Only ever been there once, not long after it opened - one of the earliest examples of a theme park where you paid money to get in, and all games and rides were free, with as many goes as you like (queues permitting) - it hadn’t been opened long, so all there was there was a train that ran round the park, an adventure playground called Fort William and an archery area - we rode all the way round on the train, starting in the car park, then stayed on the train and went round to Fort William and spent the day in there - over the years, it has expanded and had rides put in, but I have never been, apart from that occasion! Nearby attraction Flamingoland began life as Flamingo Park Zoo - originally, it was little more than that - but, following on from Lightwater Valley, which began life as a pick-your-own-strawberries place, gradually became more of a theme park than a zoo - I think they still have animals there - and, of course, the flamingos that give the place its name - both attractions now have a one time admission fee, with free rides - I think they have food concession stands (not free) - as a result, most other better-known places have also gone down the “one time admission fee, free rides” route - the most well-known of which is Alton Towers, along with other places in Berkshire and Surrey!
@@DJShadesUK and in RCT Classic, just not the original one. It’s a wooden coaster with the articulated trains and what looks like just the second half of the ride
The longest wooden rollercoaster in the world (or at least it was for many years after opening). Three miles from where my wife grew up and she remembers this being built when it changed from a fruit picking farm to a big theme park.
This is literally a steel beast. A long, rough, kind of slow, bit awkward terrain coaster that goes through the woods and has multiple lift hills, and tunnels! The similarities are staggering.
I used to work at this park, and having lived 15 minutes down the road I have ridden this rollercoaster probably hundreds of times. Really fun and unique but hurts like hell
True! Even the long way before the drop after the second lift hill and the blue colour of the trains is the same. In the game it's called "The Storm". But the layout is pretty spot on, just smaller.
I KNEW IT!!! Judging from the long way before the drop after the second lift hill and the helixes and curves, i knew it was a very familiar coaster from RCT 1 which is from Katie's World, The Storm.

As she is terrified of heights and fast scary rides, she has never been on this so it was interesting for her to view this video.

Ai first, I wondered if the title "longest" referred to time, because it seemed as if the coaster was crawling slowly like a freight train in a switch yard. But the twists and turns through forests was very cool. I worried for the riders, too, because if the foliage is not trimmed correctly then we could be hearing about decapitations. Way cool.

OK, but does it run on time? I would classify this as public transportation. The biggest thrill on this thing is wondering whether they trimmed the bushes enough.
The best part about this coaster is that because it goes out and back so far that they only go and trim the trees and bushes back once every few years. So if you’re lucky you get whacked in the face by a few branches after the second drop
It's amazing how they made this to go through the countryside. Gives a sweet ride along with an nice bit of scenery.
