What a pleasant surprise to see Thank You Scientist on the channel. FXMLDR with the Blue Coats for the next from this band. They play with the entire drum corp. Will make for great reaction.

"Blood On The Radio" and "Feed The Horses" are great songs by Thank You Scientist - you would love those 2 songs and all of their other songs - they're super talented musicians.

Yess! TYS are amazing, some recomended songs are "Caverns" - a bit of an heavier sound with more progy stuff
"Rude Goldberg Variations" - Jazzy instrumental song. "Feed The Horses" - another heavier funky song

I found The Dear Hunter in 2015 and was super into them, more than I'd ever been into a band, for like 3 years and then I got into prog metal and metal in general, but I found these guys just before COVID and it was a nice change of pace to throw into my rotation. It took me a moment to get over the "quirky" nature of their sound, especially since I was such a metalhead at that point, but now it doesn't sound weird at all to me.
Anchor is probably my favorite song of theirs, every song on Terraformer is great though. But Anchor is just epic in every sense of the word.

The Tank is a certified classic. I discovered them because of their split EP with BTBAM. I haven't listened to much of them but what I have heard is fantastic

Tom Monda, the guitarist, does the horn arrangements. He is also an outstanding guitarist.

This song is what introduced me to them. I was at work, in the middle of fixing a car, and I had to drop what I was doing and rush over to my phone to see who it was. I was hooked instantly haha

These are guys are certainly under appreciated like many have said. Didn’t know anything about them when I saw them open for Coheed in Dallas years ago and I was into it immediately. Prog, rock, jazzy, etc. Their albums have a little something for everybody. Try the song before this, Caverns, if you haven’t already. You probably have though, lol.

Psychopomp is what I would recommend!
Also a couple other bands I would recommend are breaking orbit and their song "silence seekers"
And the band Indukti with their song "ninth wave"

I'm just gonna hit you with a couple suggestions if you love this:
    Protest the Hero.
    The Dear Hunter.
    (The) Reign of Kindo.

@@L33Reacts oh snap, you already a fan?
That's awesome, I didn't see any reactions to those bands in your uploads...
      I thought you didn't know about'em...
In that case, let me suggest Guthrie Govan, Steffen Schackinger, Plini, Joe Robinson, Sithu Aye, Jack Tammarat, and THE TOYS from the "solo artist" selection...
And Polyphia, Native Construct, Chon, Covet, Between The Burried and Me, Tricot, Cojum Dip, Intervals, and Strawberry Girls from the "band/group" selection...
      Just for good measure 🤣
I'm aware most of them should ring a bell, since, only if you're living under a rock you'd dare to miss what they're doing with modern day prog...
But some of them (at least to the extent of my poorly conducted research amongst the UA-cam music-reaction community) remain hidden treasures...
Obviously I don't expect you to react to all of them...
And to be honest, your commitment to listen to The Reign of Kindo is more than enough for me...
But if you do have the chance, I urge you to not skip the work of the others I suggested, cuz it is Bliss!
      Have a wonderful day fella!

Protest was my first metalcore/proggy band and so was BTBAM. I had a weird start with this kind of music. I haven't done reactions to them because they are personal favorites and I've heard all of their material lol I have heard of most of that list but I will check out everything I haven't for sure 😀

    • @L33Reacts
      @L33Reacts  Рік тому +1

    • @Reltihliehlla
      @Reltihliehlla Рік тому

@@L33Reacts I actually feel like this is a better place to start listening to the prog/math/metalcore scene, at least better than starting with stuff like animals as leaders, or tesseract to name a few...
I say this cuz I feel they have that healthy punk rock/scream/emo infusion in their craft, so it's easier for anyone transitioning into heavier, more nuanced/complex genres to flow coherently into this music sphere (especially, if they grew up listening to MCR/Panic at the Disco/Fall out boy/The Used/Paramore/Jimmy Eat World/Weezer/Good Charlotte/etc)...
It's a big world out there, and exploring other people's taste in music (like I'm hopefully doing by watching reaction channels like yours) is basically the easiest way to really break free from the cultural constraints we are superimposed in our own small pockets of society...
Unfortunately, it is sometimes so much of a shock when jumping amongst artistic idea(l)s, that we fall back into our own bubbles nonetheless...
So the fact that we are blessed with the existence of artists bold enough to become bridges between genres and even cultures, is just...
      Pure awesome!
My own music appreciation started with my dad playing "La Bamba" to me when I was little...
It went through Salsa, Baladas Románticas, Mariachis, Cumbias, Banda, Corridos, Sierreño, Street Rap (I'm from Mexico, so these cover our basics 😅), to Pop, and Rock (the whole thing, from The Beatles to Pxndx ←emo Mexican band), and (fortunately) I was able to learn English (the language) and open myself enough that let my music world explode again with prog (ie)....
And it keeps happening every time I sit down to look in a different direction in the globe...
      It's f#ckin awesome.
So honestly the fact you should celebrate, is that wherever you started, you started!
Just do your best to keep that openness and you'll undoubtedly be granted the joy that all music brings...
Alright, sorry if it was a little corny (my comment), but I woke up today feeling like writing a lot, and you just happened to be the victim 🤣...
Have a great day and saludos desde México compa!

None of TYS is "metal" though there is a lot that I would say is "metal-adjacent". The track Caverns off this same album is FIRE.
