Hey there was wondering if you could help me I purchased one of these chippers but it doesn't seem to be performing very well at all. see how on this video it almost drags the branches through. Mine doesn't do that at all and you have to force it through, do I have to adjust something?
Have you adjusted the blades so there's a 5mm gap? Sounds like the gap isn't set correctly. One of the blades the bolts were glued in on mine so you'll need to heat them up to remove if yours is the same. Mine will pull most stuff through without needing to push.
Bloody heck that’s impressive. My first chipper was a TW DHB230, I have always thought the little machines were feeble. Well worth having for tight fitting jobs or bagging up to ton sacks. Cheers great vid.
It's the snaggle tooth stuff that this machine would struggle with. I love the design of it, but the gnarly stuff needs the hydraulics driving it into the knives.
I'm definitely tempted to get one as a first chipper it'll beat hauling away brush and bucking it down in the back and it also seems you could take it in back yards if u had to
how often do you have to adjust the anvil to blade gap and what do you have yours set at?? mine doesn't chip as well as yours and i think it's the gap, it lets the really thin branches fly straight through without chipping them up. thanks
I purchased one of these machines earlier this month in order to chip through piles of material several years old, composed of small fir and spruce branches, and rhododendron, and huckleberry brush. The dry material gets clogged and is unable to pass through the outlet pipe. Yet when I ran through a few newly cut spruce branches, the material flew out just like in this video. While the owner's manual says it is designed only for newly cut material, the Jansen website claims that it works on dry material as well. The people at Jansen's also make that claim contrary to their own manual. Has anyone had this experience, and have you come up with a solution? I would appreciate your feedback.
I'm about to make a purchase of one of these machines. One thing I would recommend is to make sure the anvil is set up as close to the chipper knives as possible. They cut like a scissors, so imagine a scissors with a nut and bolt loosely set. I bet that will make a big difference. You also have to make sure those knives are razor sharp. I would do a little touch-up sharpening after so many hours. I have 32 years invested as a tree service contractor and I've probably had eight or nine chippers over that span of years.
@@jimsteele7108 you are the guy I need to talk to. I’m looking into buying a wood chipper to start a business in Belize. Do you have any suggestions as to a great low maintenance diesel wood chipper that I would able to maintain by myself considering there is no wood chipper companies there?
I have one of these, I brought brand new and first use was brilliant just like this video but soon we were having to push the stuff in and it get blocked or throws out long stringy bits. Can’t find in the manual how to adjust the blades but we turned the blades around to the sharp side but the blade gap still too big so how can you adjust it please. Second thing is belts both came off and broke so we had to replace so not very impressed with it so far 🙆♂️
The jansenusa website says this machine is not for the road, yet you are towing it behind your truck. Did you have to change the tires to make it road worthy?
@@mroki26 Thanks for the clarification. It was erroneous on my part to leap to that conclusion after seeing the machine in its relative position to the truck which is only to facilitate material transfer.
Why isn't the feed opening a little lower? A safety OSHA issue? It seems like it would be an easier job if you didn't have to lift the branches so high to feed them in..
Hello... i love it, it's good to have this to every farm. I'd like to have this machine. Well you please and link where to buy this. I waited for your reply. Thank you
@@jimsteele7108 Its actually quite impressive for what it is and the price. For smaller trims and removals it works great. But for bigger everyday tree work i'd just go straight for a vermeer somehow.
@@jimsteele7108 Alright. I'd say its perfect for what you need then. I bought the 2000 model for the kohler engine and bigger shute. It fits in my 5x8 trailer with my stump grinder lol!
At first it seems like a great machine. Unfortunately, after some use, it turns out that it is made of poor material. Jansen is a German company, but the chipper comes from a Chinese factory. Once again, the performance is fine at the beginning, but the first flaws appear quite quickly. Broken v-belts, cracked steel, misaligned pulley. The steel is extremely soft and you can see this. The blowpipe also clogs very regularly. I said goodbye to this machine and in the end cheap is expensive.
probably all made in the same factory in china and painted what ever colour and with what ever brand name sticker on it you want . but then again , arent most things these days.
