As a Norwegian i always loved our landscape, but many people go to warmer climates once the cold settles in. I personally always appreciated the harsh, haunting beauty of the mountains, the untouched forests and the abyssal fjords during the dark periods.
I am autistic, have photophobic eyes and circulation problems. In other words, a cold, dark, isolated forest filled only with the whispers of forgotten folklore is where I long to be.
I'm from Poland, but I must say that is one of the best music I've ever heard. Even I'm very angry, exhausted or sad this song make me feel better. Today I noted that on your profile is more that kind of music so I subscribe you and I'm listening to... Thank you for that.
I lived in snow for many many years (and did many winter sports), but Maui is as close to heaven on earth as you can get. Someday though I would like to visit the country of my ancestors (Norway). Both of my grandmothers were Norwegian (one's maiden name was Rorvik).
It's so sweet for us Swedes. We don't have to go to the other side of the world (like New Zealand) to experience exotic and beautiful locations. We just cross the border to Norway. We have some nice scenery in Sweden too (towards the Norweigan border ;P) though Sweden is mostly made up by endless pine forest. Especally in the north where I live.
Norden er ingenting uten våres gode frendefolk, vi har bodd her sammen så lenge at vi hører naturlig til her. som mosen på steinen. Jeg tror på bedre tider for vårt folk.
So beautiful...I will go there someday if it's the last thing I do. What a gorgeous country. You Norwegians are lucky. I wish my country was so beautiful...America can be so boring.
@pesuhiir I live in Poland and I'd love to move here too. Beautiful Norwegian landscape feautring mountains and dense forest. This beautiful cold winter is what I am looking for. These things are very inspiring (black metal for example, hehe).

Very good choice of music and photos. Good work. Thank you for it.
A lot of the names in Skyrim have scandinavian origin (norwegian among others). Remember the eye of magnus and the staff of magnus? Magnus is a pretty common name in sweden which makes the "eye of magnus" sound pretty ridiculous in a scandinavian players ears. ^^
When I die I would like to be near to my Swedish background as a PodTree Burial.. I could feed a beautiful Tree and live longer in my homeland .How lovely this seems.
Finland has lots of lakes, Sweden has endless reaches of pine forest, Denmark is very flat and Norway has tall mountains, valleys and forest, all of the north is beautifull, where I live in Eastern Norway (Østfold) the valleys and forest's are beautifull in the winter and in the summer and I could never live annywhere else.
@Jadeperkins Indeed there is, I'm finnish and Lapland's winter is just fantastic. I might move to Norway if I can, just because the winter landscape is breathtaking and i love snow ;)
oh wow...this is really an awesome vid...great pics, did I say ? @Vikingskog, did u snap all these by yourself ? On the cold weather, I like that and the snow. Liking it or not, I guess, all depends on how well prepared you are for the winter. If you have good friends to accompany you indoor or outdoor; then one can have a wonderful time even in the harshest of winters.
Im from Reno, Nevada...its a little too warm here for me, but when its winter I like to go up into the mountains and pretend im in Norway, hopefully one day I will finally have enough money to actually see Norway during winter.
My ancestors are Germanic and i am 70% germanic norse and i love the music and the life they had yes there was blood and violence but there where peaceful times and i wish i could go back in time and be one of them and drink mead in the great halls of a long house
I am so glad that my mother did not abort me.. I feel the great and magnificent Nordic blood running through my veins while listening to this wonderful music.. pulls me into a once world which seems a million years ago.. and comforting. Yes, I am different.
Okay Vikingskog my brother and I are coming to Norway in 2011. We want to hike there and connect with relatives. Oh yeah and see Helen Boksle in concert (if we can).
@Vikingskog I agree, ive always preferred the warm to the cold. I am looking to move to Tromsø next year from England. I was wondering, what do the Norwegians think of English people/ British people. PS - I LOVE YOUR COUNTRY!!! :D
@Kvergjelme haha, belive it or not I lived in Hawaii for around 12 years, it was too warm for me. I love the snow and the cold. You should be happy! You guys get the most epic winters ever! (Just try to forget about the possibility of freezing to death and shoveling snow)
I really, really don't know why i am watching this video, I can literally turn around have the same view from my window.Well, the forest picture ones, at least. Because that is more or less exactly the way it looks where i live. Hedmark, Norway.
I'm from Minnesota, the hotseat of Norwegian ancestry in the US, and it's always been said that Minnesota attracted Norwegians because the terrain is so similar to what is found in Norway. When I saw this video, it's really relaxing cause it looks just like my home, particularly Northeastern Minnesota.
I should post some pictures of the mountains here. They are beautiful too. It's a different kind of beauty. Now as far as beautiful women go then I would have to say that Norway is way better than Hawaii.
Hmmm...very beautiful, but I live on Maui and there is no way I would want to live in a cold climate again...even though I am half Norwegian and have family there.
I can't live anywhere else. I'm made for winter and freezeing temperatures, the winters here were I live( In a valley in Nordland, up North) can reach -42 grader celsius, that's the coldest I've experiensed :S I like the summer too tough... :P
And could you tell the rest of the songs? They are pretty amazing too. I can't install the program "Tunatic" on this computer, so I can't check these songs just from the listening ;(

I agree (from the US)
I must visit Scandinavia someday, in winter
I totally agree
I want to move to finmark just to spite the Germanic god of the winter
I am autistic, have photophobic eyes and circulation problems. In other words, a cold, dark, isolated forest filled only with the whispers of forgotten folklore is where I long to be.
I hace seen this video thousands of times... and still love it.

So beautiful... So breathtaking! This is where I should belong. Man, my dad's in Norway right now... I wish I could be there with him. .-.

I cannot cope with hot weather and Nordic through and through. Such beautiful harmonies.
Id rather be freezing all day any day than be overly warm even slightly
I feel lucky and proud to live in this country.
Norway is perfect
Kseniya Herman I would rather live there than England.
i bet the singer of this song is perfect, too.
Are you from Norway? I am literally in love with that country and am going to move there soon.

Bästa grannlandet! Norge är bäst!
Winters here in Norway can be both beautiful and extremely cold at the same time. -35 °C last year :)
I'm from Canada...winters here seem easy when I compare them to the winter in this video.
Love you Norway
@Vikingskog hehe, riktig! veldig bra video!!
So do I! And when spring comes, it feels like we really deserve every sunbeam after a harsh winter :)
OMG i love it!!

Beautiful video... Song sounds familiar, I wonder where I've heard it before... ;p
Name of the first song please?
Love from Ontario Canada and it's going to be 28c in September :p
Yes, this is why I love Norway. Personally I live in Estonia and it's too hot here for me, but I want to move to Northern Norway verry much...
@Jadeperkins Indeed there is, I'm finnish and Lapland's winter is just fantastic. I might move to Norway if I can, just because the winter landscape is breathtaking and i love snow ;)

@Flyingfast79 :) Bukkene Bruse -- Miriams Voggelåt, and sings it Arve Moen Bergset.
Can somebody please direct me to more music that sounds like the first singer? I need more dark and melodic Scandinavian singing.
One of my favourites
@Vikingskog Yes, but I think we have a bit colder winters, at least sometimes. This winter it got to -30 C. I want to move to Tromsö.
@smolarek7890
Sounds exactly like a song from the Age of Conan MMO-game soundtrack. Can't remember the exact name. But gawd, did I love this tune!
Perfecta melodia para ascender al vallhala y con isengard al final..
It's a beautifull land!
I should post some pictures of the mountains here. They are beautiful too. It's a different kind of beauty. Now as far as beautiful women go then I would have to say that Norway is way better than Hawaii.
@imabadking I'm from Norway, or Bergen:) The winters in norway are lovely, but for the moment, its just rainy and windy up here in North :/
I think it's Helene Bøksle. Might actually be the musical score from the video game Age of Conan. Just check her up on youtube.
First song title : "The Dreaming Anew- Memories of Cimmeria" with Helene Bøksle (female singer) for "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures Soundtrack"
Someday, I will go....
been here yet?
Суровая красота)
Háil den Göttern und Háil Midgárd!
This makes me miss Norway immensely :(
Holy are the forests and mountains of Norway...
Deilig å bare gå ut døra heime og se akkurat detta.
Hmmm...very beautiful, but I live on Maui and there is no way I would want to live in a cold climate again...even though I am half Norwegian and have family there.

I would really like to know who sings the first song on here, it is incredible. thanks
I love this video ^^ though I had it loud, and jumped to the ceiling at 8:42 XD
Very nice photos! What is the name of the song at 3:21(at 5:28 male vocal starts to sing)? Also, what is the name of the song that starts at 7:10?
