I just had a major moment of regret for all the things I have given to Goodwill. I have donated SO MUCH nice things to Goodwill over the years. Baby stuff, clothes, kitchen things I didn't need. I guess it was just easy to go donate it there instead of selling it or looking elsewhere to donate. Really though, Goodwill charges a lot for their items these days. I should have looked into the women's shelter first.
I watch these declutter shows and it always amazes me how many clothes, toys, etc people have. I'm guilty, too, but have gotten better in not buying so many clothes. Good Luck!
Yeah...that is on extreme side. The lady has enough tops to dress 20 people. They keep telling us to declutter with them, but I don't have 5% of what they have. That donation to the shelter won't save a person with no job and racked life, but it surely will take money from the family. Thats just depressing...
@@_chimera_ she said she accumulated those clothes over years and that She was long overdue for decluttering her clothes. I don’t think that illustrates a year’s worth of purchases.

I have too many junk drawers. As recently as 6-8 months ago, I decluttered 3 junk drawers. As I look back through them, they need to be redone. We seem to never get completely done with our stuff. It is nice to know that I am not alone in terms of decluttering and reorganizing. I am 56 (I will be 57 in mid-January) so I am older and my personality is such that I tend to tire of things relatively quickly (i.e., my decor is ever evolving). I don't have a lot of clothes so I don't have an over abundance of things that I don't wear at least somewhat regularly. Additionally, my husband and I live in a 1 bedroom + den 892 square foot apartment, so I honestly do not have room for excess clutter and random things that I can hold onto hoping that I might use them at some point. Let's be real ~~ that is NEVER going to happen. I also know that at some time in the future we will be moving, so I also don't want to move things that I know that I won't use in a new home or a new apartment. And it just feels good to clear our space of clothes we don't wear for one reason or another, decor that I either do not use or that I have grown tired of. And it makes keeping our apartment clean a lot easier when I am not having to constantly try to reorganize or clean things that I do not even need nor want. And donating it and knowing it will go to someone who can use it just feels good.
Decluttering can be so hard mentally I'm glad you mentioned that, I'm never ready for it but love the after 😂 & for us like that knowing you're sending it off to a good cause helps me get it done 100x easier.
One thing I did that really helped my junk drawer situation.... is I separated them by category in different drawers one was mostly tools and house fixing type things(screw drivers, measuring tape, light bulbs, cords etc.) the other mostly office supplies( tape, pens, post its, menus etc.) Keeping the items separate helped to keep the drawers from being a jumbled mess and easier to find what I was looking for.

Hi Karrie! Love your videos! I had two drawers like yours in my kitchen island. Thy were true disasters and my first decluttering and organization project!🤣
I will say I do that same thing keep clothes i dont like on me but like I’m general. I know it’s from not being able to buy clothes when I was younger and I think it’s a mental thing where I fear not having clothes again . My granma has the same issue becuase she grew up in the depression and didn’t have a lot as a child ! But I do feel better when I let me self be ok with letting them go !
Yes I agree. I was so broke for so long and now everything I buy I want to cling to . I talked to a friend and she said it's not helping you if it don't fit anyway haha I was like true ! 😅 🤣
I don't have a junk drawer at the moment. But....thats only because I decluttered it the other day, so now all the leftover junk I can't seem to part with is in a white plastic dish pan I keep moving from room to room, attempting to find a permanent place for the junk. So no junk drawer, but a junk dish pan here. Lol 😆
@@sarahcarrizales9759 Oh my goodness, I love this! Lol! When I attempt to clean out the junk drawer, I've been known to make a small pile of things I "need to find a place for," and it will float from the counter tops to kitchen table and back to counter tops to the table and eventually back into the junk drawer. The endless cycle. Lol. 🤣😭🤣
@@MrsAlmondJoy00 Yep, my dish pan has been in every single room except the bathroom so far. It even sat in the hallway for a few days. I just can't seem to do something with the junk in it. Tossing the whole thing in the trash with all its junk would be an amazing lift off my shoulders! But....we all know I would never do that. 😆 So it will just continue to move from room to room until I finally figure out what to do with it. One day!
@@sarahcarrizales9759 I'm too familiar with that feeling. "Just toss this stuff... Who would miss it?" But we all know as soon as it's tossed, we would need literally every single item tossed. Lol! It's better to be safe than sorry. Right?... Right?... 🤣🤔🤣
@@MrsAlmondJoy00 lol yes! I would rather keep it than risk missing it. I do sometimes get rid of stuff with no problem, but at times have regretted some of my purging. I actually once saw stuff at Goodwill that I for sure donated, it was a weird feeling.

They are very secretive about where the shelters are. Some local churches can also take them or point you in the right direction to find a shelter.

Hi Karrie! Love your videos! I had two drawers like yours in my kitchen island. Thy were true disasters and my first decluttering and organization project!🤣
I've got to do my closet next week! I'll rewatch this while I do it! I'll need all the motivation as possible! LOL
You did good, love your new winter boots.
Thank you I got them from ollies for only 14.98 !!! Crazy cheap
I need to declutter our storage closet and locker. This inspires me to do so!
I loooove that green bag you donated. I have a few junk drawers. I guess that makes us best friends 😂😂
I have so much nail polish 🤦🏾♀️. I put them in clear shoe box bins. I got rid of some. Need to go through again.
🙋♀️ Guilty of having a junk drawer too! Lol. I didn't know NOT having a junk drawer was an option. 🤣
Thank u so much hunny, u really have motivated me to seclitter my room too, love ur channel xx
Love that you are donating to a women’s shelter.
Love that you have all the same hangers!😂 it drives me crazy to watch the videos and some people have all these different colored hangers yikes 🤣 drives my ocd wild😂
You have a beautiful family and home. It’s delightful to see you taking such good care of them. Subbed from watching just this video.💜🙋♀️
You go girl way to declutter...so inspiring.
Trying to keep the house cleaned daily is a feat!!! I so agree with you about junk drawers 😂. We have the same 2 to catch all our unwanted but not garbage trinkets!! What home doesn’t have one,, or two??
Your house decor is super cute too! I love it.
❤ You have such an AWESOME attitude (very contagious), so REAL, and funny too!! You did an AMAZING job, and your home is so BEAUTIFUL! 😍 Loved your video! 🤘🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I donated all my clothes and toys to a woman shelter. I 100% agree that they will use it. You can ask the community workers at your local school where to find one. They are very secretive about where the shelters are. Some local churches can also take them or point you in the right direction to find a shelter.
This video is so well thought out and the timing is perfect
Thanks for sharing your cleaning motivation ❤️
Your fur baby is adorable lol 😅💜 & this gave me motivation to declutter my room
I am decluttering now and get ridding of so much stuff. It feels like you were in my house decluttering. Thanks for sharing 😬
