Garmin Striker 4 Fish Finder Install on a Yamaha GP1800R No Drilling Required

- I installed a Garmin Striker 4 Fish Finder on my Yamaha GP1800R. I installed it without having to drill into my PWC. I wanted to be able to remove it quickly and easily when I plan to just ride or jump waves. This application might not work on all PWC's. Hopefully this video will help other PWC riders who do not want to drill into their skis or want a solution for quick removal when necessary. I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Very well done! Darcey’s mission to keep out-fishin Tommy continues! She’s sharp. While you’re keepin a lookout for RM “Never on Time” Adventures at the ramp she’ll be scouting the Garmin for bait balls
By isolating the Garmin batt like that you eliminate the risk of killing your starter battery. Hmmm now what other accessories can “Darcey” add to that battery 🤔🤔🤔😉
Don't get her thinking Marc LOL! That was one of the reasons I went with a separate battery, and I have a backup just in case the main battery dies. I also like that I can remove it when I'm not fishing. RM "Never on TIme" Adventures has a ring to it and fits him perfectly 😁
🤔 always thinking. If you have any suggestions I'll take then!
Nice man, Now i don't need to find the reefs on my phone. 😅. Look at you backing up your lil lawnmower. 😂🤣
Lol! That's the plan Ramiro! That lawmnower makes life so much easier hauling my ski around.
Nice man! Great idea!!
Thanks Aaron!
Came over from our other thread. Has this been a good setup for you? I dont have a problem with drilling to accommodate a real robust bracket to hold a larger sounder and have it extra secure. Honestly, a fishpro is what i should get.. but im not into doing the conventional way. I want a super gnarly ripping ski and i also want it to fish about as good as a fishpro. Hahaha. We shall see where that takes me! I found the original site for a shop thats making GP sounder brackets. It WAS BoondocksPWC and now is Great Lakes Ski Shop.. looks like he only produces limited quantities and opens the site on the 1st of the month with whats in stock. Gonna have to contact this dude somehow
This set up has worked well for me. No complaints. I'm a Yamaha guy myself but the fishpro is a good ski for fishing. It's slower than what I want though.
No joke, i want something that RIPS when im not fishing. I will likely fish quite a bit… i love to fish for sure. But i am tired of seeing alllll the fish pro skis EVERYWHERE as well
How did you attached ram mound without drilling? Thank you
I used the ram mount "1st link below" and then instead of using the bottom plate that came with the ram mount I used the ball which screws into the existing bolt hole on your ski (2nd link). You can then mount your fish finder directly to this set up. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QD8PUM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 and www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0059X0YIQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for the video. Where can I get the mount that sits in the cupholder?
Thanks for watching! I ordered it online. I will post the link when I get home.
Sorry for the delay. I was busy editing my next video. Here is the link to the mount. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QD8PUM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Great video. How did you get the transducer cable up to the front compartment from the engine bay?
I ran it from the hull thru the front compartment in the bow. There is a plastic divider between the two and you can run it through up to the top. It's really simple to do. If you need more in depth video let me know and I'll post one. Thanks for watching and commenting!
