Welcome to another of our Anchorage of the Gold Coast series, this time we are much closer to Brisbane than the GC; welcome to Coochiemudlo Island, a hidden gem nestled in the Moreton Bay Region of Queensland, Australia. We occasionally catch the ferry across from Victoria Pt. The ferry runs every 30 minutes. Great for a day trip. Very good hamburgers at the cafe and an easy island to walk around in an hour or so. Nice swimming if you pick a day with high tide in the middle of the day and as long as there has not been too much run off from the mainland in our wet summers. The run off does cloud the water.
We live on the Island so we see it every day but its nice to see it through someone els's eyes

Weather must be on the turn for you now?? But yes that day was stunning until a thunderstorm rolled in through the afternoon!
A day trip from the Gold Coast? I must have missed something because I live near Coochie at Victoria Pt and I can drive that distance comfortably in around one and a half hours or less depending on traffic levels.
Correct, so with 3hrs of driving up and back, and some time for lunch and lazing in the water makes for a great day trip.
