I really don't understand the argument of "padding" if the content is optional. If you want to just progress the main story...go do that! Everything else is a fair criticism, although I did get the clear impression that there was a bias towards OG FF7. I mean, if padding is the main criticism, there was a LOT of minigames and extra stuff in FF7.They even went snowboarding after someone died, which is tonally deaf. I think people need to drop the nostalgia goggles. Can't call FF7 a PS1 eternal classic and then criticize Rebirth for...doing the exact same things the original did, but doing them better.

Every critic and people sitting at home who aren't developers don't realize that every little detail in a game takes up data and with a game this size some things won't be as detailed as others, especially trying to hit 60fps...that's why sometimes the graphical detail isn't as good as it should be...if they had made a smaller game then everyone would have complained about that too...people are never satisfied.

Lol this was my reason why I bought my ps5 console and also to play Death Stranding Directors Cut. For me I sad when they made Intergrade only for the ps5 console but I'm excited for Rebirth.

It's defo blurry with some odd shadowing even in the patched and updated demo. Performance mode looks pretty bad, while Graphics mode improves but with a dizzyingly choppy lack of motion blur when moving the camera. Have a look at Digital Foundry's overview of the post processing and aliasing techniques. They are updating the critique when the game releases too.

I can somewhat agree with your point. I can also understand, if someone is annoyed if a picture minigame unlocks a cool boss or new weapon/abilty
The reviewer clearly said that stuff is optional and what he was referring to is when the game FORCES you to do that stuff.

@yanc3879 Rebirth is much larger and was made in about 4 years and Red Dead 2 took 8 years.
@@yanc3879 RDR2 ran at 30 FPS and 1080p resolution. Most of RDR2's world is also just trees, rocks, and grass.

Push Square fell off. They are only a step above kotaku and IGN these days but I may even put IGN slightly above them.
I appreciate that this was an honest review. 8 is still a great score, but squares boring side-quest fluff in recent FF titles needs to be called out.
