A similar thing happened to Smosh where they sold for stock in a company that never went public. And it basically became a YT Group leeching off their subs while Ian and Anthony didnt even appear in their channel at all. Ian was eventually able to come back but Anthony never returned

Since the launch of Channel 5 (with Andrew Callahhan) 's Launch I actually prefer the name and branding to the former All Gas No Brakes and I feel like there's a lot more freedom of what Andrew can cover on his channel
Same thing happened with a youtube channel I used to follow back in the day called "because science" the host and face of the channel and really the guy they build their brand on, Kyle, grew tired of the contract he had so he wanted to change if I recall correctly but they didn't want to renegotiate so he just up and left and made his own channel with the exact same concept. They tried recycling old videos for a couple of months after his departure but they started losing subscribers they went from 2.7 million to 1.4 and the last upload was more than a year ago. Meanwhile my man Kyle is thriving and has full creative control on his new channel, good for him. Hopefully the same will happen to this dude.

I remember being absolutely bent over by an MCN that added no value to my content, and i was stuck in the contract for 2 years, they even kept some of the content created around my brand. That was many years ago now but my advice for anybody who gets approached by a company asking for any percentage of your youtube earnings, just say no, the value they offer is NEVER worth it. Super sad to see this guy get burned, perhaps we can take a look over the contract and see if their anything we can do to help him as a community.

Read Andrew’s AMA on insta and it seems like this is the one thing he doesn’t want. As good of a heart as Charlie has, Andrew wants to do this and rebuild his brand on his own on his terms, no middle man or big guy taking him under his wing.

When youtube first started and those partnerships were so huge, my cousin wanted to get out of a contract because his channel started doing really well. He decided to upload amazing world of gumball clips in an attempt to lose his partnership. Since the company had a part in the contract where any copyright issues would not be tolerated. And they ended up throwing out the contract and dropped him. Was such a smart move by him.

Andrew is a god tier journalist, it seriously pains me that All Gas No Brakes ended this way. I'm sure he will persevere and bring us some more even better journalism in the future.
This is why you should always read something before you sign. Also i feel like a lot of youtubers when they are small will sign anything as long as it brings them money until a lot later it comes back to haunt them. I am not judging or anything, i have just seen this patern all the time. Even the biggest youtuber pewds made similar mistake. Hope he comes up with new channel.
Before Andrew posted on his personal instagram that he was no longer with AGNB, the official AGNB account posted that they were looking for corespondents in other countries and my hunch is that's why he bounced. They were likely forcing him to start sharing his own show with the unfunny influencers they were going to pick, and the only say he had was to say he was leaving. Everyone needs to unsub to the youtube channel, unfollow their instagram, and unsub from the Patreon. Don't even give them an opportunity to try and continue without them.

And they ended up throwing out the contract and dropped him. Was such a smart move by him.

This is why you should always read something before you sign. Also i feel like a lot of youtubers when they are small will sign anything as long as it brings them money until a lot later it comes back to haunt them. I am not judging or anything, i have just seen this patern all the time. Even the biggest youtuber pewds made similar mistake. Hope he comes up with new channel.

I never heard of all gas no brakes until now, he's instantly one of my favorite interviewers, it's like the Eric Andre show in reverse.
If Andrew appears on Tim and Eric, that will be one of the greatest UA-cam -to-TV crossovers of all time.
Before Andrew posted on his personal instagram that he was no longer with AGNB, the official AGNB account posted that they were looking for corespondents in other countries and my hunch is that's why he bounced. They were likely forcing him to start sharing his own show with the unfunny influencers they were going to pick, and the only say he had was to say he was leaving. Everyone needs to unsub to the youtube channel, unfollow their instagram, and unsub from the Patreon. Don't even give them an opportunity to try and continue without them.

Just a few days before Andrew shared all this, I had been googling top paid Patreon pages and remember AGNB was really far up there. Absolutely insane that these big companies can steal not only the channel, but also the separate source of funding that was supposed to go straight to Andrew :S
