I have a Champion Valkyrie and it flies exactly the same as your star valk. I’d recommend getting one in pro plastic because it will definitely get some more turn for you. Pro plastic tends to have more glide than other plastics from innova.

@@serenityinsilence thanks for the tip. I haven’t tried pro plastic on any of my drivers because I like Gstar, Star and Halo the best but I’ll have to give pro a try. Of the 3 pro types is there one you think is best?

@@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho innova is kind of confusing with their naming system because they have different types of “pro” plastic. Technically they advertise the pro plastic for fairways and drivers as “driver pro” on their website and don’t offer the other 3 types as an option. Driver pro is a mix of dx and star plastic, making a very unique feeling and flying plastic. It feels like star plastic, but breaks in quickly like dx. It will hold its broken in stability much longer than dx, and it’s also way more durable. I’ve found that discs in driver pro fly farther for me than regular star and champion because they reach a more useable stability quickly, then hold that point for quite a while.

@@serenityinsilence that’s very interesting. I never knew that. I forgot I do have a R-Pro Pig. I love the way it feels and the way it flies. I was just at the open at Idlewild this weekend and looked for certain discs in Pro plastics but found them challenging to find.

@@GoManGoDiscGolf-he5ho I went to the Texas states championship and I remember innova had their own tent at the vendor ally. They mostly had signature discs and stuff in halo star plastic. It’s easiest to get discs in pro plastic on infinite discs website. My local shops rarely carry pro plastic drivers, but they have all the rest. I bag an R-pro pig also, and used a kc pro aviar for a little while to putt.

@@serenityinsilence interesting how the shops don’t seem to carry the pro plastics.

The introduction of the Valkyrie and those flight numbers date back to a time before the "premium" plastics we know today. Even the blend of DX of that time was quite different than what is on the shelves now. It does make using those numbers as a guide not ideal for any of us, unfortunately.

@@NoLifeLeft13 that’s good and interesting to know. I hadn’t thought about that. Sometime I should do a video on rating the disc my/ourselves to compare with the manufacturer’s flight numbers.

I bought a new one in ⭐ plastic @ 173-5g a few days ago and it was pretty stable but now i get a little turn out of it and it flexs nicely after i beat it up a bit. Thinking about getting a pro plastic or lighter about 160g weight ⭐ for a straighter flight on a flat release.
I have a newer champion plastic beast that flips a little and turns a bit more than my valkyrie does but I was going find a little more flippy beast but i want to give the valkyrie a chance first so I'll beat it up some more since i don't think im ready for 10 speed discs just yet.

Interesting how it’s turning for you now that’s it’s beat in some. Maybe I’ll have the same result after a while. I notice if I release the disc just a smidgen late it moves with the turn I would expect. Or maybe I’m releasing to early at times when it goes more straight. Good luck and keep throwing.

I have had mine for 5 months now, my last round almost 4 weeks ago was the first time I had gotten some turn out of it.
