These videos are a great reality check for a lot of people. Modern combat isn't close gunfights or shit like that. It's an artillery slugfest with high losses, collateral damage, and misery
Depends. As I see it, in this Russo-Ukrainian war, there is a lot of room and the front is thinly held. So such maneuvers are more common than assaults. But I suspect that in the case of other frontlines, such as the India-China frontline in the Himalayas, in such areas as the Spanggur Gap and Fingers, you'd see a lot more gunfights and frontal assaults and a lot less maneuvering because Arty FOs on high ground would easily spot and end you. Plus the troop concentrations there are higher.
What about the videos from this war that are close rage gunfights? There are tons. Are you just trying to sound like you know more than the rest of us?
@@eriklarson9137 now compare that to how many videos you find of indirect fire, air strikes, and minefields. Close up fighting is barely a fraction of what's actually going on. If anyone is wondering why they’re walking where there could be mines, mines have triggers depending on their targets. Like an anti personnel mine will have a much smaller charge and lighter trigger, but anti tank/vehicle mines have heavier triggers as they’re usually buried deep and so need a heavier trigger so the dirt doesn’t set them off, but seem as vehicles are heavy and tanks are easily 10+ tons they will set it off no worries but a human shouldn’t set it off. This being said if you find yourself standing in front of a mine, obviously don’t jump on it😑
Some anti-vehicle mines are set off magnetically as well. And specifically for anti-vehicle mines, they typically have the ability to pop on the second, rather than the first, press. This tends to mess up the mine-clearing vehicles that expect the front part of their vehicle to take the brunt of the force. By setting it to a 2nd press, the mine has a better chance of actually taking out the mine-clearer vehicle rather than just that spinning drum that they often have in front.
The landscape is beautiful. It looks like a painting when you're walking through the fields, the sky spotted with clouds, grass field, tree lines. So sad the carnage going on now, and destruction. Fields just cratered from constant artillery barrages. :( Thanks for the videos Civ. Love the different perspectives of the logistics etc... and not just combat.
