A Botticelli Angel.
She's still beautiful. Love her voice!
She is so hauntingly beautiful.. Will never forget this movie.
Everything begins and ends at exactly the right place and time.
Yes that's 👍
Ann Lambert was made for that role........timeless elegance. Martin Dale Hall - if those walls could talk what a tale they would tell. Walking through there one could feel that hauntingly beautiful echo of the past. History never to be repeated. Must be preserved at all costs
Thing is, thats not the school building that was near hanging rock on Mt. Macedon. Clyde was
We never saw enough of this actress.
She was in an episode of the Sherlock Holmes TV series. The one which Jeremy Brett played Holmes.
They all are beautiful. ❤♍🇵🇱
Always MIRANDA....
Just stumbled across this.. Yes, Anne Lambert is still a haunting presence (is it her hair, her face or some other quality? She seems a tad otherworldly, and I mean that with the greatest possible respect) and the film, of course, is one of the most arresting works of art ever made. The soundtrack alone makes me teary-eyed..
Classy lady, still beautiful. Her voice is the same, lovely. Picnic at Hanging Rock is a masterpiece. Martindale Hall is amazing.
You were so beautiful in this pic. And still are by the looks of things. You still have a gentle voice.
She is still beautiful and charming.
Of course her voice , too.
Australias best period film ever made and peter Weirs best also the film is a time capsule of Australia in 1900.The film score was magical yet mystical which added to the compelling element of the movie.
What amazes me most is that they actually used that house for the ouside shots AND the inside...very unique.
We are all very glad that Anne Lambert unlike Miranda St. Clair did not disappear forever at Hanging Rock.
Oh wow! The original Miranda! Walking through various rooms there, including the original Irma Leopold's room, where I got to stay the night about five years ago. Fancy that!!! The place is virtually the same now as when the film was made. And I got to stay the night there. Alone! It was very special, to say the least.
It's amazing that this beautiful house was only built in 1879. Because of its Palladian façade, I always thought it was at least 100 years older.
what a beautiful place! anne's voice is also very calming to me. i love everything about this movie
Such an Amazing movie. Ann is a classic beauty. Like a Botticelli angel
Still beautiful.
Wonderful lady xx
I see she has been found finally :) and she longs for the eternal aspects of the soul with sentimental feelings manifested in this beautiful building.
Picnic at Hanging Rock is such an important part of Aus literature and film. Glad to see Martindale Hall is being preserved :)
This woman has always been beautiful. Inside and out.
One of movie’s most beautiful, and mysterious... women,. Miranda,
What a beautiful person
Of course all my support, Miss Lambert, so kind, beautiful, charming actress, mind coach, and lady...
I hope the place stays preserved as it was/is. How I would love to visit there and Hanging Rock even more so.
I saw her in 1994 in a GBS play called Heartbreak House with Donald Pleasance. She was beautiful to see in person and a great actress. I would love to actually meet her one day
A perfect movie and a wonderful woman
Miranda,with angelic apearance
i love her and her voice
Picnic at Hanging Rock remains one of the best Australian films ever made, indeed one of the best films ever made anywhere.
I am glad that Martindale Hall has been preserved for the public to see and enjoy and to recall scenes from the film. Movie magic bring what it is, Martindale Hall is shown in the film as being only a short carriage ride away from the Rock whereas in reality Martindale Hall is not far Adelaide in South Australia whereas Hanging Rock lies close to Melbourne in Victoria, a long, long away.
I am glad (at least as far as I know) that Anne Lambert, who played Miranda, is still alive and well, as is Karen Robson (I believe that is her name) who played Irma, the only one of the 3 missing girls ever seen again. Sadly, Jane Vallis, who played the third missing girl, Marion, has since died. Dominic Guard, who played Michael, was seen briefly in the film Gandhi a few years later, and John Jarrett, who played Albert, played the killer in Wolf Creek. Jackie Weaver, who played one of the staff in Martindale Hall, is still acting, notably in Silver Lining Playbook in 2012. Rachael Roberts, who played the headmistress Mrs. Appleyard, died in 1980. I don’t know whether Helen Morse, who played the French schoolmistress, is still acting but I have not seen her in any film or TV series recently.
Director Peter Weir went on to make other great Australian films like Gallipoli and other international films but again, I have not seen his name in films for the last few years. He may have retired by now.
Picnic at Hanging Rock will always remain in the memory as a truly great film and I hope it will be shown in cinemas again for the 50th anniversary of its making in 2025. It certainly deserves to be shown again on the big screen - the haunting and eerie atmosphere was perfectly captured and the music fitted the film so well, , notably the Emperor Concerto by Beethoven.
You can still see the young Miranda in her eyes
Great to watch the film means so much to my life
I love it!!! MIRANDA!!
Miss you Miranda always my first crush !
She's alive!
So touching heart memory was miranda😢
My god, she sounds just the same. Oh Miranda!
.Miss you Miranda always!!
she was fiction
K Veneris Yes but the character she portrayed disappeared.
Wow 🤩. My favourite girl 👧 Anne from the picnic has come back to life ?Actually Miranda was my favourite 😻.
A haunting film adorned by a beautiful cast in a magnificent setting
Beethoven wrote the single most beautiful piece of music I ever heard here. The film changed my life.
Oh yes. It always reminds me of Irma lying in bed after being found.
Yeah, Beethoven's music from his fifth piano concerto - "Emperor" - is amazing! Just like Miranda's farewell wave to Mlle de Poitiers at the very end, as if she is bidding goodbye to the world. The frame freezes as she turns away, to stress that finality. I love those slow moving pictures and Beethoven's music - absolutely perfect!
I would like to suggest another piece of music by Beethoven that could have been included as well:
Romance No.2 in F for violin and orchestra.
She is also exquisite in the British Sherlock Holmes episode of The Abbey Grange, which I believe she made around the age of thirty.
Miranda is back home ❤️
dulu dia cantik banget
preserve it please
I know her from an episode of jeremy brett's sherlock holmes
Apparently Rachel Roberts was a bit, let us say difficult, but still, it was a tragic end to such a wonderful actress. RIP
Certain movies excel due to castings, PatHR does, among many other aspects as well.
Martindale Hall is a gorgeous place. How far from Hanging Rock is it?
Hello, Martindale Hall (including the gymnasium from the movie) is about one and a half hours drive from Adelaide (at a place called Mintaro)
Hanging Rock is about an hour and a half from Melbourne
Now I know...
Wow must visit one day.
sejarang dia juga cantik
Unfortunately in the US we don't have anything like the National Trust. Many of the grand houses built in this country during the Gilded Age and after were demolished when they became too expensive for the original builders' descendants to maintain.
Thank you Miranda, thank you Beethoven.
This building looks as though it was plucked from the English countryside and moved to Australia.
So this is what Miranda would have looked like in 1949, had she not disappeared .
So she hasn't been abducted by UFOs
