    Please understand I made this video not to make fun of these beautiful dancers. Rather, I hope this video emphasizes the side of being a performer than the audience rarely sees-the part that is about making a mistake, recovering, and carrying on as if nothing had happened.
    I believe it takes skills to do 32 fouettes as it does falling and having the courage to get up and continue the routine. Thus, I have utmost respect for these dancers.
    I do not own these clips, they belong to their respective owners. If you feel this is a copyright infringement, please message me and I will take it down.

    Me as a ballerina I remember the first time I stumbled and fall and recovering from that is so hard, you just start getting tears all over your eyes and not being able to cry just leaves you with a bitter feeling, it’s just amazing how these professionals don’t even think of breaking down for their audience... they are such an inspiration ❤️

      Sarah mit H am Ende It’s not so obvious. I don’t have as much of an understanding of how ballet and dancing works in general so to people like me, explanation of these mistakes help us understand why/how they occur. It gives me a lot more sympathy and of course, a whole new league of appreciation for these dancers. From lifts to footwork, everything is meticulous, so it’s no wonder that sometimes things go wrong. However, it shows just how professional and talented they are at once; when they either nail it, or recover from a mistake and continue.

    • @lexiright5609
      @lexiright5609 4 роки тому +2

      Honestly its actually not that bad, there are elastics holding the shoe, as long as you're careful to not step on the ribbon you won't fall. It's probably the most forgivable mistake.

    • @deathdropaldc4799
      @deathdropaldc4799 4 роки тому +1

      Ya, but there’s also the fear of stepping on the loose ribbon, which could potentially mess up your ankle really badly, because you would be partially taking the shoe downward, and also tripping at the same time

      She was supposed to complete a series of rises to full pointe on her standing leg all the way through to the end of the phrase but she dropped her preparation on the second to last one causing her to double hop on a flat foot instead. I thought this and most of the other examples in this video aren’t serious enough to warrant being shamed on the internet. It’s just nit-picky cruelty to compile a video of minor mishaps that are too subtle for the average viewer to notice.

    • @unfriendly_neighbour
      @unfriendly_neighbour 4 роки тому +6

      Eric Harris it’s not shaming, it’s more so just to demonstrate that mistakes happen and to praise the dancer’s fast recovery (in most cases).

    • @VetsrisAuguste
      @VetsrisAuguste 4 роки тому

      Lauren Is Gay So you’re saying the point of this video is to elevate mediocrity by showing how common mistakes are no big deal as long as you recover quickly? Nice try but... I don’t buy it.
      Nobody is watching this video to see examples of common mishaps made right again. If the point of this video was to celebrate how quickly these dancers recovered from their mistakes, then why isn’t the video called “ballet recoveries”? The title tells you the point of the video “ballet mistakes”, it makes no mention of recovery and cuts away from each example to the next as soon as we see the mishap. There is no celebration of success under pressure here, it’s merely a catalogue of imperfections. Is that really worth celebrating?

    Classic songs have specific dance movements, in case a ballerina commits a mistake in one of them, can she improvise to cover up the error, or not because it would be changing the steps, which are already stablished?
    I sincerely apologize if I could not get myself to be understood.

    To be honest, most of these examples require a trained eye to even spot the “mistake”. With the exception of the last example, these kinds of things happen so frequently they are hardly worth including in a video dedicated to ballet bloopers. I’m frankly not interested in watching a catalogue of imperfections. If you’re going to compile a video of this type that is worth taking the time to watch, give us some examples of someone actually screwing up; like going the wrong way or forgetting an entrance or running off the edge of the stage. These little clips of unintended hops and slips off of pointe are petty nit-picky in my opinion.

      You are just here complaining "bully" because Oksana Skorik is here. You don't see the real purpose of the video.

      It’s just showing us that they are human. Ballet dancers have so much pressure on them to be perfect so seeing professionals make mistakes reminds us that it’s okay too

      Hi Balletomane, I didn't see your comment until now. I would like to just say I use to have a 10 second intro explaining why I made this video but since UA-cam took out the comment box insert option out in 2017, my intro has been erased. In my intro, I explained I have so much respect for all dancers. Having previous done intermediate ballet and finding it difficult, I can't imagine how hard it is for them to do complete ballets-memorizing all the choreography, training to perfect their technique, and building up all that stamina to be able to dance a whole ballet.
      The point is, the whole video is to show how gracefully they recovered even after making a mistake on stage. Their ability to recover absolutely wows me because of their professionalism. It takes a lot of courage and willpower to make a mistake on stage and continue on, ignoring the pain and the disappointment-I know this much having been a pianist (at least there was no physical pain from making me mistake on the piano thank god haha) and the stage fright I felt seizing me up when I made a mistake. I hope this explains why I decided to make the video.
      Side note to the other comments, thank you for taking the words out of my mouth. I'm glad a majority of you understood my intention was not to shame these dancers, but to praise them for their ability to rise up!

      Eye roll.
      Every one makes mistakes, we're not robots. It's refreshing to see even the most elite performers have fumbles, as we look up to them so much in awe and amazement.
