- We made it too the beautiful country of Colombia to visit the highest palm trees in the world! Our travel journey has taken us to the small town of Salento, which is the gateway to Los Nevados National Park. This hike ended up being much more than we expected, as we walked through the palm fields into the jungles of Colombia! It was muddy, dangerous and definitely exciting! We are in Colombia for the next few weeks, so get ready to see some of the best parts of this country.

I never heard what you said about the palm trees being cut like that for tourism purposes. On the contrary they were cut for cattle farming. They are about 150 years old. They take a long time to grow. They are of the area. Please check your facts. Now they are loved and admired by locals and tourists. Colombia is a gorgeous natural wonderland full of hidden cascades,, birds and flowers

hi, the wax palms grow really slow and last long tool in former times they were surrounded by a thick wood ( not of palm trees).
