i like how they made his ending like he felt like he got robbed of something. It balances his humbleness. Showing that everyone can have a dark side.
Yeah I thought so too. But some people have differ understanding to this ending. For me, I think that this young Raiden is just feeling why he was human than a god. But his god version was the one that made Liu Kang a god and replacement for him. Understand about his dark side and overcoming this fate that he must control his anger.
So yeah I can agreed what you say here.
How are people missing the point of this ending? Raiden doesn’t feel robbed that he’s not a god in this timeline, he doesn’t care about that part at all. He’s entire concern is of his inability to feel real anger. He’s training with the Shirai Ryu not just to build his temper, but to control it so that he doesn’t become consumed by rage. Raiden is still as humble as always, but even a humble person can know that anger yields a certain power when tapped into properly.
You took the words right out my mouth
Raiden went to Kuai Liang to harness and control his anger so he never goes dark again like in other timelines. Raiden views Kuai Liang as the epitome of restraint. He respects Kuai.
This is so cool.
He's scorpion
Yea i dont really like kui liang as scorpion, hes too chill
He go there to learn to control his rage so it make sense
@@crownedCLAN I'm tired of angry Scorpion. I like Chill Scorpion. Kuai Liang is great.
@@ultradeathboywe know lol. Obviously
People are saying that Dark Raiden will come back, but I think otherwise. Raiden is LEARNING to control rage, not succumb to it. He's not sad or angrty about the robbed godhood, it's the power he might need that can come from rage.
Sooo.. he's gonna get the Kratos treatment..
"anger can be a weapon, if you can control it"
💀
The original Raiden didn't succumb to it though he used it to protect his realm which he did perfectly after becoming dark raiden even if people saw him as bad then it didn't matter his job was to protect them which he couldn't do before because he was bound by rules like shinnok said Raiden realized the truth that he was cast out for speaking
I think New Era Raiden isn't upset about not being a deity, but rather, he's upset because he was _robbed of his own agency._
Dark Raiden can still come back, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be identical to his previous incarnation. Even the Dark Raiden from the second timeline was much more affable than the Dark Raiden of the first timeline despite them both being well-intentioned extremist anti-villains.
New Era Raiden may wind up being more subdued in how he handles this. He might be more of an anti-hero who chooses to subvert Liu Kang because he's lost trust in the Fire God. Like still holding a mutual goal of protecting Earthrealm and the timeline but not necessarily being forthcoming with things, omitting info, or even not cooperating beyond necessity.
Now, if he were to suffer great loss, that might push him further into darker territory and make him even more willing to make questionable decisions.
I'd be really interested to see that happen and to see possibly him and Kung Lao finding themselves in unwanted conflict with one another, too.
Rage can be a powerful weapon if it is used properly.
But this still is a red flag of what Raiden may become. In a game where many timelines exist, anything can happen.
Personally i always assumed that he wanted raiden to have a trait he lacked in his previous timeline, the ability to connect deeper to humanity, plus it might have been a request from the original timelines raiden to make him mortal since liu kang kinda inherited his job.
It’s my headcanon that Raiden asked Liu Kang to make him a mortal in the new timeline.
@@fissilewhistlesame
It may as well been one of his wishes before he is parted ways. Having to be a God for so long, why Fujin has wished to live among humans of Earthrealm, it is no wonder that it wasn't of Liu Kang's wishes alone.
This ending solidified this being my favorite version of Raiden. I was iffy about mortal Raiden in the first place, but the idea that liu kang specifically kept him mortal on purpose because he keeps going into his dark side makes the whole thing so much better. On top of that, gameplay-wise Raiden has never been cooler. Mortal Raiden and what they were gonna do with him was one of the biggest "whatever I hate it, moving on" things for me leading up to this game and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the game with this ending and it's reveals being a huge part of the reason. Plus the foreshadowing of him possibly going back to dark raiden. Now I can't wait to see where that goes, maybe we get a storyline where liu kang sees that he's going back to the dark and takes away the amulet. Maybe that's why liu kang made his powers reliant on the amulet in the first place as a way to give him back his powers with added security of simply taking an object away from him if he ever loses control.
Reddit ain't a fan of his story use.
@@dylansharp8471 I think it's weird that he kinda just disappears completely after his chapter but otherwise I loved him in the story
Well your simply wrong first god raiden didnt want his powers he wanted to just live out as a mortal. There was no way of making raiden a god after that fact. It was purley the decision of the original raiden nothing to do with liu kang
Raiden as a final boss for the next MK would actually be pretty intriguing
uh nope
let my boi liu to have a titanic lovemaking session with kitana
Honestly, considering how humble Raiden had been throughout the new timeline i was honestly surprised at how there seemed to be a dark edge to his discovery of robbed godhood. It makes sense if one thinks about it though, he was a GOD at one point and was reduced to nothing more than a mere mortal. I'm happy he decided to get taught by Scorpion and the Shirai Riyu to control his anger. It was his old counter parts destruction.
I lowkey always saw it as Liu Kangs’ “get back” at raiden for 1. Getting Kung Lao killed by his inexperience against shao Kahn. 2. Allowing raiden to merge earthrealm and outworld for the invasion. 3. Killing HIM. 4. Becoming a revenant/servant of shinnok. 5. Raiden Sending those pesky combat kids after him when he was the Netherrealms’ ruler. On the inside, Liu Kang is SAVORING raiden having mortality.
……that a strange take lol liu kangs raiden literally gave him the new task of becoming the new protector of earthrealm 😂
@@brandonspencer5594 that’s true as well, I think of the MK1 scene with young raiden, “I won’t send my champion unprepared into combat.” Some of the ally characters have their doubts and cast jest at Liu kang during the story even whilst hes proving divine purpose, like they did raiden in MK9, MKX and MK11. Cutting open and salting healed wounds In MK is apart of the story and I love it. My apologies for my odd take.
But kuai Lang isn’t an angry guy like Hanzo
@@Thatmellofello. Nah, I don't think so. He even makes him champion.
0:59 look at young Hanzo Hasashi, he's hyped 😬🔥🔥
No matter the timeline he wants all the smoke 😅🔥👨🚒
Unlike others from the new timeline, Raiden would feel uneasy knowing he used to be an Immortal who already lived for eons prior to anyone's existence, even Liu Kang.
AND the fact that his old timeline self carried a lot on his shoulders to the point it consumed him for the sake of doing what he thought was the perfect solution.
I wished we got to see his reaction in the story for all of this.
Yoooo Raiden’s arc was litty! 🌩️ HANZO in the back cheering for him to get his powers 😂 or bcuz Scorpion 🦂 is burning tf outta Raiden
Is that really hanzo?
@@HeriB1994Yes. That little kid cheering is Hanzo. It is confirmed in Smoke’s/Tomas’ ending.
Hanzo is just happy to be there lol
Just shows that no matter how humble raiden is there will always be a dark side to him
Controlling his rage seems Dark to you?
@SeventhheavenDK totally missed my point. I'm saying that even though liu kang changed raiden in the new time-line, he still has the tendency to be rageful
But ragefulness isn’t in his nature, that’s the point. That’s the exact reason why he’s training with Scorpion, to learn how to actually feel anger and to wield it properly so he doesn’t slip off the deep end like his counterpart.
L take anger is a natural emotion. Nothing "dark" about it until it turns to unparalleled rage
Liu Kang went dark too in the past timelines, a zombie and a revenant.
I find it interesting that despite his limited role in mk11 Dark Raiden is still something that haunts Liu Kang and hangs over human Raiden’s head, feels a bit foreboding, I’m not worried about Human raiden going bad but I wonder if a dark raiden from another timeline will be a future threat
So it means we have raiden with both thunder and fire next game? Like the first time firegod liukang were born?🤔
I think it’s hinting next game will give Raiden like a dark stance where his lightning turns red and brutal
I don’t think he meant fire literally
@@Heavenly_Senshi so what he learns from scorpion if not fire magic?
@@darkknightofsteel1691 no I mean I think he meant fire like motivation just like smokes ending when they find hanzo
@@justindixon1586I think it should be purple to show his mastery over his emotions
I could see next game give him a dark stance that turns his lightning red and makes his attacks more savage
I definitely can't, not with Kuai Liang as Grand master , I could see him becoming more of a ninja with joining the Shirai Ryu
@@andrewpearson3516 I don’t think him being a ninja would be good cause that makes the roster less special by turning someone into another ninja.
@@justindixon1586Well, Rain is no longer a ninja. And it's very unlikely to see Ermac as ninja in the future. Reptile is 50/50. And there is no electricity ninja before (minus Rain who's power is mainly water). So.....
@@gabrielbronan7521 fair but there’s already 4 ninjas and turning one who isn’t a ninja into one wouldn’t really be a good idea. Making rain a wizard was a fix for the fact that so man we’re only ninja cause they started out as a color swap
@@justindixon1586 You're right about color swap. But I would love to see Raiden become a ninja (at least temporary) without having his power stripped by Liu Kang.
Besides, it would be mindblown to see Scorpion, Smoke and Raiden in same gang. If Ashrah can do it with the White Lotus, why not Raiden with Shirai Ryu 😁
Dark raiden did nothing wrong.
If you must die so be it
Literally true. But as grandmaster blueberry ice put it, "wasted potential"
He did nothing wrong
But MK9 Raiden did a WHOLE Lot of wrong
@@spongeyspikes09 MK9 Raiden did nothing wrong. He was as reasonable as he could be with the broken info from the past. Everybody around him kept fuckin up.
@@Xannyphantom905 couldve just said "Let Shao Kahn win" instead of he must win
“There are fates worse than death”- raiden , mkx
Shinnok: 🤪
Mileena: Raiden is infiruatingly humble!
Kung Lao: Is it annoying, isn't it?
Liu Kang: I hope all of us must not see his wrath in the near future. Don't dare to cross that border
🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
I think the arcs of all these characters will still land them in similar situations as the original timeline...but sooner and with grave consequences. We will probably get a Dark Raiden by MK14 still withing the LuKang era. He will be younger, inexperienced but clouded by rage and probably some use of dark magic.
He is learning to control rage here, so very unlikely.
Once he said " I felt like I was done a disservice" I was thinking that he was gonna go completely dark, despising lui kang for making him a peasant instead of a God, and he would battle lui kang for his powers and win, and he would become a tyrant over all the realms. Thankfully that's not what happens.
I wonder will this be a arc in the story dlc or mk2
Liu Kang really made Raiden with negative anger % and let him be
My favorite ending part how future Raiden show him future.
Scorpion 🔥
I have a theory that mk1 raiden is the way is was at the request of mk11 raiden
Raiden would be the second coming of Liu Kang in the new era of Mortal Kombat.
The next chosen one.
Oh Raiden, how could you?!???!??!?
0:04 0:08 0:17 0:27 0:37 0:45 0:54 0:57
Wait so Raiden feels betrayed that Liu Kang kept this cause don’t think can get godhood unless Kang thinks he’s ready
He's more concerned on his anger rather than godhood. Liu Kang probably covered that up with Raiden's sacrifice.
"To survive the coming battles, I may need the edge that only great rage can bring."
It's OFFICIAL:a new deadly alliance is confirmed.
Tengo que decir, ese imagen de Scorpion lanzando fuego a Raiden es unos de los imágenes mas chevere que hay in en este juego.
0:58 Hanzo
And....?
@@SeventhheavenDK he’s just pointing it out.
Its a good ending but i cant lie its nice to see harumi smoke and hanzo watching kuai id like to see the banter between the 4 of them in the mext game
if raiden and liu kang fight similar to how they did in the previous timelines in either a aftermath DLC to Mortal kombat 1 or in the next game it would be
Raiden: Liu kang stop ( insert name of the villian) isnt the enemy this time.
Liu kang: step aside Raiden
Raiden: enough of your madness if you must die so be it
Raiden has a rage for Kuai Liang.
Best ending imo
I hope the writers at NRS take this time to not simply tread old grounds and turn our new Raiden "evil" like before. He's naturally humble and steadfastly loyal to his friends. While he is completely understanding of Lord Liu Kang's decisions he's also smart enough to know that if future tribulations are going to be tougher than the events of MK1, he knows he'll need to go all out if he is to fulfill his role as Earthrealm's Champion.
Since this new timeline is about new beginnings and origins, I propose they make it like Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars books where he's actively studying and training the Dark Side as a balance to his Light side and not simply succumb to it.
Im so ready for Raiden and Scorpion to be bros
He just cant help himself raiden always liked being dark
In next Mortal Kombat 2 in Liu Kang Timeline. Raiden and Titan Raiden will be merge as Powerful Raiden.
Hey random but does anyone know where to find the background music for these endings? cause I'm vibing hard to them
Evil arc Raiden again
AMAZING🤩😍👍
One game, can't they go one game without featuring an evil Raiden? Or any Liu Kang - Raiden animosity? It's also out of nowhere since Raiden is pretty much boy scout till this ending.
Liu Kang is now the posterchild of mk. he's not not going to be in an MK game. he will be in injustice 3 as well
Wow, foreshadowing Dark Raiden again? So many "original" new ideas! Soooooo worth the...second, third reboot?
0:58 whats that song?
Raiden will be a Shirai Ryu?
And thus the possibility of Liu Kang and Raiden fighting eachother once again is born. Maybe, idk lol.
0:27 Am I the only one who thinks this is actually stupid? Did raiden literally not tell Liu kang TO HIS FACE that the only reason that he was enraged was because of Kronikas influence? (and maybe shinnok's amulet to boot)
Apparently, we're far from done with giving Liu Kang Vietnam flashbacks. I mean, what is this?
What does this mean?
It means that he won't be as dark raiden, but neither the original raiden who wasn't so strong, we wants an gray soon in de middle.
Ah. Makes sense. Thanks@@manux9597
Kuai liang is teaching Raiden how to control his rage so he doesn't go down a dark path
No clue. I think Raiden should be consulting with the Elder Gods
raiden is nothing without his amulet?
Did this man just join Cobra Kai?
This ending is kind of underwhelming. I thought he'd reach god status again. That would've been cool to see again. At least in mk1 form.
I wished they didnt change raidens character. Kind of a let down.
OHHH SO HANZO IS RAIDEN 😮 Lol I’m Just Kidding 😂‼️
He was humble till he saw his past life and was upset about it lui kang should’ve told him that his past self gave his powers to lui kang instead it brung the rage hidden in raiden maybe it will be different since he is learning to master his rage to better help earth realm
Raiden wants to be stronger than him before
Need thunder god Raiden back not Liu kang 🙄
Lol why you love God Raiden so much?
@@anjaymabar996because he brings nostalgia
He might be DLC Skin for Raiden
@@anjaymabar996 I would accept them being switched if more characters were switched but they are the only ones who were completely switched it’s bs imo 🤷🏻♂️
@@fishfish2128there's literally a justifiable reason for it tho
This ending is SLIGHTLY foreboding. I wonder if we’re gonna get dark raiden again in the next game.
Might be a mixture of red lightning and blue lightning but what if Raiden uses purple lightning instead symbolizing his mastery over rage and tranquility.
You just blew my mind..@@hartantoanggoro
@@hartantoanggoro as a Raiden simp, this is actually a good fookin idea
Doubt it since this is Raiden learning of Dark Raiden and training to control what turns him into DR.
I wonder why Raiden never uses yellow lightning.
That Scorpion & that Raiden would be unstoppable he might as well join him in the next game and gone get onaga out the way lol
NGL Raidan took his new role alot better then most, learning that once you were an actual Diety but now being a mere mortal would sting anyones pride, regardless of intentions
Personally I'm kind of shocked his that his temper had been removed I was just under the impression because he would be too much of a man instead weak and woke dark Raiden is the definition of the character he's ruthless bent on protecting Earth around in any cost and crushing enemies and destroy anything he deems a threat that is the definition of a brilliant leader even this week woke wimpy version of himself wants that power and there is a brilliant story that could be wrote once that happens betraying his master and taking earth realm for himself dark Raiden the final boss of mk 2 or 13 and of course he would also have to be taller then he will be taken more seriously lol
You write like a 14 year old person
Braindead comment lol
Let’s all thank God you’re not a developer and just a fan with dumb ideas
Ok edgelord lol
