  • The term succulent covers many, sometimes, very different plants that are not like each other. While most succulents are hardy plants, not all succulents are.
I've been growing and selling succulents for over a decade, but was once a succulent beginner myself.
In this video i will share some tips i wish i knew when i started growing succulents. If you're new to growing these plants, there are certain things you should know.

Yes, grow lights will work great. They like full spectrum, white lights at about 500lumens 🙂

Nice informative video. Just want to ask when should we repot Echeveria, mine has become to big but not sure should I repot it or not and also I have normal compost and don't want to buy succulent compost just for one plant so can I use normal compost for repoting ?
    Waiting for your reply. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply.. I usually repot Echeveria from early Spring- early Autumn. This is when they grow the most here in Aus. Re the compost- this is a bit tricky to advise on. Technically succulents don't like too much nitrogen which is common with compost, however, i've seen some beautiful succulents growing in properly rotted compost that had lots of bits in it. If your compost is good, well rotted, doesn't smell and drains well you should be ok. But it's hard to say without seeing it. You could amend it a bit by adding about 10% sand and 10% drainage agent such as perlite or pumice. Hope this helps a bit 🙂

Which store-bought potting should I use for succulants in pots ?

In Australia and the USA I recommend Osmocote with added gritty mix depending on pot, clay or plastic ( more grit) if you’re an under or overwaterer (more grit) and if you live in a dry climate like Sydney or humid like India (more grit). Lushgardener in India uses 80 percent grit to 20 percent soil 😮

How to propogate echiveria gigantic rose?

The fastest way is to separate pups, if it has any. You can also try leaf propagation. I have a video you can watch on Echeveria propagation
