This piece is so charming, I can imagine two people that is always destined to meet no matter how many times the world resets. They should use this in a game or something
One of my goals for this channel is to play pieces that I have always loved but never gotten a chance to learn. Wedding Day at Troldhaugen is such a piece. In this world of social distancing, I have been granted an opportunity to pursue passions that I would otherwise not have time for, such as making these piano videos. Right now is a scary time to make a living as a musician, and yet at the same time, it is a blessing to have all the extra practice time. This video is in 4k again, the only problem is that I must figure out a faster way of doing it. This video took 92 hours to render! I hope you enjoy this video. What is a piece that you have always wanted to learn but never gotten the chance?
I'm practising V. by Rachmaninow, Op.23 No.5. It's a really challenging yet rewarding piece to play. I think also having all the extra time encourages us to pick up pieces that we have always wanted to learn. Rachmaninow is my favourite composer and I love his virtoustic romantic pieces. It allows one to be powerful yet tender at the same time. I also think it's such a blessing to have all of this extra practise time :)
@@najwaarafah183 Ahh yes, the g minor prelude, quite a challenging piece. That is another bucket list piece for me! I look forward to hearing a recording of you playing it ;)
I once had my own piano, learning songs and somtimes classical pieces, but something seems missing... Somethings not right, so i stoped and never really touched it then, but till now after i finished the game "until then" it clicked once nicole said "you just have to find the spark" now i got back into playing the piano and I'm doing really well now thanks to the motivation it gave me.
Firstly, why did I not discover this performance sooner? This piece is by far the most enjoyable to learn in my 13 years of experience. My other question is how does one start making videos in this style?
I love this piece so much!!!!! Me and my sister played this as a duet for one of our competitions. You play it so effortlessly. I might post us playing it soon😊😊
i did not realize there was a duet version, I will have to listen to it! Grieg also did a duet version of Mozart's famous Sonata in C. It's lots of fun.
I love how you wore fingerless lace gloves to this occasion! It's in the spirit of a wedding, right? ;) I'm currently learning this piece and that was beautifully played. Thanks for sharing!
@@Eusebiuspiano I've been playing only about half that. I can definitely tell that you've been playing a while though, your technique is really good :)
Piano Spiel aww, what a huge compliment. That’s amazing that you have been playing 10 years and making these videos. It’s a lot of work! It helps for motivating to practice, though!
You play it much better than I ever could. It's so hard to play that well with that little pedal. When I play it, there's so much pedal, and even then, it doesn't even sound that good lmao.
I know! Everyone has such vastly different interpretations using the pedal on this piece. I think of the fifths at the opening like a drum, but that's just me.
Thank you so much for the compliment. I learned it in 2 months, mainly because Grieg tends to have more easily recognizable chord patterns and smaller hand reaches. Stuff like Chopin and Liszt takes me ages!
@@Eusebiuspiano okay yeah i'm gonna give myself two months to perfect it, i'm challenging myself! sheesh, i wish i could play Liszt haha in a perfect world ;)

The more I listen to this piece the more I appreciate it! I looooove it!
Aww, glad you like it and are getting a chance to listen to new music!
I love it too. I once played it at a competition ...I hardly even tried though, because the person before me played Islamey, flawlessly.
@@davisatdavis1 Islamey... that is so hard! I would be intimidated.
I listen it yesterday evening performed by alice ott about 15 times
Really puts into perspective how technically challenging the piece was for Mark (or anyone) to take on

Thank you for sharing this magnificent performance, with that variety of emotions. Congratulations!.
Aww! Thank you so much! Grieg really wrote a beautiful contrast between the A and B section. The B section is a "love duet."
