@@anthonyt219 agreed. It's backdoor shaking hands funny business going on. The Oscars and music awards are not what they once were. This song was described by Christopher Nolan as alive. The organ needs air, needs to breath and exhale as we do. When you listen to those deep notes, you can almost feel yourself breathing with it.
I’ve never heard a song that can elicit so many emotions at one time. It’s a song I would imagine would be paired with your life flashing before your eyes. Stunningly beautiful

      That's not surprising ...
When you play a church organ, you're not just playing the organ itself, but the entire building, as each organ/church has it's own resonance, especially depending on how old the organ is relative to the church ... the older the organ, the long it has had time to 'settle in', the richer, and deeper the sounds that seem to come out of the very building itself ...

Delta Riotlion no, for the Oscars, Zimmer was beaten by Alexandre Desplat for his score work on The Grand Budapest Hotel. I very much wanted Hanz to win for Interstellar, but because of bias, they may have given it to Desplat because he hadn't won one before that and Zimmer has already won one before (for his score for the lion king). Frozen wasn't even nominated for best original score and it was in the Oscars the year before, not the same year as Interstellar

Wow. And the only reason I decided to watch was this piece of music. Interstellar is now my favourite movie of all time.

This track... this track man. When I hear this, I dream of that something more. I look up into the sky like a stupid kid and think “this isn’t all... there’s something more out there. Something greater.” I think of the infinite possibilities of what lies above our planet, and what lies within me. This track rocks me to my very core, and as we close out this year, as nuts as it’s been. I can always look inward and remind myself that there is more. There always will be, we just have to be willing to reach out and find it.

Whether you are 8.5 seconds away from someone or 85 years in the past and future, love is what binds the universe together. I cried 10 years ago when I saw it as a single man, and I cry today re-watching it as a father. My mom told me the other day on the phone that when my grandfather was sick with stage 4 cancer, he burst into tears not because he was going to die, but because he wouldn’t be able to spend his remaining days with his grandchildren. I was only two when I died, but I am told I have many of his mannerisms, and I have an eerie resemblance to him when he was a young man. We are truly tied together in a strange, universal way - love.

Omg yes. It makes me feel like humanity future is at stake, as if its facing a great obstacle, like a transition of ages. This uncertainty of our future makes me feel both optimistic and pessimistic, doubtful, hopeless, hopeful. That's what this piece of art makes me feel, I guess "human".

If I close my eyes I can just imagine time moving faster and faster with everything in the background out of focus. However the ONLY thing in focus is this talented musician playing this amazing arrangement.
Every once in a while I find myself watching covers of the Interstellar theme and envious of those that are able to witness the moment and upset at those who chose to ignore it. Those that stick around to witness and listen to a once-in-a-lifetime performance are given a gift, a gift that only lasts a few minutes. That gift, is time slowing down for them where they find themselves still, full of empathy and wonder. Most important of all, free of worry. That is the gift this performance brings to us.

IDK if you've seen the short "making of" the Interstellar soundtrack. It's incredibly emotional, how Hans wrote the theme about his son, and what it feels like to be a father. I lost my father young, and learned to repress the pain of that loss so I could function. But when I watch that video, there's no way to repress feelings I have about my dad (who was wonderful) and to acknowledge that I miss him still, which is actually such a catharsis. He absolutely loved music, and so I watch the video every month or two so I can remember to feel. I meditate on who I am, and honor that part of my father that lives on through me. ua-cam.com/video/LOQYZFOqkt8/v-deo.html

This song gives off the vibe of
You’re in a tragic, ruined story. You tried your best and yet so much goes wrong. You remember the time of fighting for freedom, your closest friends by your side, you remember training with your mentor who died for you. This was nearly 12 years ago, but it seems like a thousand. Your friends from that time have grown distant, some have died, others gone missing. You speak to their family and people who knew them and over about a week you manage to find all who remain.
As you prepare for your final battle against the tyrant who once seemed so easy to defeat, you suggest an idea. It’s crazy, only a small chance of survival for you, but it means your teammates will live to tell the tale when you’re gone.
The plan goes through as expected… until you notice something is off. The friend who was so close to you, who always had your back, who’d been there since the very start… takes a shot for you, your team makes it out alive. You realise how much you sacrificed just so you could have something you don’t even need. So many lives lost, and those who survived… you can hardly say that they hadn’t lost their lives too. You became the very thing you sought to destroy.
As you fall to your knees you think to yourself.
    *I won.*

If you listen to this with your eyes closed, its like suddenly your life is so much bigger than you thought it was. The universe opens up to you, reminds you of how vast it is, of all the things it holds, all its secrets. You feel like you are looking into the soul of what it means to exist, to be. And then the song is over and you're back in real life, back sprawled on a couch, standing at a bus stop, lying in bed, and its like it never happened, like the magic you sensed had just been stripped away from you.
I come to yearn for that feeling of magic again, I become addicted to it. I don't want it to end. But then it does, and I'm left feeling a little emptier than the moment before. Music is a very powerful thing, I don't think enough people understand or appreciate that. I hope someone reads this comment someday and understands, appreciates, for a moment the magic and power music holds.
Edit: I've read all of your comments, and I'm really happy this comment I wrote on a whim thinking no one would read connected with any of you at all. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this and to appreciate beautiful music with both me and the beautiful souls who feels the same way

Hans Zimmer is a musical genius, this song was about how it feels like to be a father. but the song caught the emotion.
Christopher Nolan, Hanz Zimmer and Roger Sayer are just amazing and captured this perfectly and the use of the Organ added an extra feeling to the sound.
