- Lately I have missed quite a few events that I wanted to attend due to work. Thankfully this wasn't the case this weekend as The Ribble Steam Railway held their Diesel Gala held on 14th & 15th April 2018.
BR Class 14 D9539, BR Class 05 D2595, BR Class 03 D2148, Progress, NS Class 600 NS663 and the Waggon and Maschinenbau Railbus where all in action over the weekend.
Many Thanks to everyone involved for a great event.

Great piece of filming, as always. Can't help noticing the very low passenger numbers, though - was always going to lose out to the big class 40 event at Bury, and not helped by the total lack of advance information on this occasion - love the railway though, and I'll be back again when it doesn't clash with something else.
Thank You. Your right it wasn't overly busy and the Class 40 event at the ELR would certainly have played a big part in that. I agree that more info on upcoming events would be helpful.
All the locos putting on a good show. I love the Railbus bouncing round those curves!
It was a very enjoyable event. The Railbus certainly does bounce about and it is very popular.
Always worth a visit just to ride on that German Railcar, pity they seem to want to keep it a secret and don't publicise what is running at these Galas on their website anymore.
Oops Sorry Alan. I missed this comment. You are right travelling on the Rail car really is something completely different, and you don't half bounce about. I've noticed that about a few places they are not putting info on their website and relying on Facebook, Twitter etc.
I rode one of these on the North Norfolk Railway In 1996.I believe there are four of this type in existence; two on the KWVR. There were two examples of the AC Cars variety, 79978 on the Colne Valley Railway In Essex., 79976 spares or cut??
