I would say allot of riders out there wouldn’t know that a soft tyre actually has a harder rubber compound than a hard tyre .. “ soft “ is for the terrain it’s used best for not what it’s made out of .. maxxis ST front and SI rear 🤌🏼.

Correct. Our MX-SI tyre (soft-intermediate) has an aggressive tread pattern to bite into soft soil as well as a unique compound & construction that increases durability on hard terrian.

@@maxxismotoaustralia9171 it is an awesome tyre , the st is probably better when it’s fresh , but the longevity you get from the si with not much drop off once used can’t be beat in my opinion … Onefourmoto at somersby ( central coast) dose all my mechanic work and is a maxxis stockist , 👏🏼 well done with the tyres you guys provide

It’s great to see you testing tires, but find a hard pack track with no berms for accelerating out of corners. Like a good blue groove track. Tires, air pressure, rear shock setting, throttle control and you.Top 6,7, or 8 for the series.Remember to fight to have fun 💪

Just bought some MX-SI's. Looking forward to em. Been kicking myself all week thinking I should have gotten the IH rear. Tracks around here start deep and tilled, and end up hard and dusty clay. How would the IH rear do in the softer conditions in the early day?
Definitely thinking my standard pair would be SI front with IH rear from late spring to early fall!

I'm stuck between these or Michelin starcross 5. I also ride the roads and streets so i need something that can handle hard roads and also dirt and trails and something that's going to last a while i hate changing tyre's

We've found 12.5psi in the front works best on hard terrain. The tyre flattens out which increases traction under braking. Increase to 13psi for more comfort over jumps. The rear works great at 13psi, however drop to 12.5psi to increase straight-line traction on blue-groove.

Always thought a softer tire worked better on hard pack even tho they wear faster

It's all in the rubber compound. Softer compound rubber grips better on hard terrain. Hard compound produces more traction in soft/sandy conditions.
