Man, I'm glad I found your videos. Our playing styles are somewhat similar and I feel I really get a better idea about what sound i'd get when listening to you try out gear. Keep it up ✌
Proud owner of both the Audio Surplus: DK and MP pedals directly from these demos...incredibly amazing sounds I couldn't find any where else! I can't tell you how many pedals I've sold off because of the uniqueness of ground covered by these two. Great work and kudos for giving visible to the dark corners of the pockets of small builders crafting gold out there!🤘
As someone who’s favorite rig setup is a mid boost in front of a high gain amp, i’ve always been a fan of using different types of dirt pedals before my mid boost to help give my rhythm playing a different feel and character compared to the typical tight boosted mids that you hear in a lot of really heavy music nowadays. I can go from tight thrashy 7 string riffs in Bb standard to throwing a Big Muff in front of a parametric EQ boosting the 800hz & 1Khz frequencies and get a sound reminiscent of an HM-2 but with so much more dynamic character than with an HM-2. The Big Muff being used as an on/off boost really helps with being able to maintain clarity for when I play fast, but also give my guitar tone a lot more meat and muscle for really slow chug riffs with their own unique characteristics.
@ it is! I definitely recommend giving it a try and trying it for diffent types of playing wether it be for playing riffs reminiscent of Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel or wether you wanna play more Doom or Sludge oriented riffs with an added midrange bump.
Love the Cyst Mode! So many sounds in that pedal, all of them horrifying in the best possible way. Want the P Isabella and the Unpleasant Surprise. (Honestly, I'd take any of these!) And this is the most appealing demo of the Dornenkrone I've heard. Love those honking staccato sounds at the start. So nice to hear these pedals not run into a dimed high gain amp. Cheers.
Thank you! Yeah, the four pedals you mentioned are so insanely good. The Cyst Mode is completely unhinged, in the best ways possible. The P. Isabella is the first muff style fuzz I’ve loved and the Unpleasant Surprise and Dornenkrone are some of the most intense and satisfying pedals ever.
Outside of a bit of shoegaze, I generally do not play the style of music these pedals are primarily designed for. But like all your demos, this was absolutely great!
Pepers Rot, Seymour Duncan TT Mayhem, Holy Island Abracadaver, TSL Dual Tube Muff Master, IdiotBox Dungeon MASTER, Does It Doom: Baghdad, Velouria FX Witchcraft, Toneczar Vault, and for simplicity the EQD Acapulco Gold are also good one to enter on this list, maybe some of the Stone Deaf FX pedals too.
Ah, to be atop a pile of the bones of my enemies. Steam rising off my hulking bloodied shoulders as I smolder away, plotting my next conquest of domination.
These all sound great! I already have most of Vexed Brain’s lineup, but I love to hear his pedals, and you got me hooked on Laowiz. (I’ve posted several bad Instagram videos of his Bath Salts fuzz, which I’m hoping you’ll get.) I’d like a PWR, which seems to be a more flexible Acapulco Gold? And Blue Colander seems to make a lot of interesting goodies. In fact, I’m hoping someone will review Blue Colander’s Fuzz Sustainer (I.e., his take on the Poland-original Satronik Fuzz). It seems to be a unique design, though it produces a Muff-like sound, and his site says it’s a limited run… I’m really keen to hear a professional’s take on whether it’s truly something different in the world of fuzz.
Vexed Brain and Laowiz are seriously doing amazing work. I might very well have a salty demo in the works soon. PWR, is quite a bit more versatile but it for sure taps into that massive destructive thing the AP does. Really love it. Always amazed by Blue Colanders work too. I’ll take a look at the Fuzz Sustainer!
Being a notoriously tough critic of music I have to say, if the aroma of my old roommate's deviled egg farts could be converted to an audible sensation it would still smell better than your playing. Never before have I felt compelled to tell anyone to put the instrument down and never touch it again.
Time is fleeting and one day yours will be all but spent. On that day, as you reflect on all of the ways you used your time, imagine how you’ll feel, knowing you spent it trying to rob others of their happiness, instead of finding your own.
Just grabed the Unpleasant Surprise because of your video. My band hates it, but I love that pedal so much. Cheers from Brazil.
Hahahahha hell yeah! That’s awesome! All the best to you too.
Hey, thank you for the demo !
Thanks for sending it over. Such a rad pedal!
Some of those are pretty darn sweet. Cathedral and Dornenkrone were my faves. UA-cam is blessing me this evening.
They’re sooooo good! Good job UA-cam! 🥳
P Isabella is my favorite fuzz pedal in my collection. Great video! I really enjoy watching your pedal reviews!
Thanks so much! I agree too. The P. Isabella is the first muff style fuzz I’ve ever liked!

Ah, thank you, dude! That’s so rad to hear. I do love me some shoegaze too.
which music? distorted guitar music? lee used an hm2 in sonic youth.🤷♂

Currently moving to Norway 🤣
Feels like you're right in your element with all of these. So many varieties of destruction. All around hugeness and smoking husks.

@ this is where your training really shines😂
I came for the Unpleasant Surprise.
I was not disappointed; thing is *RAW.*
Damn right! Seriously soooo good.
@@boringgearreviews Couldn't get your hands on an OK Doomer either, huh? 😂😂 It's hard to get, and the dude keeps it that way.

Meh. They all sound constrained and small, maybe because of the DI into the A/D converter or whatever.
@@shaft9000 Thanks for watching.
