The Pillars of the Earth has a TV show with Eddie Redmayne and Hayley Atwell! I watched it a couple of years ago and then read the books and really enjoyed them!
There's also a 'sort of" continuation of the series happening approx. 300 years later (with a TV series also). I have probably read all historical fiction by Follett and he is a master ;)
Many great other names are also in the series and they shot it in Hungary. :) Wouldn't recommend to watch before reading though. I have a friend who read the entire book on a pc... mad man, sadly, not with a blue box.
Your content is so fab! ❤ Ironically, I just read 'the boy in the striped pyjamas' for school and I agree, it's SO important that we remember WW2 and the effects of it. Love your videos! 😊
Hey Sasha, I'm from Germany and I love watching your videos! You never fail to inspire me and you have such a loving and caring personality. Also, you are beautiful, no matter what hair colour you are currently wearing ;) I love what you said about never forgetting our country's terrible past, because I think we can learn a lot from it and we cannot let terrible things like the Holocaust happen again. I am also kind of impressed, because the German book you showed us was completely new to me, I've never seen or heard of it before. Now, since you as an American are reading it, I feel like I have the duty to read it as well :D I hope to be able to meet you one day and I am very much looking forward to finally read Zenith completely :) Lots of love from Germany xx
just read the boy in the striped pajamas and omg its SOOOOOO GOOOOD. just prepare for tears. and i also read milkweed witch also takes place in WW2. great video love yah
Have you read Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, by any chance? It was translated from German and the main characters seen to have a very similar ability to those in Book Jumper (there's no Scotland though, haha) I really liked it when I read it, and would recommend to read it after Book Jumper, if you liked that.
You said that you gave your dad "The Name of the Wind" as a present. I just read all Books by Patrick Rothfuss last week and they are so well written. Did you do a review for "The Name of the Wind" or "The Wise Man's Fear"? If not, could you do one? Greetings from Germany :)
I read The Pillars of the Earth quite a few years ago, and I remember that it's such a frustrating book, because it hooks you and keeps you invested in the characters, but at the same time, there are SOOOO, SO, SO many technical architectural aspects in the book. I bet that if we took out all the paragraphs dedicated to explaining how to build a certain thing, I think we would have around 3/4 of the book left. And also I remember that there were a lot of sex scenes that were incredibly awkward and gratuituous. But anyway, it's definitely a book that sticks with you.
by wednesday I will be finished with exams and I can start reading again I've been feeling so empty since the semester started because as someone who reads two to three books a week, I have only read two books since the summer and I just cant wait any longer. Watching yours and Christine's videos always make me so happy
"The Book Jumper" is already released in Poland, I actually really liked this book, the idea of jumping between books was really fun to read about. I recommend that and I hope you'll like it too 😊
Have you read Flawed by Cecelia ahern? I really enjoyed the book but nobody really talks about it. The sequel is out this year too and i'm so excited! x3
Pillars of the earth is really good! It's sequel World without end is great to. They were both made into a tv series as well that is definitely worth a watch.
Woohooo more videos from Sasha after all the hard work on Zenith! Please please please can you make videos on the other books in the Outlander series!? I just finished Drums of Autumn. I need more Outlander talk in my life until the TV series comes back later this year!! XXX Love ya and Fraser!!
Hahah I totally feel ya on buying multiple copies of one book because the cover is different. If I could I would like to have 40 different Harry Potter editions... I do have 4 different ones tho! The Book Jumper sounds soo cool! I literally just read the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and it was truly heartbreaking, just like the movie. The writing style is very simple, because it's written from Brunos point of view, and he's 9, so sometimes it felt a bit too simple, but overall it's such a great book! Hope you enjoy it!
Both my parents read The Pillars Of The Earth and absolutely loved it! They have been trying to get me to read it for years. I would love to hear your thought about it!
I see Wolf by Wolf on your shelf! Have you read it yet? (If you haven't yet, it's perfect for your WW2/historical kick!) & one of your grandparents was a Holocaust survivor? WOW. All my respect & love to them.
I already read Dark Matter this month, IT'S ALREADY ONE OF MY FAV'S OF 2017,i couldn't predict almost nothing that was going to happen, im super happy bc they'r making a movie about the book
pillars of the earth..i read it in three days. i resented everything i had to do in life that was not reading that book for those three days. it's engrossing and just a completely epic masterpiece!
Sasha, will you do a book signing in the Chicago area when the hard back edition of Zenith comes out in August of 2017? I am surprised over your interest in xFiles...you never cease to surprise me.
That edition of Diana Gabaldon's book is GORGEOUS. What did you think of Dragonfly in Amber? I lOVED Outlander and just finished Dragonfly in Amber which I felt fell so short compared to the first book in the series. I have heard that Voyager is incredible though so I will pick that one up! I would just love to know your thoughts on it???
SAME! I started watching The X-Files late last year and really enjoyed it. SO, I had to buy the two new books when they came out! Went to the local bookstore specifically to buy them. I just added The Book Jumper to my tbr list. You totally sold me on it. Sounds awesome. #currentlyreading Frankenstein. Never read it before. We only ever read Shakespeare in school. I think I've read Hamlet six times? Made me not want to read anymore classics ever. I'm trying to change that now though. Starting with Frankenstein!
I just finished reading Dark Matter! It's amazing, a really fast read and what a plot twist! Although I expected more out of it, at the end I'm very satisfied with this book :).
Hey Sasha! I'm writing my own book for the first time and wondering if you have any tips ? Love your videos, you're always so bubbly and happy and it makes my day xx
There's actually a TV show "the Pillars of the Earth". I don't know whether it was based off of the book, but the premise is very similar that makes me think i t was. Really enjoyed the show and the actors and characters were amazing!

Ken Folletts books are great and if you like Historical Fiction you should check out his Century Trilogy. The first book is called Fall of Giants and is set during World War 1. The books follow families from the different countries though the generations and span pretty much the whole century. I really loved reading them.
I really wish you could read one of my all time favourite books. It's called 'Der Feenturm' and it's about a girl who goes to Scotland and accidentally travels back 2000 years and finds herself in Celtic Scotland and it's just an all around fantastic book and I think you'd love it, but sadly it hasn't been translated to English.
Pillars of the earth has been made into a fantastic film series (starring Eddie Redmayne and a bunch of other great actors); it's great to watch when you get stuck with the book!!
When you said guess where she moves to, I legit rolled my eyes and said Scotland 😂😂

Lauren Miller Yes. Both series are really nice to watch though they are in some points very different from the books.
