City fan here, really disappointed that he left. And Pep also had a problem with Cancelo. Our inverted full backs are leaving for cheap. Also ziny changed the game last season when we won the league against villa. We were trailing but he came on and changed the game and even created the assist for the second goal to equalise. Ziny and jesus are back bones now to arsenal to build on and now if arsenal spend in the summer they will compete against city for years to come
I feel like pep didn't value him much, maybe because he's market value wasn't so high..

His level of technic is just incredible, an ELITE footballer.
Basically a defensive midfielder who moves into the left back position during a defensive play.
@@marvisalobz71 wouldn't even consider him to be only "deep-lying"... sometimes he plays very advanced like a box to box midfielder with a direct threat on goal , sometimes he becomes a pure central number 8 controlling the game-flow and also other times where he becomes the midfield enforcer along side Partey/Jorginho getting scrappy in the middle winning the ball back quicky in the oppositions half before they counter-attack. He is such unique player... Credit to Arteta for recognizing his ability and potential usage.... not just limiting and boxing him to the stereotypical role of a lb.
I think he's naturally no8 but Pep (and maybe Arteta) added defensive training to his forte to play him as LB at City.

1st phase king ..so unique ..this is almost like playing Ozil at leftback ..every pass he makes takes out a minimum of 2 opponents to make it easier for the attacker to have a clean break on goal .U can hound him for his defensive abilities but wat he does with a ball cant be compared

We cannot champion Tierney, whom we all admire, over Zinny who is a silky, determined midfield leader capable of defending unparalleled in that offensive line up in Europe. That's why big Gabbi deserves praise for covering the whole left tide. Note that is not where we concede goals. Its at the stage where i easily confuse the blonde hair of Ode, Zinny and Tross, such is the sublime skill of each.

Obviously he's a truly reliable playmaker with great sense of pitch and partners and he's definitely more confident amd useful in the midfield or attack but not in deffence. Anyways it's pleasure to watch him progressing and making a difference to the team.
I think his position is half guard, he successfully catches his opponent on the counter. Because of his attacking actions, he can't cover all areas of the field, and just physically doesn't have time to return to defense.
Now I know why Arsenal is top of the EPL... what a footballer...he hates the simple passes.😃

in mind arteta knows very well zinny is good in midfield than defensive, but he ended up making him a left back ,to create him as a free man when attaking ,and excess attacking as ordegard joins attackers from midfield, and gave the lcb diffender the role to cover for zinny , so as to play with 3 defenders creating a strong team up there,,Arteta is a genius
