The mundanity, however, gives was to an erotic entanglement when she begins to sleep with a waiter under the watchful eye of her husband. From first-time female director Ma Xue, White River tests the viewers perceptions around voyeurism and female sensuality to surrealistic effect in this playful erotic drama.
