sounds like one of those jam sessions where you get too faded and don't know what's happening, but everything you play just sounds amazing
That's pretty much what it is, apparently he got high off of edibles and made this album
Still 120% better than anything mainstream
Your listening to this sober? ;D
@@andrewbarnard3229
Yes I'm listening to this.....and don't call me sober😂
AND HERE I AM AGAIN.. ..oops caps#
I just want everyone to know that this album wasn't nominated for a grammy and the Washington post hated it and that should tell you everything about both.
This is nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards
@@Singerdude34 that's great, did it win?
Forward the frequency
The Grammy's have sucked forever. They have no clue and never did.
Grammys are shitty anyway who cares for them apart from shithole liberals.
This is one of the best albums ever made. Period.
Ever. Of All time.
That's a goddamn fact.
I don't agree with you blinkyabyss3346, but it is excellent.
One of the Best Rock Albums ever made. Period.
I've been an avid listener of rock music and a guitar player my entire life and this album is one of the best albums I have heard in years. F the critics S and F is a freaking masterpiece
Indeed, same here and well said!
one love my friend. i couldnt agree more.
His tone is off the hook!
the guitar tone on this album is outa control@@jasondiamond9505
my daughter and I listen to music together. I played this for her and told her to hear the emotion without words!
I use to do the same with my little girl. She liked to sing as well as various instruments. Check out Ariel's Attic-- Blackmore Rd. 🙂
MANNNNNNNN......So get this. I just turned 49 years old in April and my 29 year old co-worker/friend just turned me onto Sturgill tonight and I am absolutely flabbergasted that I HAVE NEVER heard anything about the man until now. My first pick off this record was 'Prepare For Impact' and I instantly created a new genre just for this album..... 'PSYCHEDELICOUNTRY'. Thank you Russell for introducing me to this AWESOMENESS. Mr. Simpson, brother....you are one cool cat and thank you for sharing that "inner light that the Buddhists showed you" 😉
I think Sturgill Simpson just changed my life.
CricketFun agreed
It is true!!!
He changed my life at Bonnaroo 2018. Sturgill is the fuckin man!!!
he just changed the size of my dick
I'm 45 and I've been hunting for good music I can get into that you crazy fucking kids listen to. Just found it.
The picture in the video is Sturgill leaving the studio after recording this album...
Truer words have never been spoken!
That's because he blew up the area with this shit
Similar pic of me leaving the gas n go restroom after some spicy chalupas.
Does that mean he finally got the mopar he couldn’t buy?
Or me leaving Taco Bell after using the bathroom.
Sturgill, like willie, Waylon, Rogers, and others, is showing what happens when country grows out it’s self imposed box.
I know it has been two years. But I just read this and you nail it, my friend. I am printing this.
I'm not so much a Country Music Fan, never heard of Sturgill before. Now I can not get enough of this Tune! Not enough of it I say!! Gimme 10 - 15 minutes of you this awesomeness, pleeease!
I'm always a little sad that this song isn't longer. I could use a good solid 8 minutes of this
that's why God made the loop button

My dad is 80 .. I just fed him a bourbon and cranked this up. Even He started toe tapping from the first sip.
Favorite comment! 😂✨🤘🏻✨💀
I'm 62 and played this for my 30 year old kid. He said "Thanks for putting this on!"
You’re a good son. Your heartfelt story brought tears to my eyes.
Only because he is a bad ass and you don't know half of his story.
I'd really recommend Mexican gin but bourbon good
When i'm working on 3D models or making a scene and i get artists block i usually throw on some sturgill simpson and smoke a joint and the ideas find their way back to me. Keep bringing the sauce my man!
Only A Joint
Got to see this amazing artist perform this music live right before Covid shut everything down. It was one of the best shows that I have ever seen! Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers set the stage on fire!
It's just kinda sad where Tyler Childers has went to lately. His music was sooooooo gooooooddddd. But I kinda get it. Just a little depressing.
Same as, week prior to lockdown seen him in Dublin
@@chadspurling7411 What's that supposed to mean?
Greatest album of the last ten years!
Sturg is a phenomenal guitarist
I watched sound and fury yesterday. I was blown away. I was like how long is this intro track to the movie? Then I was just sucked in. Amazing work.
I want to be sucked in
Absolutely blown away by this album. I dont even recognize where it's taken me to. Bow down and worship.
Jesus built my Hot Rod feel slowed down.
It's like a modern Heavy Metal. This is pure Gold. The hints of Soul Music with that old Rock vibe.
Its a love affair..mainly sturgill and my hot rod.
That's exactly what I thought a new Heavy Metal movie! Man I was blown away!!!
That is crazy...I watched Heavy Metal when I was 16 and this is a new version of Rock and action/violence.
The first time I watched it ...I had to watch it again because I was just awestruck.
I would love to see sturgil play this album cover to cover at the "Grand ol' oprey" just to see the expression of the "Old School" country stars hanging around there!
Matt Whelan all their rhinestones would explode and the cowboy hats combust
I think they'd appreciate this more than they do the modern Mass Market country music
Dude.. I just watched it back to back. The whole visual art of music, and amazing song writing on Netflix. This is shit I will tell my kids about, an try to make them understand.. just like my dad did with me with on “The Wall”
Thank you so much man, for this awesome music presentation. I needed this as a artist and a lover of music. I also felt this way when I found a copy of Sunday Valley years ago. I remember hearing Jesus boogie for the 1st time. It was like the 1st time I heard Minor Threat. It was raw an powerful, an your music still Carries that same feeling🎸🙏🏼🙌🏼
shaun lynch: what did you watch on Netflix, "back to back?" Dying to see it too.
@@CatherineSTodd The entire album is an anime/live action movie on Netflix, "Sound & Fury." It is awesome.
I live in country-music land. I actually know people who are mad about this. You go floyd coyboy! It's all good :)
lol fuck them, imagine being mad about someone doing what they want to do with their art and life
Middle TN all my life. They're pissed off about Upchurch too. Nobody cares what upsets suits.
I hope the hicks hate it. I like this guy'
lol who hates this guy...? I'll hand out spinnin back kicks to the liver for anyone who wants it.
"Sound & Fury" is the result of the old school anime "Heavy Metal" and "The Wall" having a love child while being layed over waiting for a flight in Japan.
Shit... keep'em coming Samurai Cowboy!
I need a longer version of this
Felina Megan yessss
Can someone whay I have been doing all this time I haven't heard of this artist!?!?! I mean this is now my favorite album of all time!! Simply amazing!! I am speechless!!! What have I been doing with my life until now!!?!?!
I'm a TOOL fan. Love this Song!!!
Careful with that axe Sturgill.
Nice that's some smooth wit man!
Clever boy.
I was about to say that.
Sturgill is amazing. I love this album.
They used to do this old-school lazer show in the Seattle Center Planetarium called "Lazer Floyd". Someone needs to make a lazer show based on this album!!
I grew up in Kirkland...I was there and great post!!
It's just one of the best albums that there is. Period.
This is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard and seen. Please, please more of this. Please. Please.
This just sounds like hard driving music. With the windows down an the speakers flexing hard..
well it does start with the beautiful roar of a V8
One of the best soundtracks ever listened!
Can't get enough of this
Absolute best guitar. Ever.
Totally agreed. I'm not one to chuck around the term 'epic', but this is clearly epic...👍
"There is an overwhelming amount of evidence for a Globa.."
Speak it Brother Sturgil
I freaking loved sound and fury please make more!!!!!!
I found this graphic novel and movie and album because i was on Z2 comics buying "Genesis" by Poppy. Which is absolutely gorgeous not to mention extremely well written. I wish i had bought the graphic novel of thisas well though. I will. Asap. The movie is so dang good though. No joke. No joke and this dude can flippin whale on that guitar. Skrate up. Flippin whale.
This is my favorite album by him. I like it a lot!!!! If people don’t like it well…… I do know stewpid is everywhere.
I have watched Sound & Fury 3 times now on Netflix I love it!
That intro adding to the Queens of the Stoneage Vibe. But in a great way. This album sounds like it’s going to be a departure from his previous sound and an overall different vibe. Haven’t been this excited about a new album in a long time. Can’t wait!
I used this song to show my music loving daughter, how you can have so many emotions and words, with no lyrics.
These needs to be on an hour long album all to itself
Best album of the year
I can't stop listening to this!!!
Sound and Fury rules. I like To smoke a joint and dance when Ronin or Remember To Breath is playing. That album rocks!!! Thank you Sturgill🙏
This dude PAID CASH AND BOUGHT HIs WAY OUT OF HIS OLD CONTRACT and dropped this album as a middle finger to his old producers after they told him he would never make it.
Love everything Sturgill puts out. NEVER have I heard such POWER in YEARS!
Hello Catherine, I appreciate the love, how are you doing, it’s nice meeting you here.
I didn't even finish the whole netflix special, got halfway through the the 4th song, paused it and bought the album. Damn, go Sturgill 🔥🔥🔥
Exactly!
I was privileged enough to experience this whole masterpiece while stoned outta my gourd. Even sober its just as fuckin amazing.
I had no idea how much I loved something I didn't know existed.
this album is incredible
Thank you for sharing your gift Sir. My world is better for it!!
Mmm this boy can play that guitar. So much feeling in his playing, and it sounds so good. Sounds like it belongs on the Heavy Metal soundtrack.
Amazing work, also equally amazing extended music video (aka the Anime)
Omg I love this!!
Love love love the video❤️
Fantastic!!!!
There hasn't been this good of a ride though album since Dark Side of the Moon!!!
Shane Wnukowski I don’t know man, Operation Mindcrime was a pretty good ride.
This is like cruising along a dusty road at sunset.
Welcome BACK MY BOY!!!
Just watched it on netflix,......music had me hypnotized
I jam on this everyday. I literally feel the world disappear.
Thanks for what your doing
This song definitely ROCKS! Would love to hear more of the same.
Sturgill: You've Done It. You've Done It Good.
This album is going to rock. Keep it up sturg.
This song has the vibes of an old school DOOM track, and I would absolutely love to slaughter some demons to this sick track
Yesssssss. Or halo 2 or reach.
Put down the controller and join real life... it's called a controller for a reason!
Craig Code Or just let people enjoy what's fun. It's not exactly harmful to you? Is it? Just let people be into what they're into.
I stuck this track thru a midi mixer just because of this comment, definitely has a Bobby Prince vibe
@@craigcode7103 screw you boomer
Am I to high or is there a face in the cloud?
Jonald Bone Both are true.
Yes
It’s a piece of angry cauliflower.
I was thinking the same thing lol
I'm so glad someone else saw it too. I was afraid I was losing it. Well more than usual.😂
Love it. Can’t wait to see it live
This album and the visual album is sick af
A masterless man, an outcast, an outlaw that is Sturgill Simpson
I still listen to this regularly...it's good sh*t!
I never heard of this performer before this was released on Netflix. Amazing sound amazing album I’m such a huge fan now.
Check his other stuff out. Highly recommend-
A sailors guide to earth
Metamodern sound in country music
Both amazing from start to finish
It’s sturgil flipping the bird at convention
Raw Sturgill is an element yet to be harvested by others
Yo sturgill, can we please get an extended version of this song, maybe like a good 7-8 min. I’m gettting some stranglehold vibes where you just crank it up for a while, jam out, and listening to a guitar get shredded for a while. I felt like I made it halfway thru and it stopped buffering lol
Good ole "Jan Hammer" that performed most of the instrumental tracks on the original "Miami Vice" did something like this back in the day. It was called "Beyond the minds eye". So watching this on Netflix 3 times now, I can see where Sturgill was going. He watched "Heavy Metal" and "The Wall" pretty close to each other.. Got an amazing "Happy Ending" from the massage parlor and knew what he needed to do!
Just keep it up man, if others are pissed for some reason.. well just know the other 50% of us has your back.
The Shape of Country to Come by Sturgill Simpson
God, I hope you're right.
This Luke Combs, Dan & Shay and Toby Keith shit can't stand.
I'd like to think the Man in Black would approve of this, may he rest in peace having reunited with his wife and mother.
No it's definitely "Ronin".
Wouldn’t even consider Sturgill country at this point. He’s a musical artist.
Sunday Valley in outer space... Love it!
The beat is 🔥💥
Country to Psychedelic Country to fucking rock-anime this is the greatest artist of our time.
Yes!
Joe Rogan Podcast brought me here and I love this music...
Give me a 10 minute version of this would ya
My only complaint about this song is that it's so short. My God it would be so sick if it was like 10 mins. But still easily one of my favorite instrumentals of all time.
Man Sound and Fury blew my mind outrageous!!!
To think if not for his wife pushing music he could still be setting in a damn railroad yard wasting away
DJ Smith lets not think of a world where that’s the case let’s think of the fact we have Sturgill and his music
What railroad did he work for?
😂😂
@@johnbaccarie3319 BNSF if I remember correctly

Sturgill with the Alex Jones clip for the win! 😂
That's actually Joe Rogan doing an Alex Jones impression! Still Awesome
@@jwesleycutrer EVEN BETTER! lol. Im not big into anime but holy shit the netflix movie is awesome. Mushrooms and watching that is now on my bucket list.
@0xHAZ3x0 the marketing of the movie went over my head. I never noticed it but admittedly I skip over a lot. He dropped the album and "Sturgill Simpson Presents Sound and Fury" on Netflix. IMHO the music is better after watching it and I've never watched anime in my life.
@@jwesleycutrer How do you know?
KEIGAN McD i was on shrooms last night watching this gonna do it again tonight!
Tripping balls on shrooms or LSD and blasting this is amazing. He's got alot of soul in that guitar.
Definitely going to bang to this soon
Great music! Love it!!!!
Thats Rogan at the beginning doing his Alex Jones impression. Haha great stuff.
Amazing album from start to finish as always
Wish it didn’t suddenly cut out
I wish this song was longer!! So fucking awesome!
Sturgill meets Floyd. Fuckin love the sound, Can't wait till you're touring the west coast again
Cool tune, the new record absolutely rocks. Get the hint of some David Gilmour style guitar work in there too, awesome stuff.
Reminds me of 'The Wall'.
Ya Sturg is a big Floyd fan. Getting huge floyd vibes here
Love this
