    Ignacy seems to have a keen eye on marketing and where the industry is heading. A great skill to have!!
    I still like designing the best. Shows you different people have different skills and talents.

    I'm a first time game designer, I have my prototype which I have used to play test close to a dozen times and I'm getting close to wanting to get a sample copy from a manufacturer.
    My question is how do you guys go about transferring your prototype model to something that manufacturing companies can use. I understand that it is with digital versions of your game but I am not particularly skilled with computers. Do you guys do the graphic design elements yourself? Do you hire someone for graphic design? Do you hire someone to write your rules book professionally? Do you hire someone who has more game design experience to look at your board game and give you expert opinions? I'm just not sure what steps to go for now, and 99% of questions answered online assume you already have digital copies of your game, but I really wish I knew how to get there.

      If you want to make a virtual version:
      I know that there are multiple board game building/sandbox programs around. If you want to use one it's best to check what will be easiest to get a prototype running in (for you).
      Eg: I made my test cards for a mini-lcg in card creator so making the transition to tabletop simulator is as easy as exporting the project as a huge image which table top simulator can automatically turn ito a deck of cards. I can also just do this to update the cards as needed through testing which makes revisions easy.
      The best program to use for you might be different but look up tutorials for a few and see if there are any good options for your game.

    Am i the only person who doesnt care at all about story? I play board games because of competition and components. I eventually stopped reading fluff text in games.

      Same boat my friend. I play for the bonding and social experience mainly. Very rarely there are game that have flavor text I enjoy reading. I recently bought the game Doomlings and it is a very cute and thematic game that has really no store, but love reading the flavor text. Otherwise, I just like to play.

      I really enjoy games having a story. Things that don't capture a fantasy tend to lose my intrest pretty quickly.
      Eg: my group plays a firefighting game every now and then and while mechanically it's quite simple there's always a cool story at the end to laugh about. Like the time that someone raced into the building right before it collapsed to save... nothing, it was a blank tile 😂
      Or, another time we left someone in a corner for the entire game. There was a firefighter right there the whole time they were just distracted saving people in more danger and trying to beat back the fire. We had the time to save them before the building finally gave in... but someone else appeared next to them and we decided as a group it'd be way funnier to leave the guy behind and save the new one 😂
      I am sometimes in the mood for pure crunch/politics but there's a reason I don't always play diplomacy. Sometimes I just want to have fun and relax on paying attention to the rules
