Stayed there for almost 3 years ... It is a beautiful place. People I met were friendly, although you really can not neglect the fact that it is indeed very dangerous. I have friends who have experienced being robbed by rascals and despite not fighting back, they sustained injuries.
I also lived in Papua New Guinea for three years, I started schooling there and want to visit again, most people were very friendly and going to markets was an amazing experience.
It's sad, as rascals will target Papua New Guineans too. as well as others. The nice thing however which i don't see in so-called developed countries is, people will actually go out of their way to help anyone who was robbed or something of that sort. So rascals themselves know that in the event that they do get caught, they should pray the police get there before the public gives them a taste of their own medicine.
My parents served in the Peace Corps back in the late 1980's. My mom always wanted to go back, she loved the people! It scared me to death though, when they were there. Very dangerous, and even cannibalism at that time. She wrote a book about her experience and in closing the book, she said she WOULD go back if it was the last thing. Now I have her ashes in a box and want to take her back. Thank you for sharing this video!

Port Moresby is not as bad as most people think. Just like any other city in the world, you don't go certain locations at certain specific times. I wouldn't go to Brazil and walk into the Favilas between 11PM-5 AM.
As someone who has traveled to all sorts of bad cities all over the world... I just want everyone to know, these places rarely live up to their expectations of being extremely violent... Most of the time you go out and you don't even see a street fight like you would at your local bar.... Alot of times these ideas are sparked by people who are simply afraid of the population no matter what they do... That's doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful, but don't let fear ruin or completely halt your trip.... if you think hard enough, they probably call multiple cities in your country "dangerous" when in fact you know it's not that bad... We are more closer to Asians then africans. Our skin is black cause PNG is right in the middle of the equator so it gets really hot here.
I as a neighboring country of Papua (PNG) could not distinguish between Africans and Papuans, I have met West Papuan people (Papuan Indonesia) in Jakarta, at first I thought he was African, I was wrong..

PNG is not southeast Asia, but the Pacific Islands, including the continent of Australasia..

Who is beautifullest city jakarta or port moresby
Fauzan Zuhdi ,,,disana itu orangnya barbar bro,,texaslah pokoknya, maling, palak, begal dimana2,,lu kalo naik motor disana ibarat nyetor nyawa lu ke para begal,,apalagi pendatang atau traveller kudu hati2 disana bro...fyi port moresby salah satu kota di dunia dengan tingkat kriminalitas tertinggi, nha lho....
Most beautiful kali masnya. Kalau Jakarta dibandingin sama Port Moresby jauh sih. Port Moresby lebih tidak aman dibanding Jakarta
Hahaha kata siapa...?? Port moresby ngk aman 😂...?? Udh berapa kali ke PNG 😂😂 klo ngk tau ngk baik klo ngomong kek gitu aku org jawa tapi campuan papua dan kami sekelurga sering ke papua dan Png Klo liburan ngk ada tuh yg jahat jahat apalagi begall dan segalah macam di sana org org akan memperlalukan kita bagaimana kita memperlakukan mereka klo kita baik dengan hati yg tulus yg mereka ada melakukan hal yg sama ke kita 🙏🙏 klo belum tau ttg negara tetanga mending diam ajh dosa klo ngk tau trus sok tau segalah 😇🙏
+Thothozique 77 Lu dengar dimana disana barbar semua?? Stop bicara yg palsu.
It's not that scary you have to blend in with the locals beautyfull especially the ladys😁😍🤩
Yes you're right 😊😂😂
SP = yum
I wouldn't let someone pay me to go to that place.
Good ! Idiots easily brainwashed by biased media aren't welcome.
@@mteokay1246 dude it is LITERALLY STATISTICAL PROVEN one of the most dangerous places on Earth. Your country needs to get itself together it's obviously a hell hole
@@mteokay1246 the government is corrupt. There is at least TEN TIMES the violent crime there then in the two countries right next to you. Get it together.
@@mteokay1246 unfortunately it seems like certain races cannot handle independence. Look at South Africa. It was the riches country in Africa and within years under black rule it has become corrupt and full of crime like all other black run countries.
It looks like there is nothing there to see, which is why no one has gone there and developed it.
Papua New-Guinea’s always-seemed like such a beautifully-niche nation. I’m sure this clip of the capital (as aesthetically-polished as it happens-to be) doesn’t-quite do justice to the inner beauty of this country but for an amateur outsider it’s a start. I really wouldn’t-mind visiting.
(And yh. I really-am about that pedantic-hyphenation life now. Dash-for-dash, innit.)
