This has to be "THE" best video on REW hands down. Can't thank you enough. There are only few people who can explain what they know in an easy to understand manner. 🙏🏼
Hi Mohan, thank you so much for your comment. I am so glad you were able to get a lot out of the video!
Cheers,
-Graham
I agree. REALLY helpful and thorough!
💯🙌🏼👌🏽

Part 3... Yes please. Agree with others that this is one of the more useful REW videos available.
Thanks so much for watching and for the feedback. I truly appreciate it!
@@MusicCityAcoustics glad the feedback is appreciated. Does that mean we can expect a part 3 detailing using the measurements for venues??
@@jedi774 We will definitely be making a Part 3. I'm not quite sure when yet, but it will happen eventually.
@@MusicCityAcoustics Looking forward to it. Great video. I'd love to see you shoot a small PA rig, as well.
@@MusicCityAcoustics Looking fwd to Part 3 for a church PA system application
I would personally love to see a part 3 of this series, It's been very informative and educational
So good. Definitely interested in a part 3 regarding clarity & measurement of venues, houses of worship etc.
Thanks, David! I'll add that to the list of topics for a possible Pt. 3!
@@MusicCityAcoustics Yes please! I'm mostly into acoustics in concert halls and venues and I would love to see Pt.3 talking about clarity and definition.
The Part 3 is a MUST ! Please, teach us how to align the phases of a 3 ways sound box. Thanks !
Thanks so much, Danilo. We're working on part three, but our focus and expertise are in room acoustics. Unfortunately, driver alignment within a speaker is out of our wheelhouse. REW can certainly be used for it, though.
I'd absolutely love to see a part 3 on how to use REW in a live venue setting. That's something that will help my church really tune the speakers to the room.
in that instance, you would probably do less room treament, and more EQ. you would set up your calibrated mic according to the steps in the first video, then if you have a DSP or a physical graphic eq in the signal chain, you would adjust the GEQ to flatten the response that the mic hears within the room while blasting pink noise.
This is one of the best REW videos out there. amazing!!
Appreciate the time you put in to explaining the process and analysis. Great job. I am going to give it a try. Cheers.
Thank you for this! Just starting to test my new space and I'm finding your videos very helpful.
And YES to a part 3!!
Awesome teaching bro. Can't wait for the part three
Bestest explanatory video. Let's have that part 3.👏👏👏
Congratulations for your video. The best Rew analysis on youtube
Probably the best video out there on REW! Well done guys!
Hi Joshua, thank you so much for watching and the comment. I really appreciate it!
Agree
@@franckrichard9812 Thanks so much!
I totally agree, by far the most detailed and easy to follow video I’ve ever seen on REW. STEP TO THE HEAD OF THE CLASS. 🎉❤
Dude that vid is one of the most incredible ever - I went from "squiggly lines - i dont get it" to "OH!" so many times...much gratitude for this work.❤✨
Best video on UA-cam! Please make part3!
Yes please, a part 3 😀👍
Great video. Thanks! It would be great to have part3!
These two videos have been outstanding. Thank you so much for putting in what I'm sure was a ton of work to format this so eloquently! I've actually been putting this video off cuz I was worried REW was going to be too complex (given all the options it provides), but after finally watching this I don't feel so intimidated anymore :)
part 3 .... will be great
Amazing, I finally understood so much in a single shot. Thank you so much!
Hi Filippo, I am so glad you learned a lot from the video. Thank you so much for commenting! We'll have more videos coming out soon!
This was the best video I've found to help interpret the various confusing aspects of REW. Thanks so much
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you so much, one of the best video on the REW tool. Looking forward for part 3
Thank you for making these videos. I'm about to make curves for a pair of vintage PA cabs that I've restored so I can push around EQ sliders in hopes of flattening out the very peaky response.
This is an amazing video!!! Please do a part three 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Very helpful video to use REW. Thanks a lot.
This video explained a lot of my questions!! Thank you for sharing this incredible knowledge!
Amazing video and very useful information, thank you. Look foward to watch your part 3 which calibrate home theater setup!
Great video! I have been looking for someone to really explain how to interpet the data and you do a great job of that! :)
Amazing! Thanks!
Great tutorial. Thanks a lot!!!
Excellent video! Would love to see a part 3 to round out the whole thing!
GREAT video on REW, been using it for years but never took the time to dive into all the different results from my measurements. I EQ both home and car audio, I can see some of these features to implement in my upcoming car audio tune. Thanks! More please!
Great! Keep on doing it! Interested in phase alignment the most.
Thank you for such a informative video. Everything was explained in great detail and for people like myself who found REW overwhelming this gives a good insight into this amazing tool. Again, thanks for taking the time to put this together. Much appreciated
You are very welcome! I am so happy to hear the video was helpful!
I would love to see part 3 discussing clarity!
Remarkable tutorial !
Live audio engineer here! I'd love a Part 3 to cover those additional topics you mentioned! :)
love to see clarity
Part 3 please.. great works and thanks for sharing.
Thank you sir. Very well done! I hope to see more videos about REW from you.
I feel like I should have paid to watch this. It’s so good.
this is so great! thank you, I really appreciate your work. WOuld definitely like to see a part 3! greetings.
Thank you.
This is a god damn masterclass.
Yeah, great video, More please!
Another +1 for part 3, John's developed great software. The trick is getting the best from it.
I've definitely benefited from part 2 and the proposed part 3 has me subscribing.
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! We're still compiling ideas for part 3 but will definitely make it happen!
The way you explain and use REW is very easy to understand. Please continue with another REW part 3 and more.
There's still a lot of function in REW that i still can't understand.
For example using loop back or accoustic time reference when measuring.
Good job and good sharing bro 👍👍👍
Thanks so much! We have a few videos in the works but will definitely try to create another REW video soon. Cheers!
Thanks, What a ride, still need to measure my studio, this process is worky but hopefully pays itself out!
Soo much good knowledge and soo well explained. Thank you very much 🤩
Superbly explained. I would love to see a part three with hi-fi/audiophile listening room.
Great video!
This was great. Coming from a non-audio engineering background, your pt1 & pt2 videos were a supercharge on REW.
Would love to see videos on (1) improving clarity for live performances, and (2) using REW to determine studio monitor calibration PEQ settings.
wow, such a great video! it clarified a LOT of confusion I had. please, make more videos!
Thanks so much! We have more videos coming soon with Acoustics Insider!
Wow such a great video! I watched it taking my time and taking a lot of precious notes.
Indeed I fought for years against a null at around 40Hz which must be absolutely impossible to tame, regardless the big investment in adsorption!
Excellent!!!. thanks.👍
I know a month behind but thank you for this much more in depth video about what do do after. I had an idea but i never really understood how to fix the actual correction
You are very welcome! I hope it helps!
GJ, so concise!
My head hurts...too many questions....I'll keep absorbing, great video 👍🏻
Thank you! I've asked others more about the different measurements in REW for my home theater and they always say, don't worry about anything else as only SPL is need for the subs. I was wondering WHERE to put panels and at what frequencies problems were occurring. I learned a lot from your videos, although I need watch again, and then re-watch a few more times after.
Thank you so much for this!
Yeah, I'd love to learn a little more about larger live-music spaces, and would appreciate a video on the measurements relevant to that.
Hey Sammy, I will definitely keep that in mind and try to make another video asap.
i plan to do large room/ worship halls measurements, yes, please do part 3 of this series, hopefully focusing on a typical worship hall measurement. the series is very helpful. 🙂
A Part 3 would be awesome. I would like to see all this applied to larger venues, Houses of Worship, etc.
Nice video, well done! Greetings from Argentina
Hi ! Awsome contents ! It would be great to have a part 3 with a procedure to optimize P.A.s ! Cheers !
Yeah, I'd like to know more about clarity. Please do a pt. 3.
By far the best video I could find abt REW. That is amazing work thank you.
I was just hoping I could learn how I could actually use this to do eq corrections from my DAW or computer.
Hi Josh! Thanks so much!
You can use your measurements to determine what should be eq'd to improve your room's response. To start, I'd look at only cutting frequencies and don't eq anything below 500Hz. Keep the eq moves as broad as possible, and don't focus too much on little bumps here or there. The goal is to create a more balanced response, not to get surgical and fix every little thing.
Fire!!!!!
Part 3 please!!
Part 3 Please!
Thanks for the videos and I was surprised that a company dedicated to acoustic treatment has made video 2.
Finally a video explaining how to interpret a measurement.
I encourage you to make a 3.4 video, etc. and if possible, take into account how to interpret the Group Delay, ETC and see what happens with the Waterfall
at lower frequencies below the Schroeder frequency, we apply equalization.
It would be nice to be able to see the decay using equalization.

Greetings
Part 3 yes pls
I have the same effect just moving my speakers around the room. Just had to apply basic acoutic rules and its works for me)
Great video...excited to dive into the REW software! I am interested in learning more about Clarity. Improving dialogue intelligibility is one of my goals in treating my home theater.
This is a really great tutorial, everything is cleary explainened. Me too i have a Beyer MM1, very good measurement microphone
Hi Roberto! Thank you so much! The MM1 is great, I have been using it for years.
That`s a highly competent and interesting video. I know I`ll have to study it a second time and I am sure I can take a lot of advantages out of it for modifying my own studio. Thank`s a lot. (/from Germany) 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment. Cheers!
Holy Moly....this is VERY complete...and kinda scary!! :)
Thanks, David!
Would def love to see a part 3 as well in regards to tuning a Church Auditorium with these tools.
Should be viewing the frequency graphs in log scale. Awesome content, BTW!
Yes, that is absolutely correct, and thank you for pointing it out. At some point, while filming this I must have accidentally hit the linear/log view button and didn't realize it. I'll be adding an article to our website about the videos soon and will be sure to clarify the view settings there.
I just discovered REW and this video series was linked on the home page. WOW! Wish all software I use had such an amazing tutorial series. Yes, please do a Part 3. Also, I'd love it if there was a "Part 0" in which you go over basic acoustics... at least for what's useful for room acoustics. Anyway, thank you!
Hey! I am so glad you found the video helpful. We don't have a part 0 but we did just do a four part video series (half on our channel and half on the acoustics insider channel) where we go through the entire process of designing, treating, and testing a studio. Check it out!
@@MusicCityAcoustics THANK YOU! Amazing stuff.
This is quality content. Thank you
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for the kind words! Cheers!
@@MusicCityAcoustics Hi! My celling is 8 foot from the floor, and my main issue in my room right now is at 100 - 200hz . Is it ok to mount a 2" lets say 4" away from the celling? I know there is a compromise but that 100 - 200hz region is so anoying, and I have panels on the side walls and rear wall to manage the mids and hihgs. thanks
Very informative! I am looking forward for the part 3. It would be great if you could explain how to take measurements for aligning a sub and main speakers. For instance, is setting acoustic reference required when performing measurements, is prior equalization of each speaker required, etc. I find this part very confusing and I still didn't manage to get a full grasp on it.
part 3... yes
Dobra robota. (good job) greetings from Poland
Hey! Thanks so much for watching!
Hey Graham! I hope all is well. I'd love to see a series on setting up a surround sound room. I'm looking to setup a 7.1.4 studio. It would be nice to see the process from that perspective,
Thanks for this very good and informative video. I have orderded the usb mic and am looking forward to try this program on my studio :)
You are very welcome! Best of luck with your testing!
Ya man keep going! I'm trying to get my PA dialed.. would love to see if there's distortion from amps etc. Chant with me - Part 3! Part 3! Part 3!! :)
Yes I need for churches and venues,
Amazing video. Gives people a lot of tools. I'm curious why you didn't have a section on using REW to give you recommended EQ settings.
View Settings and standards? Didnt find in a description :) Love the video.

Waiting for part 3
Part 3 please 🙏🙏
Thank you for the video! This is awesome. Requesting part 3 with eq correction on mac... There is no Equalizer APO on mac and I don't know which software to use to get the correction after the measurement.
Definitely Looking Forward to part 3, 4 or 5 :) Thank you for this Tutorial! Best Breakdown of REW I've seen! I'd Love to see how adjusting Delay can improve the coverage as I'm just on the edge of beginning to understand how phase coherency especially in Low-End Audio can really effect how you perceive things... I bet you could get me the correct complete picture of how Phase adjustment could improve or ruin a coverage plane. Just a beginner here. Are there any books that clearly show how I can make meaningful changes to the PA I work with to improve consistency of Frequency Response and improved Impact? I'll take all the help I can get! So much of the info I find dives so deep so quick I don' know how to make sense of the math of it all.
Tanks. 😃These examples and things make sense, but I really have the problem with the soundcard and the calibration&volume adjusting parts.
Great videos. You def wake up earlier than me sir! Any chance you are going to make that part 3?
Thank you, this is great.
Can you show how to (in pt.3):
1. Measure a PA system outdoors?
2. Measure delay between Subs and Tops?
I want to see more of the clarity
super great details. please do more to help educate me others like me... not smart people. k thanks bye
Great tutorial. Thanks. I would be interested in learning more about the clarity adn lowest phase analysis. Are you able to do a viseo on this?
Hey! Thanks so much. We have a few other videos in the pipeline right now but I will definitely keep that in mind and try to make a part 3 video as soon as possible.
