Wish I had seen this video before my port was placed ! I was a nervous wreck just finding out I had colon cancer . I’ve been in remission 2 years but I still have my port placed. Thank you so very much for sharing this video so I can recommend to someone else that might have to go thru the same thing we went . But I pray to God that it won’t be needed ! May God Bless you always as well as your family ❤️🥰

Thank you for sharing your experience! I will have my port put in within the next 2 weeks. Pretty nervous about it, so just hearing your story made it a bit easier on my mind.

Thank you for telling your story I was diagnosed with breast cancer and cancer in my lymph nodes I still don't think it has sunk in. I am so scared even though I know it will all be o.k. I'm having my port put in on April 14th and my first chemo on the 16th. I have a great support with my family and friends. I just can't get past being scared but listening to you seemed to ease some of my fears thank you for that. Your young and beautiful and you will be fine. I'm 65 with 2 beautiful grandaughters and I'm going to be around until I'm a great grandma. God Bless you and keep your videos coming Diane

Completed my 12th chemo cycle. Having robotic surgery this Thursday January 14th. Wish me luck.

Justed wanted to say thank you for your videos!! I was diagnosed this time last year 12/11.. HL stage 3A. I did 6 cycles of ABVD, and have been in remission for 9 months... I wish I had something like this while I was going through my journey. I just wanted to thank you for this even watching it now, it makes me feel not alone... so thank you and I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!!

Wonderful video. I have my breast cancer surgery next Monday. I'll be having chemo, and will be getting a port. I was afraid of getting it, but I'm a brave old lady and I will be watching you. God bless you and a speedy recovery.

Hi Amanda, thank you for your bravery and honesty. I am going this week to get my port installed for endometrial cancer. I am stage 3. Like you, I am strong, but also dealing with fear knocking on my emotional door. I refuse to let it in. I know this is what it is and really and grateful for your video. I am going to watch all the videos now. I will comment more as I go.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I get my port tomorrow. I have Lynch syndrome. It's been a tough ride so far after my surgery. But after watching this video I'm feeling a lot more confident about my future six months of chemotherapy.
Thanks for this video. I start chemo 1st week of April and have had some slight anxiety. This video was very helpful for me to know what to expect. Praying that you will beat your cancer. Prayers for you.
Thank you. Getting port placed next week for follicular non Hodgkins lymphoma. I am a retired nurse so this has been educational & a learning experience for me!

My port was inserted on Monday and my chemo was the next day so I know how sore you were but the setup runs smoothly.
I was just diagnosed with colorectal cancer a fee weeks ago. I watched my mom fight breast cancer and win then she got ovarian cancer and she fought that for years. I watched her suffer and it scares me to death just thinking about everything. Thank you for making this video. It gives me a little insight on what's to come. God bless you!
Hello. My name is Tony from Clint. I have been scheduled for a port this coming Monday. I am nervous, but listening to you brings me comfort. My cancer is in the colon region. I say my prayers and with God, I am at peace.
Tony Lopez ...hi Tony..noticed your post and hope the port surgery went well yesterday. Mid January I had emergency surgery to remove part of my colon that ruptured. I've had some delays and have not had port insertion yet. Now the virus postponed my appointment. Would you be interested in supporting each other, maybe via email? Just respond to this either way. Thank you for your video. I have stage 3 ovarian cancer and got my port yesterday. Mine to was extremely sore and tight. My first chemo is on the 7th of October so my port gets a week to heal. I hope my goes as well. God bless
My oncologist prescribed a lidocaine cream for the chemo port before each use.
"Chemo" is a very, very high level description of the cancer infusion process and varies substantially depending on many factors that determine the "recipe" given and its frequency.
Unless you are the mirror image of this woman, your reaction will be different.....for better or worse.
Even the timing of this particular video may be misleading. My infusions took place on Tuesdays and the effects didn't kick in until Thursday or Friday. The video I'd make on Wednesday was very different (night vs day) than Friday or the weekend, if I could make a video at all.

Great video, I just got diagnosed on 07/08/2013 with Non hodgkins lymphoma and this has helped me alot, Thank you for your inspiration.
Had port put in, tomorrow chemo, very little swelling, no pain, very smooth nothing to complain about had very professional Dr. Piece of cake compared to yours.💞
I just got my port placed this morning and have my first chemo tomorrow. I’m pretty anxious but your video makes me feel better.

Hi Amanda..! God bless you first of all.. your courage and your optimistic approach is very relieving ... my mother is getting a her port tomorrow .... she has stage 1b endometriosis.... it his us like a lightening bolt .... this is the first time someone from the family had gotten sick ..... and the shock was brutal... especially being my mother.... she is really scared .... i guess from the unknown... thank God she has a close friend that had stage 2 breast cancer and got through it( thanks God.! ) and is comforting her ... i actually have been so worried and stressed i cant even think strait anymore... just knowing how terrified she is brakes my heart...... we are at the point now where we just want to start it and get it over with..... doctors said after treatment there is only a 25% of the cancer ever coming back.. which are pretty good chances .... anyway just wanted to say your optimism is comforting and hope you are well....! GOD BLESS EVERYONE
I never try to act scared in front of her .. i always tell her your going to do it.. i guess it takes the first treatment to get that out of the way i guess.... do you think she should shave her head before first treatment ???? Because i see you didnt... my thought was get it cut before it falls out because watching your hair fall out might not be good for her recovery ...what is your though?? Thanks

Thanks for posting. I was diagnosed with stage 2 grade 3 invasive ductal carsinoma. I am supposed to get my port put in early next week.
i was diagnosed with the same thing just 2 weeks ago. the port is going in on friday and I'm scared to death.

I had surgery a month ago for colon cancer , they removed a fist sized tumor from my colon leaving me with a colostomy. I am starting chemo in 4 day's and having the port placed in 4 days and the chemo will start the week after. I am in stage 3 colon cancer with it in my lymph system in 3 nodes which I am praying the chemo will kill and I can have the ostomy reversed in a year but they said I will have the port for a year after the chemo is finished. I have to say I'm a little confused with everything happening so quickly and there are other areas of concern they have to look at after this part if over and I admittedly am scared. I only hope that my experience is close to yours and isn't terrible like after the surgery was for me, so much pain. Thank you for sharing your experience you are helping people.

Thanks for sharing. We who have walked this road of chemotherapy have an understanding. I am getting my port put in tomorrow. I have breast cancer. I also get tired from my chemo treatments. I am thankful that I am getting my port put in. My veins are pretty much done with the I.V. treatments. Regards.

Amanda, you are 1 Strong Blonde! I have been searching for port insertion vid's; having mine place in around 9am today (haven't been able to sleep all night). Nervous about this procedure. I've had a double mastectomy so my chest is a little messed up with implants... I'm a total optimistic - I've had Breast Cancer twice; Thyroid Cancer twice and now I am going to start Chemo in about 10 days for my 5th bout of Lung Cancer. Haven't had Chemo - everything else and I am like you were... worried about the unknown. You helped me a lot, Thanks so much. I am HOPE and pray you are well!

Mines is liver cancer they said it was a mass but it’s liver cancer when I had my biopsy 🙏 thanks I know I will survive this and I will be there for anybody any time in a heartbeat those are my prayers thanks again young lady🙏

I have a port as well I suggest getting the lidocaine numbing creme to rub on the outside of your skin or wherever you are being stuck helps alot your doctor will write you a prescription.
Had my procatheter installed. Kinda sore, but all is good. I dread the hair falling off next week as my chemo begins on Monday. Surely when this blows over, I can regain my flocks.

How old is your daughter? I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on Friday :( Thankfully they found it during stage 1 but it looked like if we didn't it at the time we did it could have gotten to stage 2. The outer part of my tumor started to look like they were gonna become malignant. My oncologist really wants me to do chemo even though we probably got it all :( I really hope your daughter is doing well!
Thanks, she's coming along, She just turned 24 in February, she just had her first chemo treatment, she's stage 2 and they believe they found it all, but chemo was suggested by her oncologist as a preventive measure, your in my prayers, I Pray everything goes well with you.

Went well. Little sore. I get my chemo on Wednesday the 8th. Wish me luck. I worry about my immune system since it will not be as strong. With the virus going along I could become the next victim. I'm 61 and already suffer from type 2 diabetes.

I just got home from the hospital from getting my port in and I'm really sore but I have non hodgkin's lymphoma
hi I have a question I have had these knots on the left side of my neck the doc keeps saying that is an infection but I really don't thinkm it is they have came back four times and this last time It is about a nickel size and there are two I also have a knot right behind my ear lobe and that has been there for 2 months and has knot chaged at all and these knots are very painfull please let me know what I should do what kind of test I should ask for and im very apt to getting cancer because my mom and dad both died of it thank u have a great day

I had my port put in yesterday. Chemo in 2 weeks, not looking forward to that.. never would let them do Chemo until its heald. Thats crazy.
I was just told I had cancer, will be seeing my oncology Dr this coming Thursday, I'm sure I'll be approved for chemo, 3 months of it then a hysterectomy, I'm scared to death, Dr did say I'm not terminal, so I guess that's a good thing

My mom has stage 4 ovarian cancer. I am her caregiver.
I have been with her through paracentesis procedures, tumor removals, numerous hospital stays, and chemotherapy.
She might have to get a chest port due to the chemotherapy.

I was diagnosed stage 3 invasive breast cancer i will get my port jan 13 iam scard but i being hopeful and positive. But please repply and tell me what to expect cause iam scard

My doctors told me I will lose all my hair, lashes, brows
and even body hair. If I go with a wig, people will still
see I have no lashes , brows plus I have deep set eyes
so that puts makeup out of the picture.
I am going to oncologist-hematologist on Friday to
be set up for the port I belive and antibiotic meds
I don't know when the Chemo starts

Hey I was just curious if you ever went back to the other oncologist and heard what she/he had to say. If they gave you the same diagnosis and treatment/chemo duration. I love your haircut too!!
