 10 whole months, especially if the amount i can go out and meet people is really limited by my gender. How easy is it to make female friends in Morocco? do you know your neighbors? also, do you know if I could get by speaking Spanish in the north? my spanish is pretty good, but i don't know any french.

      I found it easy to make friends with the people I worked with and went to church with. I knew my neighbors because we worked together. The other people in my building I did not know. I would still suggest you learn french or Arabic if you are going to be in the north. Thank you for watching and good luck. Feel free to send me an email if you have more questions. I answer emails quicker.
