Australia
Приєднався 21 гру 2016
The National Trust of South Australia (NTSA) was founded on the simple and enduring idea that people need historic, beautiful and natural places. NTSA is a leading community organisation for the protection, preservation and promotion of SA's built, cultural and natural heritage. We are part of a worldwide movement of more than six million people in more than 60 countries committed to the future sustainability of our cultural heritage and natural environment.
NTSA manages 125 historic places and nature reserves with the support of our members and volunteers across the state. We advocate for effective protections and investment in sustaining our heritage and deliver unique experiences and learning opportunities for people of all ages in a range of indoor and outdoor environments. We undertake cultural and natural heritage regeneration projects to create social and economic value for the community. We are an independent community voice for the future of our heritage.

So this is what Miranda would have looked like in 1949, had she not disappeared .
It's amazing that this beautiful house was only built in 1879. Because of its Palladian façade, I always thought it was at least 100 years older.
They all are beautiful. ❤♍🇵🇱
You were so beautiful in this pic. And still are by the looks of things. You still have a gentle voice.
What amazes me most is that they actually used that house for the ouside shots AND the inside...very unique.
Wow must visit one day.
Un film inoubliable que j'avais vu en 1975 et ai revu aujourd'hui en 2023 . J'ai le même âge que Anne Lambert ! Elle est toujours aussi magnifique ! ❤❤
Now I know...
This building looks as though it was plucked from the English countryside and moved to Australia.
Picnic at Hanging Rock remains one of the best Australian films ever made, indeed one of the best films ever made anywhere. I am glad that Martindale Hall has been preserved for the public to see and enjoy and to recall scenes from the film. Movie magic bring what it is, Martindale Hall is shown in the film as being only a short carriage ride away from the Rock whereas in reality Martindale Hall is not far Adelaide in South Australia whereas Hanging Rock lies close to Melbourne in Victoria, a long, long away. I am glad (at least as far as I know) that Anne Lambert, who played Miranda, is still alive and well, as is Karen Robson (I believe that is her name) who played Irma, the only one of the 3 missing girls ever seen again. Sadly, Jane Vallis, who played the third missing girl, Marion, has since died. Dominic Guard, who played Michael, was seen briefly in the film Gandhi a few years later, and John Jarrett, who played Albert, played the killer in Wolf Creek. Jackie Weaver, who played one of the staff in Martindale Hall, is still acting, notably in Silver Lining Playbook in 2012. Rachael Roberts, who played the headmistress Mrs. Appleyard, died in 1980. I don’t know whether Helen Morse, who played the French schoolmistress, is still acting but I have not seen her in any film or TV series recently. Director Peter Weir went on to make other great Australian films like Gallipoli and other international films but again, I have not seen his name in films for the last few years. He may have retired by now. Picnic at Hanging Rock will always remain in the memory as a truly great film and I hope it will be shown in cinemas again for the 50th anniversary of its making in 2025. It certainly deserves to be shown again on the big screen - the haunting and eerie atmosphere was perfectly captured and the music fitted the film so well, , notably the Emperor Concerto by Beethoven.
I think Frank has a Thomas the Tank Engine on top of his wardrobe. Top Right hand side.
Most informative, thanks Michelle
Great work Pas, and many thanks to all who contributed
She is so hauntingly beautiful.. Will never forget this movie.
thank you for you work in preserving some of our important mining history here. and excellent work with the way your'e replicating, as closely as possible the original mortar's and construction techniques they used back in the day.
Wonderful to see such vital SA Built Heritage taken care of.
I love it!!! MIRANDA!!
Her enthusiasm is infectious. It is so heartwarming to know how open and generous this family and this woman are with their history and their home. Also, aren't Edmund Bowman Jr and his eventual bride, Annie Cowle both very handsome? What an intriguing couple!
Unfortunately in the US we don't have anything like the National Trust. Many of the grand houses built in this country during the Gilded Age and after were demolished when they became too expensive for the original builders' descendants to maintain.
Still beautiful.
I like @SandyWilkinson 's thinking
Wonderful lady xx
What future? The diesel shortage will bring everything to a standstill and soon "a loaf of bread will cost a days wages" (see Revelation 6.6). We are living in the E N D times, the 7year Tribulation with the Antichrist is right around the corner, that's GOD'S judgement upon all unbelievers! But there is hope - get saved and be rapture ready: accept JESUS CHRIST as your Lord and Savior today!!! Please study biblical end times prophecy; listen to Dr. Ron Rhodes on end times chronology. Blessings from Canada PS: forage for Kudzu and other edible plants and tubers.
I see she has been found finally :) and she longs for the eternal aspects of the soul with sentimental feelings manifested in this beautiful building.
Certain movies excel due to castings, PatHR does, among many other aspects as well.
She is still beautiful and charming. Of course her voice , too.
영화 잘 봤어요 너무 아름답고 신비로운 영화에요
The South Australian government is determined to destroy SA history and then try and mask it as progress. Well so things need to be left alone and looked after for the people of SA, so we can continue to be connected to our past. Shame on you SA government, stop and think about what the people want for a change and stop destroying our heritage.
😃 Promo-SM!
We are all very glad that Anne Lambert unlike Miranda St. Clair did not disappear forever at Hanging Rock.
Fantastic, and a great idea to cut the vid into individual parts. Great work !
It seems a completely unnecessary for Ayres House to be taken over by the SA History Trust and a catering firm. Ayres House is closely tied to the history of SA and is too special to turn into offices and function centre. Interestingly 55 years ago my sister, as a first year trainee nurse, was accommodated there and we all thought then the building was far too important to SA to be used for that purpose. Why can't the History Trust and Function Centre be accommodated at the Lot 14 site. There is a massive amount of space over there which will surely house them attracting many visitors to that site and give the History Trust a bigger exposure to the public and tourists. This will benefit the History Trust and leave Ayres House as another tourist venue to Lot 14, the Botanic Gardens and the Wine Centre.
She is also exquisite in the British Sherlock Holmes episode of The Abbey Grange, which I believe she made around the age of thirty.
The treatment of the National Trust is a disgrace ! The possible treatment of this iconic site, should be seen no less than a heritage crime ! Is this the grand design for the future of our built heritge, the desire to extinguish a charitable trust at Martindale Hall...grubby hands and puffed shirts, with no idea about the protection of OUR state heritage !
A haunting film adorned by a beautiful cast in a magnificent setting
Such an Amazing movie. Ann is a classic beauty. Like a Botticelli angel
Martindale Hall should not be sold. It belongs to the nation. Our children have precious little knowledge of their history. They have a perfect example of a building that is meaningful to south Australians: are they to be deprived of a place that gives them a sense of the past? "Not to know what has happened in the world before you came in it is to remain an immature being." Who said that? I have forgotten but how apt that saying is.
What a beautiful person
what a beautiful place! anne's voice is also very calming to me. i love everything about this movie <3
This woman has always been beautiful. Inside and out. One of movie’s most beautiful, and mysterious... women,. Miranda,
Everything begins and ends at exactly the right place and time.
Yes that's 👍
Classy lady, still beautiful. Her voice is the same, lovely. Picnic at Hanging Rock is a masterpiece. Martindale Hall is amazing.
A perfect movie and a wonderful woman
Wow 🤩. My favourite girl 👧 Anne from the picnic has come back to life ?Actually Miranda was my favourite 😻.
