Loving the conversation on consuerism. I have always been a book-in-hands girlie, but have been recently seriously thinking about getting an e-reader to cut back on both my spending and my ever growing collection. I think my book collecting hobby is getting refined as of late, the consumerism is getting to a lot of us in the book community I think! But, personally, I would rather give money to authors than my consumerism dollars on other "unneeded things." You for sure gave me a lot to think about! Excited for your future!! Enjoy the journey :)
So excited for you! I moved out when I was 25 turning 26! I’m glad I waited long enough where I felt more financially able! Can’t wait to see the new space!!
I also recently moved out of my parent's home because i wanted more control and freedom in my life and I love it so much! As you said, it's more control over your schedule, food, sleep and it's great to have it at a time where it feels right! Though packing all my books was an experience and I only have a fourth of your collection haha
After moving 4 different times since I turned 18, I've been trying to slow down on the physical book buying and unhaul more frequently. Kind of helps push you in that direction when you live in a city where you get less space in an apartment, so you have to keep the book space small.
I have a small pile of unhauled books in my room waiting to be donated and your little speech at the end made me think if i should add some of the ones i hold on to for sentimental reasons even tho I'll never read/reread them
This is so how I’ve felt recently, re book ownership and capitalism and memories. At the end of the day, I’ll maybe see a physical book I own and feel something once a year because my memory fleets lol so I’ve been thrilled to be reading off of my ebook with library rented books again 😊❤
I am totally excited for you and this video and I will be sending you my prayers and thoughts for you and your moving in your life wishing you all the best of luck love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤you will not know your self with your freedom and being closer to your friends ❤❤❤
Loved the conversation on consumerism and shifting priorities. I am not an e-reader kind of person, but I love audiobooks. So my library and I are becoming good friends, and I don't *need* to buy physical books as much anymore. Even when I go book shopping, I would think to myself, "is this something I want to keep in my small collection OR could I just wait to borrow from the library?"
This makes me love my kindle library even more lol beautiful collection though I really only have physical books related to my field that I want to highlight and share with my mentees also your curls are so pretty
Hello Jananie, Congrats on Moving. I suggest getting a dolly or a wheely cart for the move if your new place has elevators. It will make things ten times easier.
I'm happy to hear that you're letting go off the physical-book-craze 😅 As a library/ebook/audiobook person this has honestly always been weird and completely unrelatable to me when watching booktubers
I used to borrow library books but i stopped since i grew impatient with waiting for book availability. One day I'll visit a library again. It's a sure way to save money
My family is finally moving into a new house and i have a lot of special editions so does packing the books the way you did protect them and does it for paperbacks? Never packed in my life
I would say standing them upright and keeping them tight is key. I would also put clothes in the extra space in the boxes so the books don't move around and don't use too big boxes because books are HEAVY
I watched this instead of packing my bookshelves. 🤔 Because I'm moving out of my family home into my own apartment. 🧐 Thanks for the motivation, good luck with your move 🙌
I get my books from the library and only buy when I feel the urge to reread (unless it's a favorite instant buy author). I'm also in year 2 of rereading every single book I own to see they still suit me and that has cut down my collection like no other. I wish I had done it prior to my most recent move, but what can you do🤷♀️

Such a great point! Of all the things to be spending money on, physical books are certainly not so bad ☺️🫶🏾
Having shelves of books is amazing until you have to move 😂
Exactly! I had to use totes because they are heavy
So excited for you! I moved out when I was 25 turning 26! I’m glad I waited long enough where I felt more financially able! Can’t wait to see the new space!!
You officially have a library with 1000+ books!!😃
Moving into your first place is a huge accomplishment. Congrats to you and may blessings and confidence be by your side. Peace, Love and Happiness ❤

Will you be making a video showing all of the books you are unhauling?
being on your own is a journey, best wishes!
Wow that's a huge book collection! But it's good that you get to part with some books that you no longer need, maybe I need to do that too😅
I have a small pile of unhauled books in my room waiting to be donated and your little speech at the end made me think if i should add some of the ones i hold on to for sentimental reasons even tho I'll never read/reread them
Absolute taste with those shinee albums

There is something about this video that is therapeutic.
All the best in your move. 🏠
I’m sending you love❤❤
I'm so excited for your new journey and vlogs with this move!
Wishing you the best for this new beginning ✨ Living alone is a lot of fun, though packing books is not 😅!

Audiobooks are the bomb 👏🏾 and that's such a great question to ask yourself, I've been trying to do the same now
This makes me love my kindle library even more lol beautiful collection though I really only have physical books related to my field that I want to highlight and share with my mentees also your curls are so pretty

The SHINee albums took me by surprise!!!
this is so exciting!! i’m so happy for you :’)
I borrow all my books from the library and only buy my favourites, that's how I keep my collection to one bookshelf :p

It's definitely a common practice for a lot of people and something I did myself before booktube!
1000+ books? LIVING FOR THE FOUR DIGIT LIFESTYLE
Congratulations on the move!! That is so exciting for you!!
Good luck with moving 🌻
Thank you ☀️
So exciting, I'm so happy for you! I will also be moving soon so I'm extra enjoying the moving content
Packing is exhausting so I feel you 😪😂
We need a UNHAUL video where you show all the books you get rid off
My family is finally moving into a new house and i have a lot of special editions so does packing the books the way you did protect them and does it for paperbacks? Never packed in my life

Good for you! Unhaul it!
I need the book. 😂
“There’s so many books.” - My family when my new bookcase was finally stacked.
Step 2 of adulting. Step 1?! Spending on things we “need” ❤
So many books! 📚📚📚📚📚📚
I only get through about 1 book a year so I don’t think I’ll make it to the 1000 book mark 😂
But which books are you unhauling? Lol that's the interesting part
