I had a cloth over my snare at all times.
Long story short i finally tuned it.
1:50 ... had to learn that the hard way
I personally like the gel and snare weights. These two methods sound more natural overall to the attack and the decay of the drum. I know this is about the dampening products for drums, but I must commend you on your technique of this video. This video was the most informative vid I’ve seen in a long time. The use of the single, eighth and notes work better than hearing some fancy drumbeat throughout the whole video (as I’ve seen many times in the past). The viewer wants to hear how the products work and sound, not to be impressed on how well the drummer can lay down a drumbeat. I agree on your approach to a simple drum beat which works best at the end. Please keep this format and the good work. Thanks
I have that same Yamaha Steel Snare, 14 by 6,5. Mostly i use gel, and on some occasions i let it rrrriiiinggg :D
Awesome video production - crystal and clear! Thank you and Keep it up!
Beautiful effort and production. Really like the big fat snare drum combo.
Well made video, Its great to see some of the different dampers on the market, I already use several of these products , some I had no idea they existed. Thank you cheers.
Very good video! Clear and complete
I feel like using a powerstroke black dot head is kind of already ruining the change in dampening
A black dot head can sound great on a certain snare. But a medium-thinner head responds better to muffling than even partially twin-ply heads.
Towels and/or rings have always been the way for me
Good comparison video!! I use snareweight one. Thank u for your effort!!
Serious approach 👍
Thank you for the video
the Pearl OM1 Clamp-on tone control muffler allows you to not only adjust the amount of dampening pressure to the head, but also the location of the dampening felt (closer to the rim or closer to the center).
Great video. What kick drum make/model is that? Love the amber tone
Great vid!
Great video!
For effects: BFSD
For muffling: Snare Weight
All other instances (90% of the time) let that thing sing!
chickenbeforeegg i use rings for my snare cause i have it tuned really deep and don’t want overtones.
That Rogers snare sounds dope as it is
I was thinking that the whole video
Tbf undampened is what most often sounds best in the mix. With most dampening the snare completely disappears but for a little bit of snare buzz
cool and informative video series.. fyi the voice is mixed so loud that my volume fader moves up and down all the time
good vid👍🏻
I've been using Drum Clips for years now, not mentioned in this video.
Thanks for your feedback. Will definitely try it.
@@HomeOfDrums I personally like internal mufflers that go inside of the drum better.
I use Evans E-rings on all my drums! :)
Me to.
Gretsch Brooklyn 6,5x14. No muffling, just by tuning or changing the hoops, 302-> die cast. more focus, less sustain.
I use Everbilt self-adhesive felt pads from Home Depot.... cheap and most effective!
Nothing can beat the Duct-Tape warriors
4:14 SC-4235 and 5:14 Snareweight standard insert
I use SnareWeight on my studio kit and DrumTacs on my live and practice kit
Where can I purchase snareweight?
Leather Wallet, but I like the sound of the minimuf
Good
Green Monster is awesome.
SC-4235 is probably the best
Ya ,tiene mucho tiempo, que no veo tarolas, con su cojin abajo, del parche, a mi me cuesta mucho trabajo afinar mis tarolas, con el temor que las pueda estropear,
I taped an extra cymbal felt to the inside of my drum.
What snare is this?
Ring always
What’s this song
Crazy world.. completely crazy !
SC-4235 is the best, too cheap and certainly. And DIXON's product almost the same but smaller one. I always use that two diagonally, and adds cleaning cloth. That's absolutely muted and smart.
Folded up handkerchief that has only the side closest to the rim taped to the head.
I use my wallet
same. I never feel the same satisfaction of the sound or the feel when I use something else.
I ever go to one rehearsal cafe,i hate this muting because it made sound too short.
,wow
The minimuff sounds like you put a gate on the mic
Ever think about tuning your drums and not hitting as hard?
Or not doing rimshots
sometimes people want a dead sound
Tuning and not hitting as hard are the great first steps! Sometimes a more extreme muffling is necessary to create a desire tone, sustain, etc. And the jingle muffler adds something tuning and playing quieter can't do.
Barra dos Coqueiros-SE cadê os sócios do Vasco ?!?!? !?!?!?!
Como se yama la pieza que sale en el 3:50 gracias
Coulda used a pop filter for the mic.
Will the magnets mess with the mics?
never heard of that.
i use ductape and a mall cardboard piece.
Please get a microphone mesh. The "P"s sound terrible in the voice recording. Thanks for the video though, everything else was great.
I just use my phone or the t shirt I'm wearing
7:32
Black duct tape more cheaper and useful for me ..
using my cellphone
sticky hand
I just use good old fashioned duct tape
I hate damping...let it ring baby!!!
Cigarette pack
i use a coin
art of drumming ??? voice over
Too gay!!! Not for me!!!
Bro what
Great vid!
