Generally, I don’t use gates. I use expanders and only on the toms and kicks. As for compression, not much on this. With just the 2 kits, I let it be a bit more organic. The drums aren’t fighting for space like a band recording. In general it’s EQ and levels.
Blundell seems to be making it a bit difficult to start a fresh idea; If Jimmy proposes a question, Craig answers with no room for response. Just my 2 cents. Fun shed nonetheless, but it would've been more fun to see them exchange ideas more often!
