You should update this to include how to check the dual microphones in video how do you know if the left and right mics are both working also cameras with screens that can be moved around. I got a used B500 to replace my L340 both Nikon cameras. I'm not sure why HDMI isn't working it could be the HDMI cable I ordered or my TV not seeing the signal correctly.
I purchased on eBay but this video was still very helpful.
I updated the firmware, I asked the seller why it was not already updated and as they'd only used it a couple of times and it was left stored away it was on an old update. The box was from Argos so it was easy for me to check when it was first and last sold in the store.

Armando, I am more interested to know why you wanted to purchase a 5DMKII in 2019? How do you plan to incorporate it into your workflow?
This camera is still AMAZING for photography honestly (I still use my 5D Mii) I see almost no reason to upgrade other than maybe a better screen because the quality and colors are awful on my screen. But I find the video okay, I certainly would never use it on a client project unless I needed something smaller than my C100.
It's still a really great camera. I only just recently switched to a Fuji XT3. But I'm still keeping my 5D around. The only think that i find lacking that new cameras do better is more AF focus points, more FPS, and AF for video. Otherwise this camera really holds up. AND it shoots RAW video with magic lantern :)))
The 5D Mark II has this very unique look that almost looks like film, it's a bit grainy and the colors are amazing. Coupled that with Magic Lantern and you can record internal 2K RAW video! Upscale that to 4K and it looks better than 90% of the DSLR/Mirrorless cameras available today, truly a unicorn if you ask me.
@@mondobytes Thanks for responding. I own this camera. It was my first DSLR purchased in 2012. I also have Magic Lantern on it but haven't tried RAW video yet. Since I picked up the 6DMKII last year I rarely use my 5DMKII. I have been wondering if I should sell it or put it to use. Sometimes I miss taking photos with it. Looking back at some of my old photos I feel like they look more like I took them with a 35mm rather than a DSLR.

Get the 800d or the 200d if youre out of budget. Forget the old 700d.

Hello, Is it ok to buy a used camera which was used for vlogging and has a low shutter count?
Remember to check the CF card port, for bent pins...
I didn't mention this even though you should because if you're testing out the camera and inserting a card if the pins are bent 99% of the times it won't read a card . But it's still a good idea to peep in there to make sure everything looks solid.

I'm curious to understand the number of actuations/triggers that tell how much was the camera used.
- What's the range to consider as too much vs acceptable vs barely used?
- Does it really have such a detrimental effect on the life or quality of the camera if lots of pictures/movies were taken on it?
My friend is a professional videographer and he said if it's pushing beyond 100,000 then that's pretty high.
Most modern cameras normally can do well over 100k actuation but look more at the condition as video does not cause actuation just as an electronic shutter is less wear. I recently sold my Sony NEX switching to Fuji and that had mid 16k actuation and never had an issue. There are Web sites you can go on when you take a picture and upload, paste into the site and it will tell you how many actuation.
@@officialgtech I got around 200k shutter count on my d40 which I bought new more than ten years ago. The d40 sometimes will report error randomly. So I bought a used Nikon d7000.
could you suggest a program for windows that i can check the shutter of the camera?
I always go into live view mode for the camera's mirror to lock up so I can peek at the sensor for damage. On Canon anyways.

@@jmc2647 You remove the lens from the camera. Put the camera in live view. And then it exposes the sensor to see if there’s damage or scratches on it. You turn off the camera and it closes the shutter

1st seller got the CANON EOS650D with two lens,and no problem at all accept the vignette.
and the 2nd guy got the Nikon D5200 with one lens that cannot autofocus but the body still in good condition..and can use manual focus for the lens.

eBay buyer protection will save you if something wasn't disclosed properly in the listing. Only place I'll buy used online. You can negotiate a partial refund if it is a minor issue, or make a return even if the seller doesn't offer them if it's something major.

@@mondobytes Do you know if there is any of the newer Canons with a similar film look? I've noticed the newer HD camcorders and DSLRs even from Canon compared to an older one I have from them , I prefer the older HD Camcorder (when there is adequate lighting). I can't put my finger on it but it feels like there's more of a film look.

There is plenty of resources online to help yourself decide. If you’re buying canon I would get something like 1300D 750D maybe a 2000 or 4000D. These are all good entry level although 2000 and 4000 are fairl stripped down :)
