NEW DIOR - TRIBAL V. PONCHO

- I picked up a lot of new Dior! Including twelve new eyeshadow palettes, so I decided to do an eye look for each quint! You guys asked me to compare the Tribal and the Poncho since they are VERY similar. I posted some pics in my community tab and will use one palette on one eye and one on the other so you can see what they look like on the eye! #diorbeauty

Yes, Poncho looks like a cooler tone, love both but honestly if I saw you on the street/at work, I would never say it’s two different palettes! Lovely!
For those of us with green eyes, the contrast provides a SLIGHTLY stronger difference. Tribal’s slight purple cast makes my eyes seem much greener.

Great point! You’re so right. That would make a difference. I would naturally reach for Poncho but now I feel like Tribal would be more flattering!

I had and was pending a purchase of the Tribal palette from Neiman Marcus, but the Tribal palette was on back order for such a long time, so I had previously bought Poncho from my local Dillard’s. I was so bummed that the Tribal palette was not going to be available as NM said it was d/c’d 😞
I have not used my Poncho palette yet and was thrilled to see this video comparison. It helps enlighten my mood that I can’t find the Tribal palette anywhere. I feel better knowing Poncho is so close though I can see just a tiny tiny bit of change.
Once everything is applied and blended though, it is extremely hard to tell the difference.
In the beginning of this video I actually thought Poncho was abit darker especially with the first color, the first color used to me almost came off with a burgundy undertone and Tribal came off with a brownish rust. Just me though.

I mean... how many times can I tell you that you are stunning and all your looks are stunning. They are similar indeed, but there are subtle differences.

I was looking for Poncho and saw one called Suede on Nordstrom's site, which I thought was Poncho under a different name so I ordered it. Today I got the package. They sent me Tribal. Lol.

Ooh that peach in the Poncho palette is so pretty! You’re right-the tribal shade doesn’t look much different on your eyes. Crazy, the similarities in those palettes.

Hi Jennifer! Can’t wait to watch this one! I’m glad you did this because I was debating between the two... however, right now, I’ve been doing more one or two and done looks which is a nice change! *Wow- I thought Poncho -from photos, was warmer... but clearly Tribal is! I think? I think that bright orange sherbet shade in Tribal makes it appear a tad warmer, even though the one shade is more of a taupe which is a cooler tone than tan.

I am having trouble finding tribal. I ordered it from a retailer and they sent me soft cashmere. I wasn’t going to pick up soft cashmere as I had already purchased Nude Dress, Jungle, and Denim. Once I opened soft cashmere, I decided to keep it...I thought it would be too similar to TF nude dip but I actually like soft cashmere much better than the TF nude dip. I still want to pick up black bow for the holiday season and I am definitely getting one of the holiday Dior quints when they are released. Here is my question for you....are you going to get affiliate links? You have sold me a great deal of makeup over the past few months and I would love for you to receive the commission...I know you have a successful career and I know this is your “hoppy” but it would be fun for you to be able to use some commission money to purchase new products. I just love your reviews🥰 and appreciate you:)

I've decided not to do affiliate links for awhile.. although I know that I will be truthful and honest in all my reviews no matter what, i think its important to build that trust with all of you for a little while longer! Yep! On the eyes they look pretty similar... I probably wouldn’t have known they were different palettes if I didn’t watch the whole video. LOVE my poncho!
They do look pretty much the same. Very warm.
