Wags personally helped me through the chat when installing my tundra kit. Customer service with ironman 4x4 is hands down the best company I have ever worked with.
Thank you for the kind words, enjoy!
Install mine a month ago. Put on a 2018 tundra. He says his was tight fit, mine needed to be shaved down 1/16” each side to fit and it was still tight. Disappointed but I was not about to put everything back on. I had to dremel both arms. Also running stock offroad rims, the UCA are bulkier there fore making my taller tires rubbing the control arm. Ended up adding 1.25 wheel spacers to clear them. They are top notch sealed system compared to other brands. Me bringing my truck to the ocean with tons of ocean spray, was the way to go.
Mine was super tight as well. Was able to wedge it out a bit with another wrench and it finally slid in. I was going crazy lol
Great video, I am going to try and install them on my Tundra next weekend
Hi EBjamin, Did you install the Ironman UCA? If so, could you please give me your feedback. I really like it but there is not too many reviews about it.
This video claims 85ft lb torque for the long bolt, but your other Tundra instal video says 173ft lb for this long bolt.
I just noticed the same thing. They should update this in the description at a minimum.
It would be nice if you developed a cover for the ball joint, it would look more finished.
it doesn't have a lid for the main bolt!
Does the UCA need to be installed with either of the stage 1 kits for a Tundra if I plan on staying with stock wheel size? Is there any advantage to installing the UCA? other than what was explained in video.
The UCA's also provide clearance with the strut so you won't make contact with the coil spring at full droop. Also they allow you to have your caster angle corrected and properly aligned.
Thank you
I have a 2012 Tundra 4x4 with a BDS 7” fox coil over lift.
Any input on UCA’s? I have stock at the moment but it’s time for new ball joints , the boot is cracked on one side so I figured now is the time to do an upgrade if necessary.
I’ve always had an issue with e passenger side outside of tire wearing quicker….. also how do these differ from the BDS UCA’s in adjustability and quality?
Thank you 😊
Great video tanks
Love the install videos, of any part on any vehicle. Always learn something new or a better way to do it. Thanks 😊
Thank you!
Will these fit on a 7 inch bds lift?
Question, I like this upper control arm, but is it only for lifted or can i use it on a Tundra TRD PRO, with stock height?
Yes you can! Just plan to get an alignment after the install.
@@Ironman4x4America Thanks for the quick answer. BTW great videos.
Do You have to have another wheel alignment after changing it?
Yes good to do a front-end alignment when adding aftermarket UCA's.
If installing them on a land cruiser is it the same process or would I have to open up the kdss?
Thank you for making this. Just bought the ironman pro forged uca
Silly q, why don’t shock and uca bushes need grease? And none of your videos use loctite, is that not recommended?
No grease needed as the bushings are not acting as a bearing, they are simply there to dampen high-frequency vibrations. The UCA's have a sleeve that mates to the flange washers and strut tower keeping the bushing set back. No need to grease because of this design which means fewer chores for you to have to do. Hope this helps!
@@Ironman4x4America thank you. Yes it does.
Would you recommend loctite on any nuts or bolts in a lift install?
@@Tigerratcat No need for Loctite, just torque to spec. A bit of anti-seize is also nice on the ball joint spindle and bolt threads.
Wags’ videos are the best! Thanks!!!
Alignment required after this lift installation?
Yes a front alignment is recommended following a lift install on any vehicle.
Are the ball joints serviceable or replaceable
Yes absolutely. Our UCA's will work with the factory Toyota ball joints which you can find anywhere should a service be needed. We also supply replacements. It's also covered under a 3-year warranty.
Do they not need a cap to cover the recessed ball joint area? I assume that would just fill with water and dirt
The ball joint is completely sealed so no harm to the longevity of the joint. Certainly could give it a shot with the water hose every now and then to clean it out.
You don’t need o do an alignment after this?
yes a must do.
Hello is this UCA UCA073FA designed for 07-13 tundra being discontinued?
I dont see it listed on your website any more?
Also will this work on 2nd gen sequoia(08-22) since since front suspension is identical between 2nd gen tundra and sequoia?
Not discontinued, just being updated and back on for sale soon. It will work on the same gen Sequoia.
@@Ironman4x4America Thanks much. Is there a way to order spare bushings and ball joints when ordering the UCA.
@@kirkhamster0024 Yes there will be.
