  • In December 2021, a talking crow named Cosmo went viral after befriending a southern Oregon elementary school. But it turned out Cosmo had enemies, and a dark side. Some neighbors felt terrorized by the bird. The police had been contacted - multiple times - about Cosmo swooping and pecking kids in the neighborhood.
    Then Cosmo went missing.
What followed was a sprawling investigation into his disappearance: Did someone shoot Cosmo? Who would’ve had the motive, means and opportunity? And who was Cosmo, really? A victim or a villain?
It’s become kind of a whodunit mystery. Except there was no crime committed, because killing a crow like Cosmo would have been completely legal.
This is parts 1-12 strung together into one long video.

Despite the lack of resolution, this was a delightful story, and hit a perfect spot between somber and lighthearted. I hope Cosmo's human friends can get closure someday.

Crows and Ravens are very smart and social animals if the neighbors had issues it was likely that they treated him wrong and he had a grudge as has been shown to be a thing with these types of birds.

Let nature be nature. Leave the work to the wildlife rehabilitators who have the education and tools to take care of wild animals in need, people need to quit trying to be Disney princesses and re-learn respect for the living world.
