A great review. As you said „not for everyone“ but certainly for me. As a fan of foremost 50s and 60s jazz, it was about time to give the „new“ cats the opportunity to win my heart, and this just received LP box release did it, by a storm. Man/woman, „Plumb, 5 Minute …, Pink Noise“, e,g., are so good and my picks when I want to demo that new music to others. Was somewhat skeptical when I learned that JMI chose that unpopular plating and pressing plant. Not great pressings for that high price set (sharp edges cut seam splits in those wonderful inner sleeves) but reasonable flat and low unwanted noise floors. Still, such wonderful analog produced music and lp/box cover art deserve a better pressing treatment going forward.
Thank you for the info on the release and review. It's much appreciated. I've placed my order for Plum, Ray Angry and Mike Mitchell. Once again, thank you and love your reviews.
Hi Chris, great video and what a box set!! Think it will better to book a flight from Vienna to New York to pick up the recs from this great label!!! 175+90(shipping)= $265,- + 4,5% customs and another 20% VAT = around $335,- 😅 At the moment it still hurts, but let's see what happens in a few days when the fear of not getting this beauty becomes too great!
Great review! I got mine this week and I am so blown away by the music! Just incredible! Will be interested to hear your review on the Ray Angry 3 box. Thanks!
I wonder could you maybe do a video on how you protect out of the norm album covers. Like I’m not sure what to do with the Sonny Rollins at the village vanguard tone poet. Or trifold albums I have. I’m interested in hear how others have solved.
Mine just arrived today. As excited as I am, I’m also afraid to open the album itself for fear of ruining the velvet. Perfect timing for me to watch you unbox yours lol
@easylikesat You may wish to check how folks have stored the Jimi Hendrix box released a couple decades ago, as it had a similar finish and with 20+ years there should be a decent long-term perspective on impacts of how they were stored.
Hi Brown, Thanks for the review, I'm enjoying Plumb and I'm also really digging the free record they sent called The Co-Op, great stuff with a Matthew Halsall vibe. Hope everyone gets one!
I received my copy last week. I love it. I wonder how do you plan to store your copy? I don’t want to get dust or anything on the velvet. I assume I’d need to get a special outer sleeve to place it in.
Really good question. Even if there are plastic options I wonder if the material would be more sensitive to any humidity in the air and if some sort of paper wrap would be better. Will have to think about it….
A top 10 all time album for me. Just an incredible journey.
A landmark musical statement, beautifully recorded. A must have!
Absolutely agree

Yes that’s a great one! And yea they have a great habit of throwing in free records from their catalog!

Anyone know when this is available for high rez download?
Had my eye on it since last year, but $90 shipping to UK
I couldn't even find anything about shipping to UK at all. It's a shame but understandable I guess, I would love to own this. :(
Juno have it listed on their site for pre order but no availability date
