the fans are fkn crazy on the strix they are so directional the fans barely have to run im not even sure how much pressure they create but literally 25% less fan speed than any other card
The thicc runs hotter but also with 40% less fan speed than the strix. Is it just the way each one has their fan curve set or is there a different reason such as the thicc having a bigger heat capacity?
I got the xfx one and i love it, It's a 1080p-Ultra beast, never let me down so far. For example, In cyberpunk with everything cranked up to the maximum (except volumetric clouds and reflections at normal, and of course, no dlss or rt) gives me 57fps average. [coupled with 5 3600xt and 16 gb ddr4 3200MHz]
fun fact:on xfx cards you can see by the logos on the fans what kind of heatsink it is by comparing the color like if its grey then the heatsink is made out of aluminum if its like orange then its made out of copper
I'd say the xfx card is better in most aspects and if you are planning on getting the strix card (if the prices keep that way) I'd rather buy a cheap 5700. Nice review as always :) It gives us a look at both sides of the price spectrum to see if it's worth it paying more.
Which graphics model is better in terms of cooling and quality? A) SAPPHIRE RX 5600 XT PULSE B) ASUS RX 5600 XT TUF Gaming X3 C) MSI RX 5600 XT GAMING X D) ASUS RX 5600 XT ROG Strix OC Thanks...
ok cool, the thicc ran at 60-75% the fan speed of the strix, so derp for sure it ran a bit hotter but also a little more quiet. i dont own any of these cards btw, just an fyi in case some1 wants to save a couple of bucks. it wouldve been far more interesting to see how far you can undervolt the cards and what memory clocks each can handle.
Nice video but you missed something very important. The heat difference more on fans curve. I suppoze the xfx is way more silent cause top fan speed was 34% vs 49% on asus. If someone uses 3rd party gan controller then the xfx is the winner here.
So the thicc fans weren't even running at the same speed as the strix card. I feel like these results would be different if you had locked both cards to the same fan speed.
Maybe. Heatsink design does have a significant role to play. But irrespective of this we're taking them as they are out of the box. No adjustments/modifications. This is what people buying the card can expect!
@@Vortez yeah that's true. I'm curious how the thic card would work if the fans were at the same speed. If you have time maybe you can run a quick test? If not no worries b
Thank you for this versus review. Subbed and liked :) I'm actually in dilemma between those two GPUs. I liked XFX design and price but in ASUS I liked cooling results. I have few questions :) Do you know when ASUS ROG STRIX TOP will be released in global world? Does 5600 XT will be overkill for my i5-4690k@stock (for now, but will OC when new GPU arrive) @1080p @144hz? If yes, maybe I should go with other GPU (lowest tier NVIDIA Ampere in near future)? I'm in fear for now because I don't want to overpay for product which will be overkill for my CPU. Maybe I should go with XFX and made UV for better temperatures but only if this UV doesn't surpass my CPU capability to "feed" this GPU? Sorry for my english and again thanks for review :)
Glad you found this video useful. Thanks for subbing! I don't think you'll find a bottleneck using this GPU and CPU. Sure, you may be able to squeeze out some extra FPS with a faster, greater spec of CPU and of course if the games you play are CPU intensive then it could struggle compared to a higher spec model, however for most games this will be a great combo!
@@yonkocommander5531 being more compact isnt a factor these days. Anyone who builds a mini setup is not so wise. If you have a new or 3-4 years old mid tower, then every single videocard will fit in that perfectly, and won't really affect the air flow inside. In my country the THICC III is the cheapest RX 5600 XT with the price of 317 USD. Based on this video the card running on very good temperature with much lower fan speed. Furthermore I really sympathise with XFX. My best card was an XFX R7 360. I had ZERO issue with that little boy, but my other cards produce a few issues time to time (ASUS) or died (Gigabyte).
Every cad has a unique base setup originally which can be easily customized with MSI Afterburner or other softwares. I personally prefer the XFX setup over ASUS, because I bet that 1700+ Rpm is loud as FK. 60-65 °C is pretty good temperature in that performance range, so I would definietly pick the XFX.
Impossible not to like this video. Exactly the both two GPU's i am watching for weeks....Yes, No, Maybe..Ahhh...or should i wait for the bomb RTX 3070?...Tired of thinking
I would wait. See what NVIDIA has to offer... And even if not, the launch of their cards could trigger an AMD pricedrop which will work in your favour. 👍🏻
Depends what you mean by 'best' :) The Saph is a better value for money option overall, the ASUS has a stronger thermal design and offers slightly better performance.
now XFX comes with 1750mhz memory bios right out of the box
and it's the most silent card i ever had
Nice to see live gameplay with FPS counters as comparison. I know graphs are easy but I appreciate live gameplay more.
Pulled the trigger on the XFX. It was $115 dollars cheaper and came with the game bundle.
That's quite a big difference! Enjoy the new card.
Just ordered the Xfx as well. Got $20 off and Resident evil 3 for free
