My sales have just started to pick up again on my low end raw sales. Someone shopped my page and bought 16 cards while I’m in the middle of your video 😂
That is great! I'm happy to hear that it's started to pick up. I go through ups and downs as well. This past July has been one of my best months ever, but previous to that June was quite slow for me.
New members here.. love the content! I am building my lowend card stacks and looking to start selling threw eBay very soon. I was wondering how do you know what too sell your cards for? Like what do you use to create a price point?
Hi JR, just like the previous comment has said, I too just filter recently sold and usually take the average of what the price has been selling for. I usually try to price competitively, and I adjust my price based on the condition of my card. I also take into consideration the cost of what I originally paid for the card, although that is not as big of a factor for because I am sometimes willing to take a loss on a card if it allows me to get more bulk sales from a single buyer or gives me the opportunity to have them to continue to come back and buy more from me. Also, thanks for checking out my content. I am glad that you are finding value in my videos!
Whats up bro! Started selling low end cards because of you! Can't say that it's been a great way to keep busy when there's nothing else to do. I have a different insight on looking at low-end cards now and all I see is potential $$$. Thanks and love watching the vids you put up. Much love fam 🤙
Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it! I won't lie, it's a grind and as I've scaled up it's taking more and more time. But I really do love the process even if the profits are minimal, but that's some extra cash I can use to buy some bigger cards I've been wanting to add to my collection!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the weekly sales. Those fees can hurt especially if you are selling cards that require first class shipping whether you charge for shipping or do free shipping, the cost of shipping first class vs standard envelope really eats into the bottom line. This is the main reason why most cards I deal with are in the $20 and under range.
Great content keeping busy your ebay store is flying.. With those sales ebay algorithm must love you.. What's your ebay store called need to have a look.. 👍👍👍🇮🇪
Thank you! It was slow start to get to this point. I really started off slow - listing 3 cards a day back in October 2021. Now I'm up to listing 20 cards a day. It takes more time sure, but it has been a slow and steady growth and it has really helped me with ebays algorithm! Here is a link to my store: www.ebay.com/str/courtsidecardsandcollectibles
I use Adobe Premier Pro. I used to use iMovie, but started using Adobe at the beginning of this year as I got a new PC at that time. It took me awhile to learn how to use it efficiently and it also took many UA-cam tutorials on editing to learn certain things lol. But I love using it!
Hi Jayson! Yes you still can ship patch cards through standard envelope, but I would place them in card savers rather than top loaders so it still fits within the dimensions.
Hi Alex, I have been using Buy it Now with my listings. I haven't really explored auctions because I prefer to set a fixed price with my cards. If I were to do auctions, I would use it to sell in bulk lots of players or sets that I haven't been able to move or have been sitting in my store for some time.
Thanks Rand-Man, I used to charge $0.91 for shipping, but since March I went to free shipping. I feel there are pros and cons to it. With free shipping, I hope to entice buyers to buy more than one card from me which helps lower the cost of eBay fees and shipping. However, it does take away from more potential profit. When I charged $0.91 to ship it helped offset the cost of shipping (at the time $0.53) and the $0.30 ebay fee added per sales transaction. But what I do is I tack on the charge of shipping to the price which kind of offsets it. However, there you are also going against human perception in which someone may see a card that is being sold at $0.99 + $1 shipping a better buy than a card listed as $1.99 free shipping. It's the perception of the price that they see. To answer your question about free shipping, I don't think it's for everyone. If you plan on selling in volume, then maybe free shipping will help. But if you just only sell a few cards here and there, then charging for shipping may be the way to go. I think most people will side on the charging for shipping. For me, doing free shipping as increase my sales, but I have also taken some losses on cards that I've sold because of it.
How can I list past the 250 limit am new to ebay. I have reached the limit I still have a lot of inventory that can be posted right know am just choosing the most value to post I have.
I'm not quite sure how to increase the limit without having to open an ebay store. But I remember reading or hearing from someone that if you list consistently and continue to make sales, then ebay will increase your free listing limit. Not sure if it's true though. I have an eBay store subscription which allows me to have 10000 listings a month. If you are starting off slow, the best thing I can think of doing is listing cards that will sell. Listing the cards with the most value helps too, to ensure that you can get the most bang for your buck at the limited number of free listings. The reason why I say listing cards that will sell is because if the card doesn't sell, then it gets relisted the next month and that will take away from one of your free listings (this is based off of fixed price/buy it now though - if you listing auctions, then those cards will most likely sell.
Love your videos! They've been really helpful in changing my mindset when it comes to selling cards. Right now, I have a cheap $15 photo box from Amazon and I'm looking for something better that doesn't glare. What do you use for taking pictures?
Hi Jaclyn, I use a similar photo box from Amazon. One of those smaller ones that can fit on a desk. Now there are glares that can happen, but I try to position the cards in a way it doesn't show and I turn off the lights in the room when I do so (I usually take pictures late at night).
Hi Martin, I have all my cards listed as Buy it Now. I don't really deal with auctions as much. I used to do auctions about a year ago, but switched to more of a fixed price model. I would consider auctions though to sell bulk lots of cards I can't really sell or those that have been sitting for months on my eBay store.
I ship them using eBay's standard envelope with a plain white envelope. I made a video on how I ship using eBay's standard envelope. It's not 100% foolproof and it does have it's cons, but I find it works really well for me.
So I see you are including free shipping. Are you still using eBay Standard Envelope? Or just PWE and what has been your return rate/item not received rate?
I use eBay Standard Envelope which I mail in a PWE. While the tracking system is somewhat flawed with eBay's standard envelope, at least it is something. In terms of return rate/item not received rate - I haven't had a return request in quite a while, probably 5 months. In terms of item not received, it's really low, probably around 1% if not less than that. I haven't had an item not received request for the last 2 months or so. They come so few and far between and with lower dollar cards, I can take the hit as I've probably made the money somewhere along the lines. When selling these lower end cards, it's all about volume for me.

Depends on your goals. U can always try social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, but card shows is, where I'd go if you have some near, by your area.
@@ACD1994 heard! Yea I’m really just trying to fund a pc. I want to collect a few of my favorite players but my wallet can’t take the beating. Selling singles in envelopes to the same market I’m buying from seems like the most convenient way to start recovering the costs a bit. Baby steps, lol.
Like Andrew said, it does depend on what your goals are. If you plan on selling in large volume, then opening a store may help because it gives a larger amount of free listings per month. Hi, yes I do ship PWE. That's my main method of shipping. I will ship first class on higher dollar cards (over $20) or for those who buy a large amount of cards from me in a single order.
I ship my cards through a plain white envelope using eBay's standard shipping. I've done a video in the past about shipping through this method and my process. You can check it out right here: ua-cam.com/video/-9xga_lEU50/v-deo.html I also did another video about the concerns with using this shipping method right here too: ua-cam.com/video/wj-AC8XUXqI/v-deo.html I've also done a video about my process of how I list my cards, which can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/ENAda4XzlKg/v-deo.html I can definitely do a refresher for my viewers too though. Thanks for the questions and I hope those videos help!
New subscriber, got me to actually start posting some of my lower end stuff on eBay and see the growth of my eBay over time: love how you show tips like being consistent thinking about trying to start with 5 listings a day and see if there’s a major difference in the algorithm, luckily I got approved to be a Whatnot seller so I don’t have to solely depend on what sells on eBay to grow my collection and excited to see where I am in the next year
Gotta help you on that UA-cam algorithm since your videos are super good n I’ll probably need more of them to watch cuz ik im gonna watch all of these wayyyy too fast
Thanks! I think being consistent is really key in help gaining more sales. As long as you are active and listing daily - even if it's just 5 cards a day it should make a difference. But don't neglect price point too. If your cards are priced too high, even if you list daily, it won't do good if the card doesn't sell. So not only is consistency key, but what you sell and what price you sell it, determines if sells quickly or not. But starting off with listing daily will help push your listings up. Also it's great that you got approved with Whatnot! People seem to be doing really well on that platform. I really haven't explored it much, but am quite intrigued by it. Keep it going and I'm sure you will do really well! And thank you for checking out my videos, I really appreciate it!
You can select the free shipping option when you make your listing on the delivery section where you select how you plan on shipping your card. There should be a button you can click to active free shipping for the listing. Hope that helps!
I usually go with previous sales prices from eBay. That's how I price my cards out. Most cards are pretty cheap, but eBay won't let me list a card as a buy it now for less than $1.
I'm like a month in, only have about a dozen listings, and have only had 1 sale (a Connor Bedard low end). I find figuring out shipping to be the biggest time-killer for setting up a listing - I'm always unsure which one to use as I don't know where a buyer will be, so how do you know what to charge for a super cheap card (I'm in Canada)
I listen to your as advice I’ve been selling cards on on eBay for 6 months now all to get as the day I made 70 sells But They slow but I’m praying to get some consistent sells I only probably sell 1 car daily how to get the consistent sells josh
When I started off, I sold roughly 1 card a day. It took time to get multiple sales per day. There are many factors that go into it: 1. Are you listing cards daily? If so, how many are you listing daily. You don't want to grow too fast to the point where you end up not listing consistently. I started off listing only 3 cards per day and as I was able to make sales, I started to slowly increase the number I listed per day. But it is ok to just stay at a slower pace to build that level of consistency. 2. The price point is just as important. How are you pricing your cards? I try to stay within the most recent sales, but am also not afraid to sell at a lower price just so that I can move the cards quickly and add more cards to the store. I would take loses from time to time especially on cards that don''t really move. I chalk that up to a learning experience. 3. How much are you charging for shipping? I use the plain white envelopes and ship through eBay's Standard Shipping. I use to charge $0.53 a card, but after a few months went with free shipping. I realized that most buyers are not willing to pay $4 shipping for a card that is only worth $2. Hopefully this a good starting point to take a look at your process and find what works for you. Just keep staying consistent.
Whqts your profit on a crd you sell on ebay for 2.00 and bought for $0.50? I figure ebay fees $0.25, shipping, $0.75, top loader $0.25 so profit is $0.25?
If I sell a card for $2.00 my fees end up being $0.53 (normally it's $0.23, but there is a $0.30 ebay fee added to the final sale), shipping a low end card through standard envelope is $0.57, for top loaders I pay $5 for a pack of 25 - so that makes it $0.20 per top loader. But I sometimes get a majority of my top loaders from card shows from sellers who have their cards in top loaders when I buy them. With that in mind, that would make the total profit, of $0.70.
I've just never done the math.. eBay: 12.9% + $.30 per order Shipping: $.10 per envelope + $.60 per stamp. Sell a card for $2 make $.75 Sell a card for $5 make $3.36 (not counting for time and effort) Are there any other fees you are running into?
There are other smaller fees that can occur - if the buyer is international, then ebay adds an international fee on the sale. I pay 12% fees and I save an extra 10% off those fees for being a top rated seller. It's not much, but it does add up over time. eBay's fees are calculated based on the price sold + taxes if the buyer pays sales tax + shipping (if the seller charges shipping). That's a fee that I think most people don't take into account. For shipping, I pay $0.57 to ship through eBay's standard envelope. The $0.30 per order is one of the bigger fees in my opinion especially when selling low end sports cards. It really eats into your net profit. What I try to aim for is for buyers to buy multiple cards in one single order which helps cut down the fees and cost of shipping.
I started an EBay store a month ago. To date sold 57 cards for just shy of $1200. Got a big boost because of a jrod sp I sold for 415 within two hours of listing it. But I have certainly sold several 1-2 dollar cards.
That's great, Anthony! Not bad after selling 57 cards. You did well on that Jrod card - after that Home Run Derby, his stuff just went white hot. There's definitely a lot of opportunity still in selling sports cards, whether it is low end or the pricier cards. Keep it up!
GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS. I DO NOT MAKE MUCH MONEY AT IT. BUT I DO ENJOY THE GRIND. PLUS IT HELPS ME GET RID OF MY OLD COLLECTION ......THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT CONTENT
Thanks Sam, always appreciate your support! The grind is really when selling low end sports cards. As you said, it's also a great way to get rid of your old collection and put that money into newer cards to add to your collection!
Man free cards as gifts are great items to sell if you are not into keeping them in your collection or you can use those to fund bigger purchases. I'm surprised sometimes that when I get free thrown ins from purchases and I'm able to sell them online to offset the cost of the cards.
For sourcing - I would say I spent about 5 hours driving to a card show and spending time looking for cards. As for the drive time to drop off the cards at the Post Office, it's hard to say. There's a mailbox and Post Office near my work and I usually just go a drop them off on my lunch break, which shouldn't take more than 15 minutes a day.
Do you know of a way to avoid ebay listing fees? I know they allow you to list up to 250 cards for free each month, but I find that a lot of that 250 gets used up on cards being automatically relisted.
The previous comment makes a good point. If you are selling multiple cards in a set, then you can create one listing with variations. I believe you can apply this to not just only sets, but with most cards. It creates a drop down menu for the buyer and they can select which card they want to purchase. However, the only thing I see that makes this difficult is the visibility of the card you are selling. Buyers will have to go through the drop down to see what cards you have rather than seeing them listed right on the search page. The listing fees can become cumbersome if cards you are listing are not selling because they end up relisting and that counts as one of your free listings per month. It is difficult to avoid - but one thing you can try to do is take the cards that aren't selling and try selling them in lots as a single listing. Hope this helps answer your question. Thanks!

I can definitely do a refresher for my viewers too though. Thanks for the questions and I hope those videos help!
@@JoshUnboxed824 awesome!!
How do you offer free shipping sorry new to this
You can select the free shipping option when you make your listing on the delivery section where you select how you plan on shipping your card. There should be a button you can click to active free shipping for the listing. Hope that helps!
Curious, do these cards you sell list in the becket for the price you sell them for or are they like .10 cards ?
I usually go with previous sales prices from eBay. That's how I price my cards out. Most cards are pretty cheap, but eBay won't let me list a card as a buy it now for less than $1.
I'm like a month in, only have about a dozen listings, and have only had 1 sale (a Connor Bedard low end). I find figuring out shipping to be the biggest time-killer for setting up a listing - I'm always unsure which one to use as I don't know where a buyer will be, so how do you know what to charge for a super cheap card (I'm in Canada)
I listen to your as advice I’ve been selling cards on on eBay for 6 months now all to get as the day I made 70 sells
But They slow but I’m praying to get some consistent sells I only probably sell 1 car daily how to get the consistent sells josh
When I started off, I sold roughly 1 card a day. It took time to get multiple sales per day. There are many factors that go into it:
Ive watched 3 quarters of vid, but nice cards so far, find it interesting difference in US and Oz market
Thanks for watching though some of the video and I'm glad you enjoyed some of the cards you saw that I've been selling! Appreciate you watching!
Love that Chris Childs....he is from my hometown and I have his rookie card on my local athlete HOF shelf. Would love that card!
Nice! Chris Childs to you is like Paul George to me. He is from my hometown, so because of that, I have a small Paul George collection myself.
I've just never done the math..
eBay: 12.9% + $.30 per order
Shipping: $.10 per envelope + $.60 per stamp.
Sell a card for $2 make $.75
Sell a card for $5 make $3.36 (not counting for time and effort)
Are there any other fees you are running into?
The Tribal Chief. The Head of the Table. 🤘
I acknowledge him!
Should be throwing up the ☝️ not too sweet
I started an EBay store a month ago. To date sold 57 cards for just shy of $1200. Got a big boost because of a jrod sp I sold for 415 within two hours of listing it. But I have certainly sold several 1-2 dollar cards.
That's great, Anthony! Not bad after selling 57 cards. You did well on that Jrod card - after that Home Run Derby, his stuff just went white hot. There's definitely a lot of opportunity still in selling sports cards, whether it is low end or the pricier cards. Keep it up!
@@JoshUnboxed824 Also, how are you determining pricing?
I just started 2 weeks ago selling some cards old Walkmans but I didn't know how bad were the ebay fees.
As you said, it's also a great way to get rid of your old collection and put that money into newer cards to add to your collection!
received thousands of vintage hockey cards for free as gifts i gotta flip all those maurice richard and wayne gretzky cards
Man free cards as gifts are great items to sell if you are not into keeping them in your collection or you can use those to fund bigger purchases. I'm surprised sometimes that when I get free thrown ins from purchases and I'm able to sell them online to offset the cost of the cards.
$121 can go a long way on eBay, nice video man!
It sure can! I was able to use some of that money to help me with buy some Currys and also help build my 1993 Finest Refractor set!
What was the time/travel spent for that week of card selling?
For sourcing - I would say I spent about 5 hours driving to a card show and spending time looking for cards. As for the drive time to drop off the cards at the Post Office, it's hard to say. There's a mailbox and Post Office near my work and I usually just go a drop them off on my lunch break, which shouldn't take more than 15 minutes a day.
Do you know of a way to avoid ebay listing fees? I know they allow you to list up to 250 cards for free each month, but I find that a lot of that 250 gets used up on cards being automatically relisted.
You can use variation listings on each card build like a set
Thanks!
