    • @katrinasheets2997
      @katrinasheets2997 2 роки тому +1

      @@samanthalegall6272 No matter what type of product or enhancement you use, you always want to prep your nails by pushing the cuticle back and gently buffing any dead skin that is stuck to the natural nail. Some people don't use primer, but I recommend doing so as an assurance to avoid any issues with lifting. If you are applying any type of gel products, whether it's hard/builder gel, polygel or gel polish, you must apply a base coat or it won't stick to the natural nail. Hope this helps you!

    • @samanthalegall6272
      @samanthalegall6272 2 роки тому

      Thank u.. i tried the polygel .. prepped prime and used a base coat and I could have still peeled of my nails

    • @katrinasheets2997
      @katrinasheets2997 2 роки тому +1

      @@samanthalegall6272 Hmmmm. Let's see if we can figure it out. A few more tips that may help: You need to make sure your natural nails are completely dry. Don't do them right after taking a shower or doing dishes. A dehydrator will help pull any moisture from your nails. Make sure you are not over filing your natural nails when prepping. Just a very light buff to remove shine and any skin around the cuticle that may be stuck to the nail plate. If you file too much, product will not stick. What primer are you using? For heavy lifters 2 coats is best. But apply sparingly. You don't want to flood the cuticle area or that can cause lifting. When applying the base coat, apply very thin layer and really "scrub" it in to the nail bed. If you apply too thick, it will cause lifting. If your natural nails are thin or brittle, I suggest using a rubber base coat like the one Lissette sells, as it more flexible than regular base coat and will bend with the natural nail. Don't remove the tacky layer from the base coat before applying the polygel or hard gel. Make sure you don't get any gel or polygel on the skin, if you do clean before curing. Make sure you file the cuticle area flush after application, this will seal the area to prevent lifting. Make sure your LED lamp is strong enough to fully cure the gel products. Just because all the lights turn on doesn't mean it's working. Bulbs dim after time. I replace my lamp every year. They don't last forever. Lastly, just like anything, it takes time and practice and sometimes a little troubleshooting. Everyone is different. Some require dehydrator, some don't....you have to find what works for you by trial and error. Don't give up! I had a lot of lifting in the beginning. I found I was applying the base coat too thick, and over filing my natural nails when prepping. I also either under filed or over filed around the cuticle area after application. It just took practice to get it right. I'd love to know what primer you are using, and whether you use full cover or half tips. What do you use to apply the tips (glue or base coat?). Do you apply tips to your nails before any product such as primer or base coat? Where is the lifting occurring? Is it in the middle of the nail or around the cuticle area? If we have a little more information we may be able to help you troubleshoot better. 💕💕💕💕

    Your nail art really inspire me. I've been stuck at home waiting for surgeries for nearly 4-5 yrs now. Once I get my surgeries I'd love to volunteer to go into care homes and hospitals with patients with no visitors and do their nails, and just clean up the gentlemens hand and put cream etc on their hands. I know many people when I've been admitted more than a few times and some of these older people with no family to come check up on them get treated differently and ignored. It's disgusting!!! Don't get me wrong half of the staff are obsolete Angels but then the other half seem to take out their frustrations on the older residents. 😏 It's not fair. Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌺

    • @LissetteCruz
      @LissetteCruz  3 роки тому

      color dip is similar to acrylic. it so it'll come out a little thick and you would probably have to use it right then and their. if its regular pigment powder that will work best.

  • @REDGURL2125
    @REDGURL2125 4 роки тому +3

    You created a polygel when you mixed the hard gel and acrylic powder. Thanks for this video definitely will be using some of these techniques

    • @LissetteCruz
      @LissetteCruz  4 роки тому +1

      yes but it wasn’t as stiff or thick as Polygel. it still had the loose viscosity of the IBD builder gel. the next day it definitely had the thickness of Polygel that’s why I suggested to trash after using it as builder gel.

  • @bryannaajoyy
    @bryannaajoyy 2 роки тому +4

    Just a quick piece of information, whether the pigment you add is powder or liquid, the more you add (to the builder gel OR to the acrylic powder), the more it will effect the curing of the product. Another idea for acrylic is also to add some liquid pigment to the monomer instead of into the actual powder itself. Acrylic is made with a specific chemical makeup, so from like an actual chemistry standpoint, you shouldn’t be adding more than ~3% powdered pigment to your acrylic, otherwise that’s usually when issues with curing start. Same with the polymerizing of gel; The makeup of it is specifically calculated to FULLY cure within an allotted period of time - both can cause issues structurally if too much of something extra is added! 💜

    • @bryannaajoyy
      @bryannaajoyy 2 роки тому +3

      SIDE NOTE: if the color added to your gel is a darker color, especially if it’s a solid color, it helps to do it in layers and cure in between! Otherwise, the light doesn’t always make it through the dark/solid colored nail to completely cure it all the way through! 🥰

    Ok thinking again. Can you mix regular polish with the builder gel to make it a gel polish? I have some kleancolor metallic polish and was wondering would it mix well.

    For the acrylic mix, do you think you can try warming it up a bit to fix the gummy texture after sitting? Wouldnt it be similar to polygel? Thanks for the video! New subby 💁🏽‍♀️🖤✨

      honestly I didn’t even try I just threw it away right after I made it, couldn’t use it. it got really hard lml. but it wouldn’t hurt to try. ❤️

    Thank you for sharing this video. Question, if it normal for the bubbles to still be in the gel after mixing? I mixed my colors 24 his so and there are tons of bubbles. Could it be the pigments I used? I used Baltic Day pigment and IBD hard gel in the 8oz bottle. Thank for any insight you may have.

    • @LissetteCruz
      @LissetteCruz  2 роки тому

      so it does take a while for the bubble to go away. it takes longer if the room is on the cooler side. if you warm up the gel on a coaster warmer it'll take less time for the bubble to disappear.

    I've tried to mix acrylic with gel but it ends up being that weird consistency or more like polygel... And then because it's such a thicker grain, it's not as smooth of an application. After I cure it, it's kind of rough because of the graininess (if that make sense)
    I've been trying to make a gel the same color as Valentino's glamorous nude but maybe I'll just order the acrylic and try it or find a gel polish

    You made polygel when you mixed the acryllic in the gel. You can use it in place of acryllic, and cure with a uv lamp, and get to skip the fumes!

    • @LissetteCruz
      @LissetteCruz  2 роки тому

      its not polygel. You can store polygel for a long time, this you cannot store. you would need to use it right away and then throw the rest away.

  • @BriiTv
    @BriiTv 3 роки тому +2

    I learned with the acrylic method that you can store it, you’d just have to stir it every time you use it. I made some pretty thick builder gel because thin gel runs too much for me.
