I need to read more Wilke Collins! I have loved everything I have read by him so far- Hide and Seek, No Name, The Frozen Deep are the three besides Moonstone and one of my all time favorite classics Woman in White. 😍 I will definitely be reading this one- thanks for the review and reminder to be more intentional finding his books!
@@AnneEWilliamson yes- hide and seek is thought to be first novel featuring a deaf woman, no name about rights of family for women and frozen deep was short book made into play with his good friend Charles Dickens who liked the character he played so much in it they became the main character in his next novel which I believe was tale of two cities!
I've never read a Wilkie Collins book! This one sounds so interesting! The intuition stuff has intrigued me! I always get goosebumps when people talk about intuition or knowing something was off but not sure what it is...
Remarkable author particularly as he was consuming large quantities of laudanum (opium) for severe pain throughout his writing career. What impact this had on his output I don't know but he wrote some classic novels.
Geez, that's sad, but sadly a common thing during the Victorian Era. Laudanum was prescribed far too much for even minor things. And I do wonder how it affected his writing too!

I listened to it last year, great story. I'm a big Wilkie Collins fan, just finished "The New Magdalen"

Right? There's this added creepiness when people just have feelings of being disturbed without any rational explanation for it!
